"Thanks for the nice feedback [member name removed]. I see you called us for more work. THanks for the loyalty. Joe Berardi"
"I believe this customer lives in a trailer and had a problem with mice getting into it. Our tech was to go out to determine the problem. When he got there he was to give an estimate to remove skirting around the trailer, crawl under it, remove floor insulation and inspect the problem for $100. And then an additional quote would be given to actually fix his problem once we could see what actually had to be done. When he got there [member name removed] was not home but I believe his daughter was. He incorrectly charged her $200 for this inspection without putting the explanation in writing on a work order and after he inspected the floor from under the trailer he he told her he couldn't do anything. When he returned to our office we realized his error and promptly mailed the homeowner his $200 check back. We apologize for this misunderstanding. Our quotes are free and fixed price unless we need to do some work in order to determine what actually has to be done. In which case that preliminary work is quoted with a fixed price and the homeowner can approve it or decline."
"Thanks for the nice review, Sorry it took longer because of all the rain. Call anytime for future work. Joe Berardi"
"Sorry for the misunderstanding [member name removed]. The tech was a little sloppy and no longer with us. I apologize. I don't recall yelling at you, but if I came across a little loud I'm sorry. Our prices are fixed, not hourly, so if it takes longer or less time it doesn't matter. Our customers can get other estimates before approving one of our fixed price quotes. Joe Berardi"
"Hi [member name removed], This is the first I have heard of your situation. I just became aware that I can check and respond to reviews on Angies List. We are very good at returning calls to the office and I'm surprised no one called you back. Perhaps you called the tech's cell number who quoted the job and it slipped. I will have the office look up the work order and go over it. Expect a call from me next week. 3/13/15 Joe Berardi"
"Hi [member name removed], I agree, our tech initially pricing the job should have gotten on a ladder, but without taking the gutter off and opening up the soffit there really was no way to determine the extent of the damage which was much more than anticipated. This is what is called an unforeseen site condition and requires an addendum to the contract for more work. I understand that with the soffit open you felt like you had no choice but to authorize the addendum, but I assure you the price is fair and no different that our standard pricing methodology. I'm sorry you felt you were hosed but the work was done properly and is warrantied, and I believe the price is fair. Normally our techs work independently but can always ask for a laborer to help them and the price stays the same. Evidently, he didn't think he needed one. Additionally, the tech didn't charge you for the 2nd trip to the store. Regards, Joe Berardi"
"We're sorry for the misunderstanding. Our tech initially reporting to do the work told her that the price "could" go up because it is an old house and there may be unforeseen conditions in the walls and floor once opened up. This was explained to her when our estimator initially quoted the job as well, and is standard language in our contract. My tech was simply explaining about unforeseen conditions, that a price increase was only a possibility, not a guarantee. It's also standard language in all NYS approved contracts. He just wanted to give her a heads up and prevent any surprises and misunderstandings once the work began. [member name removed] didn't like this and asked him to leave her house and demanded to speak with me, the owner. I explained that this was perfectly normal and also as far as our scheduling, in remodeling sometimes people need to be flexible with scheduling as there are many factors that can change things such as the weather, extra work on jobs we are on from customer changes, Illness, etc. [member name removed] was very inflexible so we sent her her deposit back. We have a very good relationship with the Pittsford Building Departmant and I called them after reading this. They have no complaints on us."
