SHADOW HILL LANDSCAPE

Shadow Hill drew up a plan for replacing the concrete side walk with pavers and redoing all the plantings in front of the house. The job was done as promised and on time. We had one planting which died and Shadow Hill asked us to wait until Spring to replace it. When Spring arrived so did they and the dead tree was replaced at no cost to us. They did a beautiful job and we would not hesitate to hire them again.

This was a major stone patio project constructed by Shadow Hill on 3 levels with grill island, gas fire pit, and landscape lighting. I am declining to provide the cost of the project but it was a substantial sum, as anyone who has built a new patio might suspect. We invited Shadow Hill to bid based on the outcome of a similar patio project they did at a friend's home. We are exceptionally pleased with the work and the (almost) completed project. The owner Dan Milke is a very experienced craftsman who was on the job site just about every day, and his crew was great too. They worked extremely hard and took great care to keep the area neat and trim throughout the course of the project. They are constantly measuring and leveling to make sure everything will turn out just right. I had my own ideas about the general outline of the patio and its features, and Dan was great at working with my ideas and adding all the details that help make the patio special. We had a deadline we had to meet for this patio, and despite starting a bit later than we anticipated, once the job started they stayed at it for days on end until completed. The only thing we are still waiting for at this point is fire glass to arrive and gas to be hooked up.

We were remodeling the front porch of the house and wanted to finish it off with new landscaping before a big event to be held in our yard. The landscaping was last and with everything that was happening we were not sure when the landscaping could be done and unfortunately contacting Shadow Hill occurred later than it should have. In spite of the time frame being shorter than they would have liked it was finished well ahead of time and even before they had originally promised.

Dan walked us around their inventory to get a feel for what plants we liked then visited our site to look over the area and understand what we were looking for. Then he selected plants and designed a layout to bring it all together. They were fast, professional and did a quality job. The design, plants selected and execution produced a look that nicely complemented the new look of the house for a reasonable price. The new look received many complements at least partly because of the landscaping. What more can you ask for.

These people were great at what they do, just not easy to pin down regarding scheduling. It was necessary for me to contact the office several times to set a date and to determine when/whether they were returning. However, they did a great job on my property and I was very pleased with the results.

I would make sure to get a commitment date that Shadow Hill Landscape is going to start by, because it took them a while to get to me. Once they got here they did a good job in a timely manner. The workers were very good. The quality of the job is excellent.
