"Dear Client, First of all allow me to apologize for the situation at your residence both during and following the service visit. I've reviewed the record and the service notes and had I been aware of the situation, you would have received a call from me regarding what happened. Additionally, I have spoken with Joyce our Service Manager, and she too did not have knowledge of the call. She has however, upon learning of the report, reached out to you personally and left 2 messages for you to call her. She would like to speak with you and I hope that you can connect. As for the service call and for the benefit of the record, allow me to clarify a few items. First, I can assure you that after 68 years in business we would not start to jeopardize our spotless record now by doing anything that is not ethical or professional in any way. The service tech did locate 2 leaks in your home, one at an existing union and one at a tee. To repair these he disassembled the piping, doped and tightened the fittings, and also installed 2 accessible shut-offs for the appliances that they fed. This was included in the repair cost, which was discounted due to your Gold Seal Agreement. Apparently, one of the unions did not seat properly when re-tightened and began to leak after his final leak search on the repairs. I can assure you that this is not expected, but it does happen from time to time with any mechanical joint. I can assure you that we were NOT trying to kill you. When you called our office to report the leak, the operator that you spoke with was only trying to assure you that there would obviously not be a charge, so as to not create any additional anxiety on your part. I apologize that you read more into that service gesture. Finally, I would like to clarify that we were at your house within 40 minutes of your call. Please know that we have reviewed this situation with the technician responsible for the call, and he will be undergoing additional training, as well as verification of his gas leak search equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly. Again, I do apologize for the situation, and I understand your frustration. These things should never happen and we are working diligently to make sure that it does not happen again.
