New York Wood Flooring

I would give them 0 starts if i could. I hired them a year ago to replace a small portion of the flooring that had water damage and re-finish all the flooring so it would match. Horrible mistake. They had to re-sand one room twice because the sander created lines in the floor the first time. The floor re-warped in the area they replaced because the sub-floor was not also replaced. The molding was ruined from the machinery and over sanding the floor. For two weeks after, my floors popped trying to resettle and some of boards have even cracked. In the end, they broke more than they fixed. Some examples include, a cabinet broken off the hinge, a huge gap between the new wood and a door was left and then filled with putty, a corner was missed when sanding, the poly was sloppy, etc. They made minimal efforts to rectify and fix the work. I hired them because they seemed reputable with a large foot print in New York and now I will need to hire a different company eventually to fix their mistakes.

While moving the murphy bed they damaged the ceiling fan and refused to admit fault until I showed them a video. Glue was found in the toilet and sink. They installed the floors over a hot water pipe without insulation and now the floors have cracks and gaps.

I think I only got a bid from them; it was okay. It was a little high, but they were not available when I needed them, so I probably went with someone else.They could improve on I guess the availability or pricing. It's possible that I would consider using them in the future.

I really liked them. They have a lot of integrity and really listened to me and tried to address my concerns and try to provide solutions to what I needed. I did not want to do the whole floor I did not do the 2 back room just some and the steps and risers.

I contacted their brooklyn rep and made an appointment for a estimate and he cancelled. We attempted to make a 2nd appointment and he failed to show up or even call to cancel.

Very well. These guys did a beautiful job of blending where old and new finish met. The refinished floor looks great. One minor problem was that they splashed the finish on a few baseboards . I needed to repaint baseboards anyway, so this wasn't a big issue. Other than this, the job was done efficiently and to a high standard. They did a great job of keeping the dust off everything and a very thorough clean up

Horribly. Price for wood was higher than others were charging. I was told the job would certainly be done by a certain date, and it was not, even though I made absolutely clear that it had to be (we were moving in on that date). This was due to incompetence as to how long the job would take as well as incredibly poor management of the workers. The workers were not properly informed of what the job was (if I had not shown up each day to see what they were doing, they wouldn't have placed the new floor under built-in shelving, even though that was part of the contract), showed up late sometimes, and cut corners to get the job done quickly (as one example, they left on the last day without reattaching a door; plenty more). The company (whose contact I will not name) was not particularly helpful or understanding once it became clear that the project was becoming a disaster, and did not offer anything for all my troubles. The one positive is that the work that was done was generally good quality, though again, I was the one who had to make sure the correct job was done and corners were cut even with my oversight.

The owner himself (Tony) came to the apartment the day after I called. We discussed options, he took measurements, did calculations for a few minutes, and gave me three quotes (for different options) on the spot. He was polite, professional and seemed to know exactly what he was talking about. He also followed up a week later when he hadn't heard from me. We scheduled the job for the following week. He estimated 3-4 days; it was done in two. It was refreshing to deal with this company after consulting with several others that told me the fix couldn't be done easily, gave me much much higher quotes, and stopped returning my calls. It was relatively small job -- and I went with the simplest and less expensive repair option -- and I was pleased to be treated with just as much respect as someone who had a much bigger project. The price was extremely fair, the process was painless, and the floor looks great.

I can't say enough good things about this company. From the beginning, they were prompt, professional, and very responsive to every question and concern. The estimates they gave me were very reasonable (another company wanted more than twice as much to complete the same work) and they stuck to them. At every step of the way, they did everything necessary to complete the job, and never cut any corners, even when it meant the work took a little longer than originally anticipated. The solid walls in the apartment are quite old and had not been painted in many years. Zoran and his team took the time to carefully do all the patching, plastering and skim coating work that was necessary to get the job done right. Now that the work has been finished, the walls look brand new and no one could guess the condition they had been in before we started. I would not hesitate to use this company again or recommend them to anyone else. 

NY Wood Flooring helped me with installing a new hardwood floor for a 1 bedroom apartment.  I attribute my positive experience to Anthony and his team.  They did a beautiful job.  I got the sense that Anthony and the team genuinely wanted to ensure that I picked my favorite hardwood and that I loved the final product.  They were very responsive to any of my questions and feedback through-out the process.  They were also professional and familiar with the New York condo situation (i.e. started-finished according to schedule, worked according the condo rules, and efficiently handled the management paperwork).

Anthony did the evaluation at our apartment for sanding and refinishing 3 large rooms and a portion of our living room area   - the estimate - originally $3000, was incredibly reasonable given the other estimates we received.  Anthony had a wonderful manner about him and seemed genuinely interested in giving us a fair price. for the work  Anthony's guys, led by Martin, came over and did an exceptional job.  We made a few changes to the work and Anthony and the team were very accommodating.  We found them truly gracious, incredibly professional, very neat, and stellar workers.  I cannot recommend New York Wood Flooring enough.  The work turned out beautifully, and the patches which they repaired for us turned out much better than anything Anthony had promised.

I was amazed how quickly they got the job done, and how BEAUTIFUL the floors look now.  Bravo, New York Wood Flooring.  NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER.

Prompt service and friendly helpful workers.

An entirely positive experience.  The cost was reasonable, the crew showed up on time, and they did exactly what they were supposed to do.  The floors now look beautiful.
