Description of Work: ALL OF THE FOLLOWING TRANSPIRED AT 17 Elmendorf Dr. Town of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.12603 The initial tune up of the system - Tech failed to detect the crack in the heat exchanger.Subsequent visits :Visit 1) failed to find the problemVisit 2) created an oil spill rendering the system USELESS - Heavy fumes throughout the home I HAD TO SPEND 4 DAYS CLEANING IT UPVisit 3) cleaned cold air return but CLOGGED THE SUMP on the evaporator for the A/C unit causing Basement FLOOD.Visit 4) Tech almost ran the A/C water exhaust over an Open Fluorescent fixture - Balked at my insistance NOT to do it.Visit 5) Don Fox FINALLY shows up with another Tech - failed to announce his arrival to Me ( I take care of Mom) Don NEVER Offered an appology. Was quite cocky throughout the ordeal, even accused me of trying to get a new system for free. This guy is as low as you can get. That's right Don. We have since discovered Fox Air is NOT N.A.T.E. Description of Work: We needed a new a/c unit. Our old system was over 25 years old. Mr Fox gave us estimates on different units. We chose the unit we wanted. He and his technicians were at our house at the designated time on the designated date. The technicians were very knowlegeable, their work was very neat and they finished in a timely fashion. We were extremely pleased with the service. Also Mr. Fox handled all of the rebate paperwork for us. All we had to do was turn on the A/C!

Description of Work: I was calling several A/C service companies for estimates on repairing my ductwork ( all of which offered free estimates). However, FoxAir stated that they charge $95.00 dollars for an estimate (30 min. service call). I said I thought it not only expensive (especially in this economy) but pretty unusual considering most other companies don't charge for an estimate. People should be able to shop around for the best value and not have to pay lots of money while doing so. Although I realize this isn't a typical review as they didn't perform any work for me, I do think people should know their policy up front.

Description of Work: Fox Air Corp replaced a heat pump system that handles the first floor of my home. That included the compressor, air handler, humidifier, electronic filter, thermostat, pipeing and condensate pump. They used the existing ducts. The job was completed in one day. The system has operated flawllessly since it was installed., They have since serviced my 2nd floor heat pump system for winter.

Description of Work: We've used FoxAir for our annual Furnace contract and also for AC repairs. Our oil furnace had a nasty problem where it just shut itself off and we had to reset it. We got two companies looking at it but none provided a permanent fix. This is a nuisance when we are home in the winter but we didn't dare to take winter vacations fearing we'd lose heat. FoxAir came a few years ago and fixed it for good. We had AC system installed in 2004 with two compressors for two zones. We found that the upstairs system only works two years and then the freon leaked away and we had to refill the freon. Refill costs $200-300 and it is very bad for the environment. 3 years ago, FoxAir came and topped the freon off. End of summer last year, both AC system stopped cooling so we got FoxAir again the beginning of the summer. I was fully expecting the freon to leak away but the diagnosis shows that both units had blown capacitors. I asked about the freon leak and he said last service tech topped off the freon and also sealed the common places for leaks. The last tech was also from FoxAir, so it looks like my AC's freon leak has been plugged and I don't have to feel guilty about ruining the environment any more. I think their price is also very reasonable, but I don't have multiple quotes so can't comment too much on that. I use them for annual furnace contract and certainly will use them for all other HVAC needs too.

Description of Work: One of my central air compressors was broken, I called Fox Air and they were very prompt in sending a repairman to my home. John was very friendly and knowledgable. He immediately diagnosed a blown capacitor which he was able to replace with parts he had in his truck. He also added some refrigerant to my system since it was low and checked the rest of my system inside and outside the house. He gave me lots of tips on care and upkeep for my compressors both in season and off-season. The only gripe I might have is that I considered $373 a bit pricey for the repair but I don't really have anything to compare it with. It might have been the same or even higher with another HVAC repair service.

Description of Work: They came in to clean the ducts and assess the AC Unit. They plugged a leak, refilled the freon and suggested that we replace the 25 year old unit for a newer more energy efficient unit. They were professional and the price for work that was done seemed reasonable.

Description of Work: I wanted to run the central air to the basement, they did the duct work, not very labor intensive, but they were very knowledgeable, advise me on the cheapest way to accomplish what I wanted, so that alone will make me call them time and time again because I know they are professionals and not doing unneccessary work just to hike up the price. They did what they said they were going to do,in the time they said it would take, and left everything clean and neat when they left. I highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: I have forced-air gas heating. The registers upstairs stop blowing heat but downstairs working okay, so I figured it must be one of the main dampers. I called Fox Air and one other contractor (both rated A on angies list) and left a message. Don from Fox Air called me back within half hour, the other one never did. Don was able to send his service guy, Artie, over couple of hours later who confirmed that damper motor for upstairs main duct stopped working. He took the model # and said that Don would call me with an estimate and time. In the meanwhile, Artie was nice enough to manually open the damper so the heat started working again upstairs. Next day, Don called me with an estimate for the damper and damper motor and recommended that I replace all 3 dampers motors for the 3 main ducts (upstairs, downstairs, basement) along with zoning panel. Even though, it was more than the what was needed, I decided to go with his advice. He was not pushy at all. I figured it would be just a matter of time when the other 2 will stop working since they're the same age plus I noticed that the other one was already sort of falling apart. We agreed to the price and scheduled an appt. Artie came back to do the installation. Took about 2 hours to complete replacement of 3 damper motors and zoning panel.

It took them 1 1/2 days to install the system, and everyone involved was very courteous and professional. I would highly recommend their services.
