Description of Work: This is actually a response to both Michael's Tree Service and Birchcrest Tree and Landscape. I used Michael's in the past and they were fantastic. Skilled organized and honest. For my current tree work, I used Birchcrest - Why? Because Michael's Tree Service joined with Birchcrest. Michael's Tree Service is no longer a separate business.

So far we are very impressed with the design and the professionalism of the designer and plan to do the actual work in the near future.

Description of Work: Removed a very tall black locust tree from my front yard, ground down the remaining stump, filled in the cavity the stump left with dirt, and reseeded this area with grass seed.

Description of Work: Birchcrest came out the same day I got the estimate to take down a small apricott tree in my yard. While they were there I asked them if they could trim a branch on another tree that was on my electric wire. They did that for no extra charge. The guys were very professional and had the work done in less than an hour. They will be back to remove the stump. I've always used Birchcrest because of there prices and the good job they do. All my neighbors use them too.

They arrived on the date that they stated and they were very professional as well as easy to discuss our tree's needs. We really did not shop around and the price was a bit high but they did such a good job that it was worth the money.

Description of Work: never have I don't with the company,in which I could give such high praise for one part of the job, and such disparaging remarks for another part of their job. I had contracted with this company to remove old trees, bushes, and growth from around my house, and to install new flowers shrubs, and bushes. The installation of new flowers and shrubs was done professionally, and in a timely manner.the laying in the mounding of mulch, was also done very nicely. It was the removal of the existing trees, shrubs, and flowers that was not done to my satisfaction, or to the specifications that we had agreed upon. Cutting down shrubs, and trees, is not the removal of shrubs and trees. Everywhere a stump, and a root ball was left shoots begin to appear through the mulch within a couple of weeks.some of these shoots in our couple of feet tall, and obviously destroying the aesthetics of what I paid over $6000 for. When I call the representative to come out and look at their shortcomings, I was told to spray the area with Roundup. While the world put ice bray with Roundup when I just paid over $6000 to have new foliage put in? So, as I said, part of their job was done very nicely but the removal of root balls and stomps was totally ignored. I definitely would not use this company again.

Description of Work: Birchcrest sent a consultant out to do an estimate for a retaining wall and steps. The consultant came, but 4 weeks went by and we never received an extimate for the work.

Description of Work: Called and scheduled a visit for a quote on landscaping. Here is the history: 1. Talked with a individual and she said someone would be over and i could expect a estimate within a week. 2. After a week I called and asked about a quote and the person said the company was extremely busy and would get to my house that weekend 3. A week later I have not heard anything from the company. This is a very poor level of customer service! i expect businesses to follow through with their commitments. I would not recommend any service from them.

Description of Work: Micah came promptly to give us an estimate on taking down a large blue spruce and some other smaller trimming work. He was very friendly and helpful, spent some time with us, and gave us a lot of useful information. We had four estimates in all and Micah was the most knowledgeable and helpful person who came. We decided to go with a somewhat lower estimate, but I would definitely call Birchcrest again, and it was a difficult decision.
