The positive: Graves Brothers will provide a quote for PARTIAL Siding projects where most companies won't talk to you unless you need a FULL Siding project. The installation team was quick and did a nice job. The Cons: Deceptive Sales. Your Typical Residential Home Services contactor. I had a complete east side siding replacement quoted. There is a 24" "Jog wall" between the exterior garage wall and the living quarters wall. Their quote included photos that show this wall in one of the views. A second photo shows the entire length of the wall outlined that includes this jog wall, but they did not replace the siding on this wall. A conversation BEFORE the project work started questioned if I intended on having the wall replaced and it was agreed that it should have been part of the proposal. The installers DID NOT replace the siding on this wall. I asked for a simple $500 credit and was willing to settle for a $350 credit which was more than fair. The Salesman insisted that seeing the wall was not assigned a "wall number" therefore it was not included in their proposal. Graves Brothers displayed ZERO interest in coming to a mutual agreement on the discrepancy. Update 7/19/2024: After continued conversations, the Sales Rep finally conceded that after speaking with his installers, that the work WAS included in the initial estimate and should have been completed. I gave Graves Brothers the option of discounting the price or returning to finish the work. They chose to finish the work which is scheduled this week. IMO, Speaking to his installation team should have been done PRIOR to him taking a flat stance with me that they were right and I was wrong. Give Graves Brothers Home Improvements a 3-Star rating for (finally) doing what was right. The installation was done well and the installers were professional, courteous and cleaned up well. Just make sure you document all conversations and get them in writing up front.

NOT VERY HAPPY, HAD ROOF REPAIRED, NEXT RAIN STORM LEAKED AS BAD AS IT DID BEFORE THEY DID SERVICE. THEY RETURNED AND TECH SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO RETURN ANOTHER DAY AS THE WORK DONE WAS SO POOR HE HAD TO DISCUSS JOB WITH HIS SEPERIORS. HE RETURNED AND RE DID JOB WE WERE TOLD NO WATER BARRIERS WERE USED AND SHINGLES WERE REUSED THAT WERE CRACKED. HE COMPLETELY TORE SHINGLES OFF AND REPLACED ADDING MISSING BARRIERS. THE TECH FELT WE SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REDOING. OF COURSE WE RECEIVED A BILL ALMOST THE SAME AS THE FIRST REPAIR. WHEN THEY CALLED TO ASK FOR PAYMENT THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ANY CONSIDERATION FOR THE FIRST REPAIR. WE FEEL THAT SOMETHING MORE SHOULD BE DONE.

I have been in the construction industry for 20 years, but had no experience with siding or windows. Having Graves work on my house has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had.  We hired them to replace our windows, gutters, and siding. Things started off poorly with terrible communication and delays before work even started. When work started they had 10 non - English speaking installers which is fine, but I was unable to communicate my concerns and there were problems and concerns immediately. Occasionally a “foreman” made an appearance but he didn't really know what was going on even when he was there, which was seldom. I had to take multiple days off work to keep an eye on them. I caught a bunch of mistakes but they still snuck plenty of things past me, that I didn’t find until later. Graves has given me nothing but problems. I have pictures of one guy standing on my railing to install siding, which then broke as a result and even with the pictures they still won't admit to it. They caused other damages to my property that were outside their scope of work and never mentioned a word about doing so. I had to keep checking around my property to find what they broke throughout the project. On the install, I tried to tell them proactively as things weren't installed properly, but they wouldn't hear it. I did ample research throughout the course of this project. There were weeks where they wouldn't show up and wouldn't respond to my calls, and my calls were in regard to things that were unfinished: 4 windows missing, half a wall not sided, and incorrect gable vents installed.  When they finally came back they slapped it together improperly and started harassing me, demanding payment and told me they were going to send me to collections.  The job was so screwed up and it still is. I got the town inspector involved and had another contractor assess the situation. The town inspector failed them on the improperly installed windows, the polar wrap installation and some aspects of the siding install. The other contractor said that their job was shameful and a disgrace to tradesmen. Still they refused to come back to fix it. I had hoped until now that they would correct everything since that is what they told the inspector and the Department of Consumer Protection, but they haven't. I’ve been more than reasonable and given them multiple chances. Now I have to hire someone else to clean up their mess. At this point I would never allow Graves near my property! Please learn from my mistake and do not hire Graves Bros!

Starting with Jason, great communications. Followed through with everything that needed repaired, went the extra mile to insure any concerns I had were addressed as soon as possible and at no time was I ignored. As far as installers they all did a great job above and beyond.

Last fall I called them to seal a roughly 10 x 15 fairly flat roof. A lady said that they do that kind of work and put me in touch with a guy. He gave me a price of $275 plus materials and we had a date set. On that date while the technician was coming out he called me and said he thought a different department did that. So a lady called me and explained that they do that work, but she would have to schedule an appointment for an estimate. About ten minutes later a guy named Dave called me and said they don’t do that work. If they don’t do that work, why did four people from the company tell me they do?

What can I say, the house is beautiful! We had stone veneer siding put on the house and it absolutely makes the house pop! Would absolutely recommend Graves to any of my friends.

They were friendly, they were quick and they cleaned up everything.

Everything went mostly as expected with our roof replacement. 20 sections of plywood sheathing and some rafters were replaced beyond the original estimate but we were told that might need to happen, and the extra cost was specified beforehand. Project was completed in one day despite the extra work. Accidental damage was repaired promptly with care by skilled tradesperson with knowledge on how to do the specific repair. March 24, 2023.

Guy came out and did the measurements but now I have yet to hear from him or the company and was told that he tried to get ahold of me once even tho I have no records of him calling. I emailed him directly and have yet to hear back from them

Had an estimate within 24 hrs of contact. Work performed 6 days from contact. James and Anthony did and extraordinary job. Professional, personable, high quality job at a fair price. This company is excellent!

Excellent workmanship and communications. Ours was a relatively small job for them ($700). But, in a way, I believe a small job says something important about a business that often does jobs that cost thousands of dollars. The office communications in setting up the job were very responsive. The two craftsmen that worked on the job were communicative in what they were doing, and worked in a very professional manner. After completion of the work there was a little mix-up in processing the invoice; however, that was resolved with integrity by the office and field representative working together. I would contract with Graves Brothers again; in fact have scheduled another project for them to replace two attic windows and install a large fan in one of the attic windows.

The serviceman, James, was very good at his job. He was polite, knowledgeable, fast and explained things. We would highly recommend him. Things look much better here now.

I have an 1860's home with a large bay window. The roof needed replacing and the wood underneath repaired. The job was completed in a timely fashion and as I perceived done well except that the black flashing on a cream colored house is at least 1 foot tall and is an eye sore. Here it is approximately 1 year later I was doing work on the widows above this roof and I noticed a large hole in part of the roof that was replaced. After further investigation the cause is poor workmanship. I contacted Graves Bros, spoke with them about the issue, sent pictures and they will not back their poor quality of workmanship. I was told I can hire them back to do a repair at my cost. I paid a lot of money to have this job done I would have expected it to last more than a year. Graves said this was a repair not a complete roof replacement and they do not warranty repairs. No matter how big or small the job I would consider this a replacement. I would also think that if this is something they themselves caused that they would fix it.

Graves Bros. (Rochester crew) handled our roof replacement, and we could not be more impressed with the results! The process started with a two-plus-hour meeting with Chad, assessor and estimator. He knew this was our first-ever roofing project, and was patient, thorough and professional answering a wide range of questions. We had one final contractor meeting scheduled, but that was cancelled thanks to the great visit by Chad. Graves was hired the next day, and price became secondary, as we felt totally confident with this major decision. The work crew arrived at 7:00 am, and twelve hours later with sunset imminent, the job was finished, in spite of one unforeseen challenge along the way. After tearing off the old shingles, one large section with very low pitch revealed a decking that was markedly warped in many areas — poor workmanship by the previous roofing company!. Rich, Graves’ excellent project supervisor, was all but assured the entire area had to be replaced with 16 sheets of new plywood (otherwise, we’d be re-covering an issue that would reveal damage down the road). So, Rich asked his boss, John, to come out ASAP, and after a meeting to discuss options, we confidently approved the extra work and cost. Fast forward to the successful conclusion, our finished GAF roof looks fantastic; the quality of materials was clearly equaled, if not surpassed by, the amazing skilled workmanship of the crew. Thanks to Rich’s team — including Chino, Juan, Maria, Manuel and Louis — for their dedication, attention to detail, professionalism, and camaraderie—their self-pride and experience made all the difference! Also, a thank you to Bob, Logistics Manager, for timely delivery of materials and removal of dumpster. We highly recommend Graves as the best possible choice for any roof repair or replacement. So glad we hired Graves Brothers. We anticipated some structural damage to the wood around the windows on the west side of our home do to improperly installed gutters by the home builder. The damage was much worse than anticipated. Graves Brothers did a great job assessing the damage and what would be required for the repair. The additional work was very fairly priced and completed quickly. The installers were great about cleaning up the job site each day. We have received so many compliments about how good our home looks. I highly recommend Graves Brothers.

Graves was responsive to need to remove snow off roof to mitigate ice damming. Service person was courteous and did a nice job.

They came on time and it looked nice. Started leaking 1 year after guarantee. Called twice to have them come fix it. They did, leaked again shortly after. I called another roofer to repair, they said the roofing wasn't installed properly at the valleys where t was leaking.

During a very intense rain storm the roof developed a leak. I called Graves Brothers and left a message (it was after hours on Saturday), they returned my call promptly and were able to schedule an appointment the next day. The technician that came out, Cruz, was on time, polite and professional. He quickly identified and repaired the problem, keeping me informed as he worked. I have to say, I was impressed by each person that I interacted with from Graves Brothers and would highly recommend this contractor.
