The job went very well. The 2 gentlemen from Birchcrest were here for about 5 hours or so and did a fantastic job. I was very impressed with how much brush, saplings, branches, etc. they cleared and cut in the time they were here.
I would hire Birchcrest again in a heartbeat !

Came on time when promised - removed a large crap apple tree from my yard. Took less then two hours. Cheaned to yard and raked up the branched and leaves.

They were good. They were easy to get a hold of for scheduling and they came when they said they would. They also didn't ruin anything while working around our landscaping which I appreciated.

We have used other tree companies before, this was my first time with Birchcrest. They were very responsive, and did an exceptional job. I expected a mess when I came home following the removal of everything, but I was pleasently suprised to see that I could barely tell what had been done. Everything from scheduling, the on site work, to billing was smooth and professional. I will be using them again! Many thanks for taking care of my home :)

The tree to cut down was very small and that went fine. I wanted them to trim a small tree Infront of the house that was blocking a window. I explaind many times to different guys I wanted it to be shaped because it was growing out of hand. When they finished the tree still didn't have a shape and I couldn't tell what they took off, It still looked a mess. The pulling of the shrubs in the yard took up most of their time. The whole job took them 3.5 hours, the trees were so small I couldn't believe a company with such a big name in rochester had a hard time with those trees. Unfortunately, I wasn't home when they were done, my mom was here and she just told the guys it looked good and gave them a tip... Hahaha!!! My fault for not being home.

As our arborist explained when first discussing the job, the tree in front of the house is very asymmetrical due to its closeness to the house, and to prune it hard the way you requested would have removed too much of the tree canopy. This would have resulted in the decline and ultimate failure of the tree. We did prune as much as we could, under the circumstances. We also removed the ivy from the chimney while we were there, which should be factored into your consideration of the value of the work. We take our work very seriously, and our goal is always customer satisfaction with a job that we’ve performed in a responsible way by adhering to proper arboricultural practices. We hope you will consider using Birchcrest again."

They fertilized and treated the lawn on a scheduled basis throughout the season. Though a few weeds did pop up, the grass overall was thick and healthy. The technician was very professional and friendly.

The Company always sends out a professional landscaper to go over with you what it is that you want done. Then he makes suggestions to you with no pressure. They are reasonable, prompt and do the work when they say they will do it. You can count on them and that says it all.

They didn't charge me to come out and do the estimate. They were responsive for the estimate.

M. They did an extremely bad and seemingly quick job leaving a mess behind and compromising our property value in our opinion. Although they have done very good work for us in the past our last few were disappointing. Trying to get a response from them has been just short of impossible. They seem to ignore phone calls and emails. After 4 or 5 attempts they did come out and with the regard to the RG&E work, admitted it was a bad and sloppy job. Their initial response was that "it WILL grow back." The rep that came out was personable but blamed the contract stipulations with the utility. However his description of those stipulations would have had no impact on the destructive job. He noted that many homeowners had complained but it apparently did not make much difference to Birchcrest. He was kind enough to say he would have the crew return to clean things up but this never happened. He also agreed to contact the contract manager at RG&E and get back to me but that also never happeneded. After being quite satisfied with the $7K+ work the did for us the quality of their work and response changed drastically. We have a large job that has to be done in Spring and we will not be having Birchcrest involved.

The utility has very specific parameters we have to follow for this type of work, with a goal of reducing the possibility of power outages due to downed lines. This approach can differ from the aesthetic pruning we might do for an individual homeowner. Rest assured that your concerns are never ignored; in this case we were limited by very detailed specifications outlined in our contract with RGE."

Late 2013 my lawn (a quarter acre lot) was rutted from mower wheels and the grass, particularly under the trees, was sparse. Birchcrest agreed to "top dress ruts and bare spots with topsoil. Slice-seed sunny mix" for $1950 which they did 9/4/13. My job was to keep the seed moist until it was up and growing. This spring (2014) the entire lawn looked fabulous. For an additional $500 Birchcrest agreed to make five visits during the year to inspect and treat the lawn, which they did. During the summer the area under the trees looked progressively worse and at this point (October) it is pretty much bare dirt. I asked their representative during the fifth scheduled treatment why this was so. She agreed it looked very poor and said someone from Birchcrest would call me. Didn't happen. A month later I called Birchcrest and was told somebody had been out to look at the problem and concluded it was my fault for not watering under the trees regularly all year. Nothing was said about a need for that when the contract was written, when the work performed, or during the five inspect and treat visits this year - even though it was a continuous, progessive deterioration during the year. The majority of the lawn that receives a lot of sunlight still looks very nice so my $2500 was not a complete waste, but the shaded areas honestly look worse than they did before the work. My fault? I will not be using Birchcrest next year.
