Five Star Improvements

It went all right. The work turned out okay and I did not have any issues with them. I would use them again.

The service was okay.  They came promptly.  They were fairly prompt.  Some of the windows they did, still seemed a little drafty to me.  They only did the work on the outside and no sealing in the inside.  If they would have done what they said they would do, the price would have been fine.

Jason, the appraiser, was very knowledgeable & professional. Explained all stages of the work & included pictures
The roofers were very efficient & courteous. The job was completed in less than 3 days. The clean up was very thorough.
Very satisfied with the entire project.

Slow making initial contacts, but once we agreed on the scope of the job and price, things went fairly well. 
Workmanship was good to excellent. 
Clean up was not as good, with nails and other roofing debris found in the yard --  not extensive, but enough to be annoying. 
Truck that dropped off dumpster left deep ruts in our yard and and between the curb and sidewalk in our neighbor's yard.  
Workers left behind a large strip of aluminum drip edge on the roof, and the contractor's sign was left by the curb, which despite several requests, were never picked up.

They came early every day.  Did their work efficiently.  Cleaned up after themselves.  Minimum problems for us.

Instead of replacing shingles they glued mismatched (both in size and color) shingles on top of the damaged ones.  It turned out to be the owner of the company and he denied everything until I produced pictures.  He finally offered to fix it but I did not believe it would be any better than the original repair.

Salesman Jim was great. Installers Jack and Joe were friendly, timely and cleaned up every day after work.

Every customer I refer Five Star to has been beyond happy with their work. I am always thanked by customers for referring them to Five Star.

Jason's price quote was excellent. The price he gave me was less than the quotes I received from 5 other companies for comparable or lower grade windows.  Jason was professional and a joy to work with and his installers, Jack and Joe, were very friendly, did quality work and cleaned up thoroughly after the work was done. All in all it was a great experience. I will be calling Jason next year to replace my roof!!

Its was a very awesome experience never knew there was such great and professional contractors out there anymore dan went over and beyond in my home was always there and on time the whole crew was very professional and respectful d&m remodeling and painting will be the only company I will ever call or refer to my friends and family

Over a period of two weeks, I received four estimates, but only two detailed proposals.  The first detailed proposal was from Five Star, and was received two days after Jason, the owner, inspected the roof and attic.  The second one, from another contractor, was received two weeks after the roof and attic had been inspected.  It was prettier than the first one, it included color photographs, but would cost at least $2500 more than the first one, and the contractor wouldn't show me his liability insurance nor workman's compensation certificates unless I first signed his contract!  Five Star had provided copies of both when Jason brought his proposal, so I decided on Five Star.
Communicating with Five Star was as simple as sending Jason an email in the evening, and receiving a reply the next morning, which I did five times after signing his contract..

PROFESSIONALISM! It is always such a great joy to find a contractor/tradesman who brings a true professional character to their business. Such is Five Star Improvements ? to the greatest degree.
I contracted with Five Star to reroof two decks on our home. They arrived as advertised, and stuck with the task until all was well.
I presented them with a unique situation, and we did encounter some technical difficulties, but Five Star stuck with it all the way. It was never necessary for me to wrangle with them ? they contacted me with follow-up until the problem was solved.
I couldn?t be happier. I?ll go right back to them with my next project, and I?ll recommend them to the world

I was kind of under time limits and 5 star made sure all was in place by the time I needed it to be.  Added electrical plugs built shelves and rehung a cabinet. They did all that they promised in a very prompt manner.

I think their price was reasonable and they were a pretty good deal for the quality of window. The workers worked in the rain when they were putting the windows in. The salesman was good; he was pretty knowledgeable. After the installation I noticed one of the screens was loose so he came right over and tightened it up. Everything went okay but they only sell one kind of window.

We purchased 3 hours of Handyman work for $99.  Instead we got two guys for not quite an hour and a half which is not what the understanding was.  The two guys did the same task, even if meant for one guy, they just followed one another around.  They said they had to be somewhere else and left before the job list was completed.  My husband has called several times about scheduling the completion of the tasks to no avail.

Estimate was done on time.
Price was middle of the road.  About 1600 less that highest estimate.
Had to wait for windows to be made since they were not standard size,  Installation went well, no problems.  Windows look good.

I am extremely pleased with the whole process from the professional receptionist who scheduled a free evaluation and price quote,  with Mr. Pignagrande. As mentioned before, I was very impressed with the detailed explanation of the work process with pictures to explain the roofing process. 
The roofers were punctual, polite, and respectful. There was no down time; they took scattered breaks and lunches. Although this is not my area of expertise, two of my neighbors stated that the workers knew exactly what they were doing and they reaffirmed they were hard workers who did not laze around. . 
My overall experience was very excellent.  I learned a lot about roofing and I believe I purchased an excellent new roof for a competitive price. More importantly, I am confident that if there is a problem in the future, Jason Pignagrande,will follow through to correct it.. 

We initially met with one of the owners, Jason.  He was very knowledgable and provided us with a number of different options to help meet our specific needs.  After meeting with a number of other compainies, we decided to go with 5-Star's because their rates very competitive, and because Jason was so responsive and professional.
We are so happy we decided to go with 5 Star!!  The workers were great - professional and timely, and always clean.  They even finished ahead of schedule.  We looooove our new windows.

Only part of the entryway was completed. I felt that I could have gotten more done myself than the painter accomplished.   Perhaps if they were working on a bigger job there might have been more investment in the work.  No complaints with the quality of the completed work. 

The final job is excellent, we have gotten many compliments from neighbors.  I think we had some miscommunications along the way more about scheduling than anything else.  The quality of both the painting and the siding is excellent.  Richard who did the siding was a stickler to detail and did somethings we really like and is able to apply his experience really well.  When you do a job like this you need someone that will guide you and that is what Richard did.

I used the Angie's Deal of 3 hour of Handyman service for $99. I purchased this in January, and received a call from the owner within a few weeks. I explained that I had several things I was looking to have done, 2 of the bigger jobs were outside (clean gutters and install an outside flood light). He suggested that we waited till spring. I agreed, even though we had mild enough weather it could have been done in the winter. As spring approached, emailed several times, and finally got a time set up.
The employee (can't remember his name) that came was totally unprepared to do really any type of work. Even though I explained what I wanted done. He wasn't even dressed appropriately to be cleaning gutters....didn't even have gloves and it was cold! He was not able to perform the electrical work. I ended up having him just do a few small jobs after the gutters were cleaned. He was very polite and the work he did was fine, but I would not use this company for handyman service. I feel this was nothing more than a way to get more business, they are not equipped as "true handyman"!

Five Star Improvements was awesome!  The owner, Jason Pignagrande, personally did the estimate and kept us informed during the entire project.  Jason was always prompt and very professional, and followed through on each commitment.   If he said it, he did it, including all elements of pricing.  Five Star is a Platinum Preferred Installer for Owens Corning, and has a great record with the Better Business Bureau, yet they actually came in the cheapest of the four estimates that I requested. 
The crew was prompt and waiting when the materials were delivered.  The crew was fast, professional, and  hard working.  They left the roof in a watertight condition overnight to finish the work the next morning.   The results are awesome!   They cleaned up immediately and left the house in good shape.  No damage to the siding or any other parts of the house.
My house has extensive ornamental shrubs, flowers, and plants around the exterior, and they were careful to protect them.   Nothing was damaged.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone and hire them again myself.  I received great quality at a great price.

We are so happy with our new windows! What a difference it has made in the appearance of our home. We can clean them ourselves with ease now!
The installation was exceptional. Joe, Matt and Jack were extremely efficient, professional and they left our home spotless. They arrived at 8 AM and worked until the job was compete,around 7:30 PM. We highly recommend Five Star for window replacement.
