York Deco Inc. is a family operated and owned business. We started as a painting and decorating business, and grew to a full remodeling/renovation company willing & able to provide small repairs to large project services. We have been serving the NYC and Tri-state area with knowledge and integrity for over 10 years. We believe the contracting and renovating business must be customer service oriented. We provide service in a timely and polite manner; and are always ready to work around your schedule and budget with a wide range of options. We effectively deliver quality finish product highly appreciated. Our most valuable asset is our reputation, built along our clientele relationship. We mostly get work based on word of mouth references and loyal clients relationships. This is how we started to build our business. We believe in delivering the work as a project (small or large) on time and within budget, and opening all channels of communication at all times. We are not perfect and we don't expect to be one perfect company; however the pursuit to perfection on our daily work is what makes us competitive and highly skilled. We execute projects of residential and commercial space, we also provide services to facilities like residential apartment units. Chris took very long just to respond to my e-mail. We don't expect a really fast response and do understand that some companies are very busy but since they are on Angie's list and their reputation is at stake they would at least make the effort to their correspondence on a timely manner. Chris arrived to look at my bedroom for a quote on a divider. He seems like a nice guy. He would not give us a rough ball park quote for the project, we were just asking for a rough quote according to his professional opinion.  He informed us that he would get back to us via e-mail with the quote. It's been TWO weeks and not one e-mail from him. A professional would have responded within a reasonable time to advise us about this prospective project as we are actively searching for other contractors. We are very,very disappointed with this company. It gives us the impression that smaller jobs are not worth their time. We would NOT recommend this company to anyone

The technicians were prompt, competent and hardworking. 
The company submitted a proposal for additional work which seemed to us to be overpriced and to exceed our needs.

I emailed them the first week when I was ready to have them to do the work. I never got a response. I called them, no answer and I left a message. A week later I still did not hear back from them. I emailed them again to see if they were ready to do the work. No response. I once more decided to call them, no answer, I left a voicemail and to this date I still have not heard back from this company.

I am really impressed at the quality work and efficiency of this company. Not only they are meticulous, they are very skilled and versatile. Chris has the gift of visualizing your ideas and turning them into a reality. I was stranded with a gallery project I run. I had a previous handyman service which didnt know how to finish the work. Chris and his assistant showed up, walk thru with me, took notes and within 24 hrs he sent an estimate. The price was ok, considering the emergency and the quality I require in my work. I had no problem in hiring them. They worked day and night, they kept me up to date about the progress. I knew right away they were good. And that I shouldn't worry about my project. Thanks to them and their effort I was able to have the gallery ready.I highly recommend them, dont hesitate in calling them.

Chris was very helpful. When he visited us for an estimate, he gave us many options and took the time to explain the process. We could tell he was very engaging and motivated in performing the work. I understand why it took him a while to visit us and provide me an estimate. He's very busy due to work. Once we received it, we were a bit nervous about hiring. We were afraid we was going to be like the prior contractor we had to kick out. Turns out we were impressed since day one. They mobilize very fast, and started working right away. Within 2 days we saw good progress. He procured all of the kitchen materials, he insisted from the beginning to allow him to handle everything. His highly skilled and qualified tradesmen are punctual, polite, respectful and hard workers. He works along them, runs the jobs, brings the material. He inspects the work and makes corrections before handing it over. You can tell they are very busy however they are worth the wait and every penny you spend in them is a great investment. 
He also finished the work on time and within budget, I had to do a few changes to the finish work but he charged me reasonable for the change order. I will be calling them back very soon to continue renovations in my house.

While it took a while for Chris to call me back after first contacting him, I am very glad I waited for him.  I needed wallpaper to be removed in the entry way and an adjacent gallery, the walls replastered and painted, and baseboards replaced after a floor had been laid.  Additionally, I needed a track lighting system to be installed in the gallery: this entailed having a block wall channelled for electric conduit to be brought up to the ceiling, crown molding removed and replaced.  My wife and I are very particular about workmanship.  Chris' crew came promptly every day, and their workmanship is excellent, and they left the job clean and neat every day they were on the job.  If you are looking for skilled workmen who can achieve excellent finish work, York Deco is the company for you.
I am currently having Chris' company return to do some additional painting in other rooms.
Be prepared for frustration getting a response to your initial call.  However once Chris comes out, contact is much improved.  And, as I said before, the wait is worth the quality of workmanship.
