Installation was exactly as described. Team was prompt and professional. Refinish was totally dustless as promised. Floors were beautiful and installed matched existing. We had 3 coats of poly applied. My only disappointment is that they assured us that the 3 coats would stand up to the wear and tear of our goldeN retriever but we are already seeing scratches. We will have to have a buff and re-coat applied next year vs. every 3 as recommended.

GREAT experience! Arrived as scheduled, staff were professional, stayed on schedule, finished on-time and within estimate. There was accidental damage to the ceiling but they immediately came in and fixed it to our satisfaction.  They have this down to a science.  The estimate was so thorough that there were no surprises.

We were extremely pleased with the professional job performed by Donna and Kelly and every one of their crew. Every step of the way, they displayed the knowledge and professionalism that only come with experience. The best single word that describes the work itself is meticulous. The fit and finsh of the family room repair is perfectly matched to the original floor. When they say "dustless" they are not exaggerating. Watch the video on their web site. Bottom line we are very, very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to recommend RHF for your job big or small.

The first day the men sanded the floors and replaced boards that were damaged and boards that were previously installed to cover old register holes and cold air returns when the house was heated with coal or oil.  They also put down the coat of stain and the first coat of polyurethane.  The next day they put the second coat of polyurethane on, and the third day the last coat of polyurethane went on.  These men were very efficient, polite and certainly knew what they were doing.  My floors look so beautiful, and I am very happy with the end result.

I had Rochester hardwood sand and finish the stairs between my first and second floor of my home. The quote was for stair treads.they do not sand the vertical risers, baseboards, or banister and railing. The stairs look nice. I am sanding the other parts they did not refinish. My main issue with this place was the lack of customer service I received at the end of the job. The office staff did not call me to tell me when they'd be there for the last day. When I spoke to the owner, he insisted his staff called me and it was my error as there was a check mark by my name that meant his staff called. He did not admit the possibility that his staff could've made the mistake and was actually rather condescending while we tried to figure out when they could come to complete the job. They also kept calling and emailing me within 5 days for payment. And the guys who did the work talked about how they want to find new jobs., which I found rather amusing.

I was working with a tight schedule and I called and Donna came out the very next day and they did the work the following week.
Everybody I have worked with from Rochester Hardwood Flooring has been polite and professional.  I plan to use them when I do the rest of the floors in my house and I would certainly recommend them to others.

Donna was prompt in providing an estimate and she explained the process well.  Teams did each phase of the work - installation, sanding, and finishing - over a multi-day period.
Several other floor contractors had told us it would be impossible to match the flooring.  This company did the job without a hitch.
In general the teams were prompt and cleaned up well.  However, one team was more than 2 hours late one morning without calling, hence the rating.

It all went fantastically from a quickly scheduled estimate to setting up time to pick a stain color to the actual work at hand. The crew came in on 3 separate days to do the work and left the house clean with barely any remnants that they had been there doing work. Extremely professional and would recommend highly without any reservations.

The job had to be done at two times in order to store furniture from one part while the other rooms were being done. The work was essentially dust free as their vacuums on the sanders were very effective.

They were on time every day. The process was virtually listless. The men were very cordial and respectful. I felt comfortable leaving them alone in my home

This was a 3 day project. The 1st day the crew came during the blizzard. They prepared the flooring surfaces and set up plastic sheeting to protect other surfaces. The floor was sanded, cleaned, stained and polyurethaned. The crew also dealt with moving the refrigerator. The 2nd day the crew buffered the surfaces, vacuumed and applied the 2nd coat of polyurethane. The 3rd day the crew vacuumed and applied the 3rd coat of poly.
The crew provided a list of floor maintenance. The crews arrived when promised (even during the blizzard).
The different crews that performed the work were all very friendly and were very professional. They left each day cleaning up any items they brought in and cleaned any mess that was created. There were no surprises other than the floor looked much better than I anticipated.
The floor, landing and stairs look beautiful and greatly enhance the look of the kitchen area.

The floors turned out superbly.  We were fortunate to be away while the work was done. The house was empty having just been purchased.  The real estate agent assisted by providing access to the work crew who then had free access thoughout the job.  The provider accommodated us by modifying their schedules to do the work within a schedule of other work being done prior to occupancy.  I was able to follow the work progress with the proprietor assuring that there were no questions using email or the phone.  We are very pleased with the service and the results.  It was a pleasure to work directly with the proprietor.  The contact created the feeling of trust and understanding to do the work and do it right while we were away.  We recommend the provider to you.

they were short one box of wood that is on backorder, but have scheduled the date to finish the job.  they were extremely neat and professional.

As usual it went incredibly well. Donna and Kelly have always been very professional and friendly. We have used them several times in the past as have other members of my family. Quality and workmanship is always top notch. Workers are always on time, friendly. They work hard, keep at it and do a great job cleaning up when they are finished. I believe their prices compare with any other company- probably better. I look forward to having three bedrooms done in the near future giving me a total house of beautiful hickory hardwood flooring!

they did a good job refinishing the floor and replacing a few floor boards. They were responsive and courteous, professional. They did miss a spot with the molding they installed. If i look in some of the harder to get at corners of the floor i do see swirl marks, i honestly dont know if this is normal or not (this is my first experience with hardwood flooring). all and all i would use them again, they did want they said they would and for the price they said. there was no fussing about; im happy with the way the floor look.

Pulled up a bedroom carpet, all tacking, and disposed of debris.  They refinished the hardwood floor under the carpet.  They also replaced some flooring and put in new molding around new floor.  Floor looks great!!!

Starting from the estimate/quote we had a positive experience with Rochester Hardwood Floor. They were able to come out and do the estimate within 1 week of our first call. The work schedule was about 4 weeks out but we managed to find the first available time over a weekend pretty easily. The work started on Friday and lasted from morning through mid-afternoon. Saturday they came and buffed and applied another coat of polyurethane and again on Sunday. Sunday they also installed the footing. The workers were nice and informative, very much in and out of the house, no breaks. The service is supposed to be dustless which we found to be largely true. There was some dust left in the hallway and on the walls but it wasn't bad at all. We were slightly disappointed that the wooden trim floor boards around the rooms was roughed up a bit in the process of sanding on day one, it will need to be re-painted which we had not bargained for. I'm not sure if we could have done something to prevent that or not. There were two basketball size water or some sort of stains on the floor in one room and after just regular sanding they came clean, our 100 year old floors look beautiful. I was concerned with the smell of the polyurethane but it was ok. I am pregnant and therefore more worried than I would normally but but found the we could keep our bedroom 'fume free' for the most part by some creative ventilation using a fan in the hall way and an open window.

I called quite a few local companies and private contractors. Rochester Hardwood Floor's price is the second lowest, only higher than a handyman. We chose to trust a company that has dozens of positive reviews on Angies list. Everything went smooth and we are very happy with their work.

Donna came and gave me an estimate in late April. She was prompt, efficient and professional and the price was about what we were expecting so I hired them. We scheduled for Memorial Day weekend (mistake on my part, but not their fault) and they came and did the job. They replaced a few boards in the upstairs hallway and when we came back in the house the day after they applied the first coat we noticed there was too much give in a couple of them. They fixed the problem when they came back to do the second coat and it looks great! I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Rochester Hardwood did an excellent job on our installation,  they were clean, efficient and very professional.  Unfortunately our first shipment had damaged wood boards and we are grateful that Rochester Hardwood protected us by not installing and going back to the manufacturer to correct the problem.  It took three shipments  to at least get the majority of the order correct and we were without floors or furniture for over three weeks.  This was not the fault of the Installer, on the contrary, they protected us and negotiated with the manufacturer on our behalf.  The owners, Kelly and Donna, were in constant communication with us and even made a trip to our home to inspect the wood personally.  They assured us that they would not install any wood that had even the slightest defect, and we appreciated that.  The answer we got from the manufacturer was that because of the product we ordered that we should expect some defects, which was never disclosed when the choice was made. 
Once Rochester Hardwood began the installation, I have to say that the work crew  did an outstanding job.  Before they installed the trim, I thought that their cuts were so precise that they it really didn't even need the trim.  After all of the drama with the shipments,  and rescheduling, this crew performed a 3 1/2 day job in just 2 1/2 days.  We are very pleased with  the workmanship and the look of our floors.
