GREAT!!!  They finished the job in three days.  What impressed me the most is the fact they'd start early in the morning (usually by 8 am ) and work until at least 6 pm.  Each day they brought the dump truck and COMPLETELY cleaned up all debri.  They were polite and professional.  I will use them again for other work that I need done.  You get what you pay for and this was worth every penny I spent.

I contacted this company via their email address with a simple question: Would they perform a very small repair to the siding of my house. I have been trouble finding anyone in the area who will perform this work.
No response after 2.5 business days.
Even if they didn't want to take this small job, they could have had the courtesy to respond to me. It's too bad that this interaction was so negative as I had heard good things about Dan Fulmer Co. verbally and had read some pretty good reviews here.

He was very good.  They did a great job.  It looks beautiful.  I didn’t actually speak to them myself but from what I understand, they always get 3 estimates.  They ended up going with him.  The quality was excellent.  He was on time and he came when he said he was going to come.  I was very happy with it.  Whatever was done was done very well.  They showed up on time.

We have used them in the past for a roof job also. We were very happy with them. They are super paned windows, they kept everything clean, and they cleaned up after themselves, and we had a good experience. We have not had any issues with the windows.

Being my first of a week full of estimates. Gutters, possibly siding. All is well and my journey was on the way. Rick, Thank you. I rated price good as you set the bar. Dan Fulmer Construction is on my list as grade A.

It was fine. They came and did the job pretty well and did not cause any trouble. The price was not great. It was decent but it was not really cheap.

Price was over $2,000.00 higher than others, however what concerned me was I was told that was with a 20% discount. Without the discount the estimate would have been 4 to 6 thousand dollars more than the others, same product used and same work performed, so I cant imagine what would justify such a big difference in price.

Response from Dan Fulmer Construction

"So sorry for the misunderstanding. We would not knowingly waste your and our time with an appointment you didn't want. We have a very thorough interview process to avoid these kinds of mishaps. On certain days, we receive dozens of calls and that process obviously failed. Looks like you were otherwise pleased with our meeting. Again, terribly sorry for the misunderstanding and keep us in mind for any future improvements you may need."

They were very overpriced.  I have a smaller gutter system and was shocked at the price quoted.  Yes it was a complete replacement and some base boards needed replacement but I got that done at less than $1000!  They recommended 6 inch gutter and I was told by 3 other contractors my roof slope was not extreme.  It showed no signs of overflow.  6 inch was not needed.  Fulmer said I had 3 reroofs on my house that is why I needed 6 inch gutters.  I asked the guy that did the repairs and he showed me one section had 1 reroof and the majority of the house only had one layer.  He said that didn't require the 6 inch gutter.  It has rained 2 times since the repair and all looks great so far.  I want the job done right but for more than 6x the price for overkill isn't required.  I was hesitant to take the lowest price especially with such a price difference but when I got two other lower quotes I felt better.
Response from Dan Fulmer Construction

"Very sorry to hear our price wasn't to your liking. However, it is important to note that, upon pulling a copy of your estimate, it would appear your estimated price was $3,600, almost half of the price you report on this complaint. Regardless, we do realize this is a highly competitive market for this type of work and will do our best to keep our prices as low as possible without sacrificing the quality our 40,000 past customers have come to expect."

I found myself with a sudden roof leak that caused a large chunk of ceiling plaster to fall in a spare bedroom. They came out quickly to give me an estimate and we scheduled the job to start in 2-3 weeks. This was on July 1st. We were told that we would be put on a priority list since we had an active leak and weren't just doing a cosmetic fix. I was worried about the leak because I was leaving town for 10 days and wouldn't be home to monitor the buckets I had catching the water. They came out the next day and secured a large tarp over the area. It rained right before my trip so I knew the tarp was doing its job. It rained just about the whole time I was gone and there wasn't a drop of water in my buckets. After a month I hadn't heard from them, so I called. They said they were backed up because of the previous rain and that it would be another 1-2 weeks. I asked them to adjust the tarp because I had a minor leak again and they came out that day to fix it. Finally, on Friday August 9th I received a voicemail from the owner that work would begin Monday morning of the 12th around 10am. I had 2 other jobs around the house scheduled for that day, so I called both of those tradespeople to postpone their jobs since the roof took priority and I didn't want everyone in each-other's way. On Monday morning, at 10am, the roofing supplies got delivered to my backyard. By noon, nobody had arrived to start work. I figured they would come after lunch. I finally called the office after 1pm. The roofing supervisor called back to tell me they were delayed and wouldn't start until Tuesday afternoon. I explained that I was waiting around to give someone a check so he scheduled to come pick it up at 2:30 that afternoon. I wasted most of my day and postponed the other jobs for nothing. Work started on Wednesday morning without any calls to tell me of the delay again. The roof was completed on Monday August 19th. I am extremely happy with the roof and the whole roofing system. I now have a roof that will stand up to the winters in Rochester. The total cost ended up $2,700 more than expected because they had to replace all the decking under the shingles. I knew this was a possibility, but didn't find out until I had to write out the final check. My biggest issue was their lack of communication thru the process and the fact that it took over 6 weeks to start the job when we were supposedly on a priority list. Also, at the end of the job there were 7 unopened packs of shingles left over. When the roofing supervisor came out to get the final check, I asked if we got any type of credit for those and he just kept saying that he always orders extra so they don't run out during the job. He left one pack with me for emergencies, but it's not like they expire or the company isn't going to use them on another job. We ordered a pewter grey color that I'm sure is fairly popular so it's not like they're going to eat the cost in the long run. After all the delays and lack of communication, this really bugged me more than it would have if everything else had gone smoother.

The worker quit Dan Fulmer halfway through the job. He left a huge pile of rubble in the yard. Dan Fulmer came and cleaned everything up and finished the job.  I was disappointed with the guy did the work initally; the level of professionalism wasn't good.

We had Dan  Fulmer do our roof on our first house.  So, when we moved and needed a tear-off and new roof, we went back to Dan Fulmer.  They did a terrific job.  We would recommend them to anyone.  Also, see above.

We chose this company because my father dealt with them 40 years ago.  We had an appointment with the salesman to go over our color and style options as well as pricing.  He was very straight forward and was not pushy nor did he try to over sell.  After deciding on what were really wanted we have the company place the order.  After the material came in, the crew came started working on the house.  Their attention to detail and craftsmanship was outstanding.  As they went along they cleaned up all of the old siding, made sure all the seams around the window trim were sealed and took care of all the details you don't think of when you have new siding put on your house.  Then the gutter crew came and put up the seamless gutters.  We are so grateful for the work that was done on our home.

We received quotes from three contractors, two who we previously worked with and the Dan Fulmer Company who has been receiving good comments in the community. We received higher and lower quotes than Fulmer?s but decided on Fulmer?s because the sales agent Jim Macaluso was easy to work with, provided all the information we needed, was not condescending, offered 25? foot panels (unique), offered a good competitive price with warranty and stood by his Company?s reputation for using their own crews and not abandoning the owner after installation. After we signed the contract, the owner of Dan Fulmer?s agreed to rewrap all the windows because that was the right way of doing the job and appreciated his thoroughness in addressing our job.
The actual installers, Dwayne and Joe (over 70 years of experience between the two) were very professional and did not cut corners. They worked hard in 90 degree weather to complete the job and corrected some of the work that had been done by other contractors. They were on the job for nearly two weeks and did not leave until everything was to our satisfaction. The house looks dramatically better. Before they left, we walked around the job and I asked about some small stuff and they not only answered my questions but did the repairs. They even got rid of an old wooden bench for us. They did have to leave the job site 1 day to work on a different job, but were back early the next day. Thanks Dwayne and Joe.
We would definitely recommend the Dan Fulmer Company.

My husband is himself a skilled craftsman/mechanic and so we explained to "Mac", the Fulmer representative, that our expectations were very precise. One area of concern that we voiced to him was the need for custom trim around our windows, which butt up to brick facing, and custom wrap of the specific area in the rear of the house which has an unusual intricate custom design. He assured us that we would be assigned an excellent craftsman, Chris, well known for his skills in siding, wrapping, trim and custom work, who has worked for Fulmer for over 20 years. We had explored other siding companies in our area, interviewed their representatives at our home, studied the plans they drew up for our house, and made the final decision to go with the Dan Fulmer Co. As it turned out, this was the best choice we ever made. As promised, the siding mechanic, Chris, proved to be an expert at his craft. He listened to our concerns and wishes, answered our questions, tailored the trim around the windows to perfection, created intricate one-of-a kind wrapping around our unique frame/structures overlooking the patio. The total effect of the siding, trim, and soffits was beyond our expectations. The siding mechanic impressed us with his work ethic ( putting in long hours 6 days a week) and attitude (always punctual, professional, courteous, attentive to details, receptive to our input). After viewing models of trim and wrap work other siding companies provided, we are confident that the custom work we received through Fulmer was superior to any other.
As for the gutters, we requested advice on changing the original system that was in place when the house was built. Fulmer's gutter crew met with us to review the situation and consequently installed what turned out to be a great system. However, at first, after the installation, as we inspected the final set-up we anticipated a draining problem might arise with one of the angles of the gutter on the back side of the roof. The crew came back and adjusted the system to our complete satisfaction. This experience was proof of the Fulmer commitment to stand behind their work and respond to their customers' input. We LOVE our "seamless" house and would highly recommend the Dan Fulmer Co. - and specific to our experience, representative "Mac" and siding craftsman Chris who were perfect gentlemen and consummate professionals in delivering a truly fine improvement to our house.

Every project was done so well - with such professionalism and efficiency - that it is hard to imagine trusting our home improvements to anyone else!  Our heat loss problems have been eliminated while the beauty of our home is enhanced.  No more ice dams, drafts or frost on the windows. They patiently explained every process and guaranteed all work.  We recommend Fulmer Co. because they do everything right the first time and can be easily reached at any time!  They showed up promptly at the time and days scheduled.  Everyone has been proficient, adept and friendly.  They are competent craftsmen using quality products and provide excellent results.

The job took nearly two days. Bob and Brian tore off and replaced porch roof and repaired front siding to house on the first day.
.......they also made sure the area was all cleaned up before they left the first day.

The second day did not go as planned because the leak was greater than expected.  The leak extended beyond the chimney
area to the side of house. Steve indicated they would need to remove a greater part of the roof area and  that all damaged
plywood would need replacement.   This was a surprise, however Steve indicated that to do this repair correctly two sheets
of plywood and more shingles would be needed.
Steve did NOT charge extra for this extra work, that is I only paid extra for two sheets of plywood ($96).....all of the flashing,
repair to siding (I had siding left from original house siding job), Steve purchase matching roof shingle at no cost to me.
....for info, the contract does call for extra payment ($50/sheet) on plywood if needed for replacement.

The original bid (plus $100) completed the entire job. I am very satisfied with the entire job and would recommend Dan Fulmer
for my next job.   They left the job sight clean and work was extremely professional.  Bob was the main supervisor on the
job and he completed the workmanship as if this was his home.  I was very pleased to have him on this job.
