Atitude on phone, NO SHOW ON ESTIMATING -TWICE

contacted this company on Apri 21 for them to come out for an estimate. Was told someone would come. contacted them again on May 12th. Today is May 24th and I'm still waiting.

After waiting the 2 weeks, I contacted them for an update and found out that I wasn't even on the schedule. They apologized and said they would put me on the schedule. It has now been 17 days from my initial contact and still no estimate. I joined Angie's List hoping to find reliable contractors. This is the first contractor I contacted from the List and the contractor is unreliable. Very disappointing and frustrating.

It went very well. So pleased with the work that was done. This was all done in a very timely manner Clean up was excellent. Micah who came out and gave me the estimate, was very knowledgeable and had great ideas about the work I wanted out in my front yard. All the workers were very friendly. My back yard looks so much better with that tree gone. I am very pleased with all the work that was done by the entire Birchcrest Tree and Landscaping Company!!! Will defiantly be calling on them again in the future!! Thank you so much!!

All went well. Prompt, professional, responsive to questions, courteous.

We received confirmation of our request for service on Thursday. On Saturday, we were out all day with the grandchildren and noticed upon our return that the stumps had been removed. According to the contract we signed, we were supposed to be notified 2 days in advance of the job being completed. There was also a coupon from Angie's list that I could not give to them. They did a good job except on one section that I would have liked to talk to the contractor about. The major tree stump is gone, but there are still some large tree roots I would have liked to have removed. Overall, Birchcrest did a good job. However, their customer service/contact seems to need a little work. I'm not sure if I would contract with them again if I can't talk to someone face to face.

Update: response from Birchcrest is just not true, I returned their phone call promptly and spoke about the issues in length. Their sales rep proceeded to attack my views on their poor service until he ended the call. Seems like they are the ones who did not want to talk. Also, there was no mention of weather until this response, leading me to believe that excuse is entirely false. Don't trust this company. Every encounter with them causes me more and more frustration. Original review: Called last Fall for stump removal, and they let me know a rep would get back to me in about a week. After a month, I called back asking about when I would hear on the estimate, and was given the same message, would be about a week. After 2 more weeks & an Angie's list message, they finally called. The sales rep came out, gave an estimate and said the work would be done the next morning. Great news right!!? Wrong! They never showed even though I had to take the morning off work. Apparently "the work order never made it out to the team" I should have just gone with another company. After they finally made it out the next day, they gave me a survey to return with my payment. I described my experience on the survey and expected they would surely contact me since this must be a very embarrassing experience for them. Wrong again, because they have made no effort to reach out to me to apologize. Don't let Birchcrest give you the same lousy customer service.

The wood did not seem to be the full cords that I ordered. The wood was dirty with caked on mud and of less than optimal quality. We think the wood caused some creosote buildup issues with the flue on our fireplace insert. It appears that firewood is a secondary business for them just to make some extra money.

Everything was done on a timely basis with excellent results.

Since we were leaving on vacation, along with our phone numbers, home and cell, we also provided an e mail address. We wanted to get some of the projects completed before the cold weather arrived. The rep said he would get the estimate done by the week end and call and leave a message, or e mail me with the quote. It has been a month since he was at our home and we never received a quote. Disappointing because we have used this company previously and was very happy with the service.

Birchcrest did a great job removing 3 very large trees from our property.They came to do the work very quickly after I paid the deposit, were very professional, and did it very well. The man who did the estimate suggested we check with our insurance company and saved us a lot of money. The problem was with their promise to fix our yard and our neighbor's, which they had used to get access for the bucket truck. There were large ruts left in both from the bucket truck and the chipper. It took several phone calls and a refusal to pay until the work was completed to get them to fix the damage to the yards.

The project was easy and painless ( for me at least.). The crew arrived first thing in the mooring and did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves and a second crew came out a day or two later to grind the stumps. I am very happy with the job they did.

Angie?s List led us to Birchcrest to remove 4 large trees and do some fill-in/level some low spots in the yard in April/May. The constantly rainy weather elongated the completion of the job(s), but they did the actual work in about 2 days when weather permitted. Good results, competitive price professional approach. As a result, we had them back in September (subject of this review) to tear out extensive old, overgrown & woody landscaping across the front of the house, ncluding the length of a side-load garage and a small stand-alone island. As part of the process, they also replanted the area with smaller, more maintenance free plantings we decided on together. The work also opened up the front of the house to improve airflow & exposure to the sun to help eliminate a moisture & moss issue. The work was done over 2 1/2 days and the two landscapers worked with us when we made suggestions for some changes and they made a couple as well. They also did a couple of extra things as the work progressed. Brad, the original contact and estimator for both of the jobs they did this year, showed up to start to explain the job to his crew and during the job to check on progress. Everything was done well and professionally and cleanup was excellent. Great results for both jobs with good pricing. The positive ratings on Angie?s List were spot on. We are already planning the work for the landscaping project in the back yard for next spring.

It went fine. They did what they said, they followed the schedule they gave us. Everything went as planned.

My lawn has a number of large sections with more weed than grass, and has not been aerated for years to help promote growth of the existing grass. Therefore I was soliciting quotes from well reviewed providers to aerate and to get the weed problem under control. After requesting an estimate, it took about a week before the appointment came. On the day of the estimate appointment Brad was very punctual and professional in his assessment of my lawn pointing out the various grasses present as well as the different weeds that had invaded the lawn. He also noted that my girlfriend's dogs that were playing in the yard when he visited may also be a source of stress on the lawn. He suggested lawn aeration this fall ($90) to loosen the soil and encourage growth of the existing lawn as well as 3 different treatment visits ($51 each) to treat weeds, fertilize, and control grubs. Then beginning in early spring of there would be 3 more fertilizing and weed control treatments before the cycle repeated. Annually there are 6 visits as part of the Deluxe Lawn Care program, with each visit costing $51. Total cost of the proposal was roughly the same as other estimates I gathered, but other estimates were done in 5 treatments rather than 6. Since I have pets that like to be outside in the yard, I opted for a proposal with fewer treatments to reduce the total number of days to confine the dogs in the house. Although I did not go with Birthcrest this time, I will continue to include them in quoting projects whenever I am in need of tree and lawn care work, and I would encourage others to do the same.

The Arborist that made the initial evaluation was knowledgeable, personable, and professional. The tree crew that came to do the work were efficient and the job was completed to my complete satisfaction.

She was at our house for over an hour and we discussed renovating our landscaping. I had liked what she had designed for our next door neighbor. I thought we got along very well; I liked her ideas, some things she had pointed out and what she had to say. Upon leaving, she said she would make some sketches of what we had and would get back to me. I emailed her on August 3 to let her know that I had not heard from her. I never heard from her again.

It was very good. I was very satisfied. They completed the job within four and a half hours. They cleaned up after themselves and left the place cleaner than when they found it. With regard to price, I didn’t really research other ones, but from what I've seen from what they did, it was very good for the money.

They came on time and did a reasonable estimate. Then the town vetoed the plans. Discussed possibilities on the phone after the town's decision, and then came home to find that Birchcrest had already done plan B without prior authorization. Didn't like how it looked. Then it didn't work. Still have significant erosion with heavy rain. Called back, they haven't much to offer. "Yeah, that's a problem you have there"

They did an excellent job cutting down the tree and grinding up the brush. when they were done and ready to leave their truck and chipper were in a tight spot and the truck went off the driveway and the front tires sunk in the dirt when the truck backed up it crumbled the driveway like a cracker and in the process the top platform on the truck crushed the gutter on the garage. they came out and had the driveway repaired and today they sent the gutter guy to replace that. I would defiantly hire this company do do work for me again they were very professional in handling this situation and did so to my total satisfaction. Thanks Val for seeing this through. I thought they were professional. They gave the estimate on the spot and they gave me options in terms of what I could do or not do.

most work done in one day. Cleaned uand well. Personnel listened to some items and were very courteous.

Due to heavy rains over the weekend a large linden tree limb cracked off the trunk. I called Birchcrest Monday morning. The representative came that same morning and gave an estimate for removing the fallen limb as well as two dead limbs on another tree. He promised to do the work first thing the next day. The tree crew arrived at 10:00am Tuesday morning and finished by 11:00am. They cut down, chipped, and hauled away the tree limbs and cleaned up all the debris. An excellent, professional job.

Great! The 2 men came on time. They performed in an organized, safe and efficient manner. They cleaned-up after the job. My yard looks super.
