I called Deep Freeze Refrigeration on 6/17/14 after realizing I chose July instead of June for service dates. I spoke to Denise about change of dates then later about an AC PROBLEM. She said to call on the 18th at 5:35pm which I did and got voice mail. I asked her to call me Thursday June 19 on my cell phone and got no call. Due to a communication breakdown I decided to cancel the big deal.

I called Deep Freeze and set up and appointment to get an estimate on installing a new split unit system.  The scheduler said a person would come to provide an estimate from the hours of 3pm-6pm.  I took the second part of my day off from work and waited for a representative.  I get a call from them at 6:36pm informing me that they will not be able to make it on the scheduled day.  The person asked if we can reschedule and I was hesitant at first then I reluctantly agreed.  She said someone can come on Saturday and I asked for the time.  She again gave me a range between 9am to 12pm.  At this point I was upset because after missing the original appointment time one would think they would be sensitive to what happened.  Instead of making up for it by saying we can be there at a specific time I was once again given a time range to wait for a Deep Freeze representative.  I opted not to schedule another appointment with Deep Freeze.

We had deep freeze come to our new home to service our ac units. We got a few quotes and they were the most reasonably priced. It took about a week to get back to me when I left a message regarding getting an estimate. However, once they got back to me i was able to make the appointment in relatively short notice and everyone was really nice. 2 people came to service our units (father and son) and they seemed to be knowledgable but also seemed to be a little rushed (i guess it is the peak season for them right now).

They did good. They came in and checked the stuff. I thought they were going to change the filter but they just sprayed. They didn't do anything impressive. You pay for what you get. The guy did great. It wasn't worth the price they charged.

We take pride in providing quality service and being honest with our customers. "Obviously, there is some confusion on your part. The FREE estimate that we provided had absolutely nothing to do with your outside condensing unit. We quoted a price to replace a 40 year old air handler and a broken electronic air cleaner in the attic which required two visits (at no cost to you) to your home. Regardless of your decision, my estimate was fair and honest and was the best option for your situation."

Our boiler stopped working the first week of sub zero temperatures.  We looked on Angie's List and found a $95.00 deal for boiler cleaning, etc.  They were a family business.  I believe the woman who answered the phone was a family member; she was really nice and helpful.  The technician came with his son and they were quick, efficient, and diagnosed the problem accurately.  With that information, my husband was able to install the valve, and voila! We have had great heat ever since. Thanks so much!

On 3/3/2014 I called Deep Freeze Refrigeration to schedule a appointment so that I could get an estimate on installing a center air unit in my home.  I called around 10 am and spoke with a women and explained to her what I was looking for.  She took down my name and phone number and told me I would be receiving a call from someone later that night.  Unfortunately, I did not receive a call that night or the day after.   I was very displeased with Deep Freeze Refrigeration, as you only get one chance to make a first impression, and they made a bad one with me!  
I'm sure after this review I will be receiving my call back, but unfortunately I will not be picking up as they lost a customer!

They did a good job, it's just that it took so long. Replacing the tray took forever to get back from them. It took them three months to do it, but they were very nice guys and did a good job at the end. We did have to call them many times to do it. We had to buy the parts extra. Every time I called them they said they were ordering the part. I finally told them I was going to call Angie's List and the next day we had the part. However, now the humidifier is in working order. They were very well known, worked very well and we were very happy at the end to have it installed. I think they were usually here at the times they gave us. I did not have to wait an entire day because they came out within the time they set.

I was very happy with the service after being refused by several other companies.  Deep Freeze took my information, dispatched a worker quickly and the job was done.  The workers knew exactly what to do and got right to work.  I recommend them highly and would suggest you ask for Tony if you do need their service.

The provider was very professional. It seemed that the problem was fixed (no heat getting to the bedrooms - I have baseboard heating, and one of the circulators isn't working) when he installed a new thermostat. However, the heat only lasted a few hours. I called him about this and he said that there must be a different problem... and to solve it would be expensive. I still need to follow up on this, as I wasn't home when he came back the second time, and my son told me what he said about the box.

Everything with the service was perfect, we encountered no problems. They arrived on time and did what they were supposed to do. He provided me with an estimate for a new furnace. I felt he was pressuring me to get it done before the end of the year because the laws were changing which I did not like. I called a few other providers who said there are no such laws that were passed so there is no hurry to get a new unit.

Your furnace which is approximately 40 years old was full of patches and held together with duct tape, making it impossible to function properly. My recommendation to replace the furnace was clearly in your best interest since operating a furnace in this condition is truly a safety hazard."

They were really really late.  The job before mine took much longer than expected so I can't ding them for that.  My job ended up being a little more difficult than they originally anticipated but at the end of the day, my problem was fixed and they stuck to the price given in the estimate.  I would use them again.

I recently bought a $95 furnace tune up coupon from them. I got a response that told me to call the office. When I called around 9am, a women on her cell phone answered, I could hear a GPS talking in the background so I knew she was in her car. She told me she would call me back later then didn't call me back until 830pm when I was trying to put my kids to sleep. We set an appointment for Wednesday 11/20 but they showed up on Tuesday 11/19 in error. I called the women back and she said she screwed up and thought today was Wednesday not Tuesday. Then, unbelievably, she said she had to call me back because she was cooking her breakfast! If they are this incompetent with scheduling I can't even imagine what they will do to my furnace.

We discovered after we moved into our new home that the whole system was being run without a proper filter in place, and the screen at the intake was at an angle and was covered in about one inch of dust and dog hair.  We contacted Deep Freeze hoping that they would be able to address the filtration problem, which they couldn't.  We realize that it is a very old system and needs to be replaced, and that there wasn't much that they could do. However, it would have been nice to get some more helpful advice about how to provide better filtration until we could afford to replace the entire system.

"There was absolutely no room for any modification. I did the best I could by installing a filter in the return inside the machine. Again, the only advice I could give you is to replace the system (which is nearly 50 years old) and at that time modifications could be made to the duct work."

When we needed emergency service on the commercial walk-in freezer at the sandwich shop our family owns, I did not hesitate to contact Deep Freeze! Tony arrived a short time later. Diagnosed the problem (leak), and repaired same day. We have used him several times since then for our walk-in refrigerator and a/c and heating unit. He is responsive, incredibly honest, reasonably priced. A true professional!!

Their communication was not good enough to get me an estimate, so how should they be trusted with a $15,000 job?
I just bought a house, and am looking to install a new heating cooling system (or at the very least install some ductless units and do some duct work with the existing furnace).
I called on Monday, 11/4 to schedule an estimate.  I spoke with Denise, who told me she would contact Anthony (company owner) to get back to me regarding the time of an estimate.  That call never came.  I should have stopped there.
I called back on Tuesday, 11/12, and was offered vague excuses as to why I was never called back ("Oh, you didn't call to cancel?"/ "Miscommunication with Anthony).  Denise said she would call Anthony and get right back to me.  I didn't hear from them for the rest of the night, and figured I would stop bothering with this company, but I finally received a call the next evening, and scheduled an estimate for after 4 on Tuesday, 11/19.
As I was leaving work at about 3:30 on the 19th, I noticed a missed call from 3:15 on my cell phone from a 516 number.  No voicemail or anything.  I scrolled down to my previous calls and recognized it as the number for Deep Freeze.  Strange, I thought to myself, that they would call without leaving a voicemail.  I called them back twice and nobody picked up, so I left a voicemail and headed to the house (where I am not yet living--I was going there specifically to meet with Deep Freeze).
When I arrived at the house without hearing from Deep Freeze, I called a third time, and nobody picked up.  At 4:30, I finally received a call from Denise stating that Anthony was stuck at another job and could not make it.  I told her I had noticed the missed call, and asked why she did not leave a voicemail.  "Uhh, the phone just rang and never went to voicemail" was the response I received.  I asked why she didn't call back a second time and try leaving a voicemail.  "I'm sorry sir" was the response I received.  I told her that I had specifically driven to the house in rush hour traffic to meet with Anthony, and told her I'd wait there a while for him if I had to.  "He's stuck in Suffolk County.  Is there another day he can come?"  At that point, I left her know that they had lost out on my $15,000.

"Unfortunately, this was a problem of miscommunication, which happens sometimes in any business. This was for an estimate in a house that's not even being lived in yet. We realize this was an inconvenience but emergencies do arise and we would hope that someone who is getting a FREE estimate would be a little more flexible. Obviously, you have gotten other estimates for you to arrive at a job cost of $15,000 and you are clearly shopping around."
