THE CONTAINER STORE

My experience with the Container Store was very good.  In terms of the design process, it can really vary.  When I first investigated doing my closet, the original designer with whom I worked was frustrating.  I left the store disappointed, thinking the components would not work for my space.  The Elfa sale is what enticed me to go back, and I'm glad I did!  The new designer was MUCH improved!  He was very innovative, and made suggestions I would not have come up with myself.  He also displayed patience, which was much appreciated -- closets are a big investment these days, and I wanted to make sure I was doing it right.
The installation portion was fantastic.   The department who arranges the appointments called to see if I needed a Certificate of Insurance for my co-op, and had it faxed to my managing agent within an hour.  The installer arrived on time, and was very professional.  There were a few things he wanted me to see, as even in the hour of installation, there were some choices available to make.  He gave me his input as well, and I felt it was a collaborative effort.  The process was swift -- I think it took all of a few hours, and happily, I had a new closet!
As far as the materials, I felt that the drawers were a little flimsy, however, this is nothing I didn't know before I decided to include them in the design.  That said, one was bent upon arrival, and I still have to take it back to be replaced.  I also have to reiterate, Elfa is not inexpensive, even when it's on sale, but overall, I am very satisfied.  No surprises at all, and I feel like I definitely made a very good investment.  I would consider using Elfa products and the Container Store again, should the need arise.
