The sales man was nice and seemed knowledgeable. We did very little bargaining for a better price, because we trusted the salesman and we were in a rush to get the bed. The sale took about 20 minutes. The mattress seemed nice, with hope my mother would like it, it was delivered on time. My felt the bed was not comfortable and cost too much, but you can't go by her. My mother showed me a lump in the middle of the top of the mattress. I tried to see if it could be smoothed out,but it couldn't be done. I called the Sleepy's company that portrays itself as good quality and with customer satisfaction, to report the problem and they quickly sent an inspector out to take pictures of the mattress. The box spring was there already, but he photographed it too, although it looked good. I can see there was a slight bow down of the box spring, but nothing that would push up and cause a bump on the top of the mattress. Today I spoke with a clerk over the phone, who read the notes on my warranty claim, saying that the cause of the bump was the box spring. A "real easy way out". There was no consideration of any other possible circumstances or factors with concern for the problem. It was all about the sale and money, no "customer satisfaction".. I will try tomorrow to speak to a manager, but they don't have one at the stores. I will not just give up, although I may have to. I will take it to NBC TV consumer problems. Spoke with supervisor who quickly exchanged mattress for a better, but cheaper one, no difference returned, had to pick items to make up difference. Mother is happy with mattress, we got some sheet sets and all is better.
Description of Work: Bought a mattress quickly for my 98yr old mother at the closest Sleepy's in Glen, Oaks, NY, because she suddenly had a move to an assisted living situation, where there was no bed.

It was great for about 2 weeks then mattress started to sag. after another week or so it started to hurt our backs. We could not SEE the sag or the high ridge that went down the middle og the bed from top to bottom, just felt it when you laid on the mattress.We called for warranty and after a week the "inspector" showed up and "measured the bed", 2 weeks later they replaced the "foundation". This didn't solve the problem and we again called the main office for warranty service. They said that we could get some money back if we upgraded , or we could wait another month for the measurements to be worse. They seemed to want us to spend more money for a solution to the problem. I told them that it hurt our backs but that didn't seem to mean anything to them. When I lay on my back, my hips are sunk so much that my hips are almost level with the top of the mattress. the rest of my body lays on top of the mattress. I will not buy at Sleepys again.
Description of Work: Bought Carolina mattress and "foundation" from Oceanside store. Was delivered as promised.

They provided excellent prices, very good service, and they had the product I wanted. Their sub-contractors delivered the matress and weren't told they would be taking my old mattress and frame. They had to call Sleepy's to make sure they were supposed to take the old one. They offered no interest or financing for 2 years.
