Welcome to West Side Movers! My name is Matt Fiore and I am the owner of my family’s multi-generation moving and storage company. Our mission is to be the best NYC mover – known for our top quality moving services and boutique level of attention to detail. Many of our clients are repeat customers, moved with us before, or have been referred by friends and family. We often move different generations within the same family: parents, adult children and their grandchildren. We are located on The Upper West Side yet we service all neighborhoods in NYC including long distance from NYC to anywhere within the United States. Our team consists of experienced movers who work together regularly throughout the year.

When providing estimates over the phone we state our hourly rates, prices for boxes, and fees for any additional services required (ex. disassembly and reassembly, or piano). Our estimate's over the phone are based on the accuracy of information dictated to us regarding furniture items, dimensions, number of boxes, packing (if needed) and building conditions. The actual cost may differ based on the reality of these circumstances yet our rates, box prices and fees for additional services remain unchanged on moving day. "Dear Customer; Thank you for giving our company an overall rating of A. I would like to clarify our tipping policy. Tips are appreciated but totally voluntary. It is customary to show appreciation when a job is well done. Industry standard is usually 15% to 20% of the labor. Whatever you decide to give is given to the crew chief, who distributes the amount equally among the team. We instruct our men only to mention tips if asked. I will review that policy with my staff. "Dear Customer; Thank you for using our service. I have looked into the details of your move to understand why there was such a disparity between what you thought you would pay and the actual cost. No one likes surprises such as this on moving day, which is already stressful. You had a phone estimate which is why we can only provide you with a probable cost. Your "Probable Cost" was $660 based on you being packed prior to move. In fact our movers had to do packing which took three hours and $214 in packing material which included crating.This brought your bill up to $1200. Whatever you gave in tips is not included. "Dear [member name removed]; I understand how difficult being flooded out of your apartment must be and how hard it is to have to be relocated in order to have the damages repaired. We were called by you to relocate you to a hotel and place your items in storage while repairs were done. We have tried to work with you in the best way we know how. Although initially you wrote ‘Overall, my move went well and I particularly thought that Patrick, the older fellow, did an excellent job with all of my delicate things, you complained that some of our movers used your expensive soap to wash their hands and left a soda can with cigarette butts on the floor. Although none of our movers smoke, and there were contractors working in your apartment, I personally agreed to take $100 off of your storage bill-- which you agreed to. In an attempt to satisfy your claim that we damaged your furniture we sent a highly skilled furniture restorer to fix all the damages you stated we caused-- which cost us $500 out of pocket. In addition, you are requesting another $600, threatening that if we did not do so you would write a bad review on Angie's List. With all due respects, we feel that we have acted professionally and honorably.
