Very well. The only thing holding up the renovation was the building and the city, once we got all the approvals, the renovation took four months, which is exactly what MyHome estimated at the outset. In my experience that's very fast for a gut renovation of a good-sized apartment. Because the company does everything, planning, paperwork for approvals, and all of the construction, and because it uses mostly it's own work crews, it can coordinate each phase of the job efficiently. There was never a moment where there were no workers in the apartment. The person supervising the work kept in close contact with me, letting me know what was up, what was coming next, asking me questions, giving good advice.

It went great. Ben provided the best design ideas for my limited space, including tearing down a wall to create more space and adding more cabinets to give me more counter space and more storage. The job couldn't have gone more smoothly--I have heard and read horror stories of jobs taking months, they completed the entire project in 3 weeks. Yes, three weeks. The amount of work they completed each day was amazing and Ben and his crew delivered the project to me in less time than we anticipated and the amount of money spent was on par with what I expected to pay. They also couldn't have been more informative and more helpful with any and all questions I had-- even the silly one's like what do I do to clean the counter tops once they're installed. I've recommended them to several friends and actually will be hiring them again to do more work when needed.

MyHome did an excellent job. My husband and I chose them because of their process in helping us with the original design and assigning us a project manager that was solely dedicated to our apartment. We had an idea of what we wanted but the MyHome team helped us realize our dream. I couldn't have done it without the designer who spent a lot of time with me picking out all the details of our new kitchen, even the paint color! The work itself couldn't have gone more smoothly. The project manager kept me informed each and every day on where we were in the time-line of the project. The workers kept everything clean and were incredibly professional. MyHome was right on target with the time-line of the project. When we decided to renovate our bathrooms we will certainly use MyHome.

On 11/05/07, we contracted with MyHome for our kitchen/powder room renovation. Demolition began 01/21/08 & we have been without a kitchen since due to MyHome s consistent negligence, ineptitude & deceit. We ve kept a detailed log of the project, but here are a few notable facts: MyHome worked a total of 15 days in the 80 days they were on the project. MyHome did not adequately protect the spaces adjoining the work site from dust/debris. MyHome left us without water in main bath for 2 days. MyHome admitted not measuring the location of steam pipes/plumbing & then tried to charge us for changes when these issues were discovered. MyHome refused to itemize the labor costs. They said that the number was FINAL even if an unexpected load-bearing wall were to be discovered. Yet, they kept trying to go over the cost of incidentals. MyHome said that they would provide their own uniformed, professional, trained workers for our job. Instead they sent unprofessional & incompetent subcontractors, some of whom they admitted to never having used before. MyHome framed the kitchen incorrectly. We sent MyHome a letter noting our concerns & met with them to work out an agreement. At first, this seemed to work. Most of the demo was completed & the framing was done. MyHome requested a third installment of $6500 per the labor contract. We said that given they have only worked 4 full days & 3 partial days, a re-evaluation of the payment schedule is in order. Between 02/25 03/05, insulation, drywall, tile & painting were done. On 03/06, MyHome finally unpacked & laid out the cabinets. It was revealed that: Additional framing errors were made, Cabinets were the wrong size &/or color, Cabinets were damaged, Cabinets/pieces were missing. It was determined that cabinets could not be installed at this time & replacements needed to be reordered. On 04/03, two base cabinet replacements (without doors) were delivered & installed so that counter-top template could be made. We expressed concerns regarding the quality of installation & further damages to cabinets, but MyHome never addressed them. On 04/08, MyHome & a representative from the cabinet manufacturer inspected the cabinets. The manufacturer requested this inspection because of MyHome s damage claims. Upon viewing the quality of the installation thus far, the cabinet rep was skeptical that damages came from the manufacturer. He said that MyHome had had these cabinets in their possession for months. He doesn't know how many times they've been moved nor how they were stored & handled. He said that the responsibility lies with MyHome. On 04/09, we sent MyHome a certified letter stating that MyHome had 2 weeks from receipt to complete the kitchen or we would proceed with legal action. Except for a text message from the head of production saying "I got the letter," we never heard from them. Now we are in a legal battle with them to get our money & our lives back.

First of all, it is very expensive and the quality of work is not that good. The job was supposed to take 8-10 weeks and ended up being done in 6 months. There plumbing skills were lacking. Things were ordered incorrectly and not followed up on. They draw you in by with their fancy showroom and pamphlets but when it comes down to it they have huge problems with communication within the company and nobody knows what the other is doing. There probably are some really good "remodeling consultants and project managers" that work there but I was stuck with 2 losers. My "project manager" never came to site unless I called to him to tell him about mistakes that were made. Some of the front office people try to be helpful but when it comes down to it what you get is not the quality of work you expect after spending so much money. The crew was very nice and courteous but had not guidance and therefore did not do quality work, had floor in bathroom replaced twice, put in incorrect.

A nightmare. Told it was a four week job. At six months it was not complete. When workers showed up (often they did not) they were different people each time. Incorrect materials were used. They initially applied regular plaster board rather than "green" board (mildew proof) on the walls - that had to be removed. The custom mosaic tiles were not installed correctly - did not butt at corners and were not plumb. They had to be removed and replaced (that is ordered again from Italy). During the demolition, there was no provision for protecting the rest of the apartment. There was dust everywhere and they damaged the wood floors. The worker hung their coats on expensive art work they placed on the floor. The design for the shower was not correct so water flooded out into the hall. The grout continues to crack. Thanks to my designer, the overall look is great. The quality of the finished product is only fair. The time and energy I spent on this project was ridiculous.

They did a very good job on the remodeling. Everything looks great and as I wanted it to look. The only thing that bothered me a bit was that it took them a little longer than was planned. It got me upset for a while, but then I just had to understand that these things take time and that sometimes it will take a little longer because of problems that could be encountered on the way. Other than that the job was very nice and very clean. They did a good a job not leaving any wastes and things like that in the bathroom area.

We were in the process of buying a co-op in Queens, NY, needing renovation of kitchen and 2 baths, painting and floor refinish for entire unit. Needed to get a labor and materials estimate to help us with our bid on the apartment. The rep. said he could provide this; I provided a floor plan and dimensions. His preliminary estimate was $48K. Wife & I took a second 1 hour meeting with him, discussed materials. I asked for another preliminary estimate, showing labor costs, plus material costs in 3 grades of quality. He promised this in 2 days. One week later, he provided a boilerplate letter describing their "services", with a labor only estimate of $48,500. Use these people only if someone else is paying the bill or if money is no object. They offer a small showroom with limited products; they purport to be NYC experienced general contractors; they aren't. We're so glad we went no further with "my home". We got nothing, at least we paid nothing but time. Avoid Avoid Avoid.

Overall is was a very positive experience. Lasha and his crew showed up on time when they promised. Each and every day they cleaned up at the end of the workday which kept the mess to a minimum. They are true craftsmen. The tile work (both floor and backsplash) was done beautifully and I am a graphic design who loves perfection! The project was on time and within budget. No hidden costs, no contractor caused delays. The workers were courteous and pleasant. Although renovating anywhere is stressful (especially when you are living there), My Home representatives were readily available for questions and to ease my way through the process. I'd definitely use them again.

My Home was perfect for working professionals like us; as their all-in-one service made the renovation process as painless as renovations go. We would like to commend our project manager, Osh, in particular. He is just wonderful in every way: realistic: unlike other contractors we have experienced, Osh always under-promised, but over-delivered. They were resourceful: Osh always suggested good solutions to problems that not only satisfied our style requirements, but also stayed within our budget. They were responsive: he always responded within hours if not minutes! Responsible: Osh made sure that the results were as we discussed. When they made a mistake, they either fixed it or gave us credit for their mistakes. We would truly recommend Osh and My Home to anyone!

Ben was always available to answer our questions, accommodating when it came to appointments and the crew was courteous, careful and talented. We will definitely be using them for our next renovation project.

My home does an initial survey of the kitchen. We went to the showroom, selected cabinets, appliances, tiles, the countertop, back-splash tiles. (With input from Ben.) Within two weeks we had our estimate. Plans were then submitted to the board for approval. (About six weeks later, we received approval and all the materials were ordered. This took about six weeks. When all materials were in, we scheduled work beginning two weeks later. The work area was sealed off, the gutting took about three days. The full job took about three and a half weeks. The contractors were very professional and detail oriented. Everything was installed and constructed to perfection. Due to a glitch in ordering, the countertop was installed a few weeks after the rest of the kitchen was finished. (We had a plywood top for a while.) We also did need to change our refrigerator order since the original refrigerator did not fit in the designed space. This was handled quickly.

It went well at first. The designer was great. He came to see my current bathrooms. Met me in their showroom to choose the new tile and fixtures. They assigned me a project manager who I thought would work well. The contractors started work in the summer while I was away. Twelve weeks into an eight week project my walls were still being tiled. I moved back into my apartment living in the living room. Eight weeks later and two contractors later the floor was installed and in both bathrooms was horribly uneven. Once again they brought in a new contractor...they replaced the floor twice and it is still uneven in areas. They never made it completely right. The saddles are too high into the bathrooms and I need to fix my carpet so I can stop tripping over them. It was a HORRIBLE experience. I would NEVER use them again.

MyHome does beautiful work. The project was fun to plan, and it was completed on time and slightly under-budget. Since the completion of the project, MyHome has been consistently available to help with small projects. The service this company performs is the best I have ever experienced or heard about.

Not good. I had been planning the renovation for over a year, and had a pretty good idea of what I wanted. Once the $500 deposit was paid, the lines of communication with the Project Manager pretty much ceased, and there were very few with the assigned designer. The designer seemed to have his own agenda as far as what my bathroom would look like, and pretty much ignored addressing any of the specific concerns I had. Once I got the computer-rendered (using 20/20 software) design, the dimensions as well as the scale of the room were completely off. I wasn't about to pay $500 for that, and by then (2 months after my initial contact) I had a bad taste in my mouth about them. Eventually, they did offer to refund my $500 design fee, which took another month to get. The back-office people seemed to be much easier to deal with than the PM/GC and Designer, though. I did receive a follow-up call from customer service, and was assured that the issues I experienced would be reviewed & addressed.

This company failed to provide competent project supervision, failed to provide competent subcontractors, installed "roughed in" plumbing that was not connected to the existing waste lines but allowed water to pour through the floor, failed to install marble tile without scratching it, proved incapable of ever delivering materials weeks after it collected payment for them in full, failed to disclose substantial markups that it charged for and collected on materials, failed to specify correct materials that met the requirements of the job, failed to protect the area where it stored materials from permanent damage and staining, and took 17 weeks to complete the job (and then the job was "complete" only because I could not stand them in my house for one more day). When it was all over they attempted to "inflate" their final invoice. They were deplorable in every way and should be avoided at all costs.

Once completed, the work was ok with a few exceptions. They were months behind schedule and tried to cut a few corners, which I insisted they fix. After haggling and negotiating, they complied with most of my complaints. I found a serious lack of communication between the ''designer'', the project manager and the guys actually doing the work. As for scheduling, it was the last 20% of the job that took the longest - it seemed to me that they would not show up unless they had another reason to be in the area. I've never heard of a good remodelling experience so I'm not sure if this is better or worse than average. I strongly suggest that you tie them down to a fixed timeframe in your contract.

Very expensive, not high quality. They did finish the job on time, which was important to me, but the price was too high for some of the shoddy work done. The ceilings came out fine, but the hardwood floors have marks left from sanding in several areas. The painters did not tape & cut out throughout the apartment, & wall color paint was all over moldings, towel bars, & tile. They broke a light fixture & did not tell me; I had to find out on my own. Then they tried to get out of paying for it! Also, they painted my living room the wrong color... a completely different color than the one I had chosen. The design consultant was inexperienced & not very helpful.

Interior design consultant was 45 minutes late for first home appointment. A preliminary report was promised within 72 hours; design consultant did not show up for appointment at showroom. Showroom designers were unable to consult, as there was no report. Subsequently the original designer emailed report. There was a labor estimate of over $12,000; no materials costs included, and there was no mention of window treatments at all. A follow-up explanation left on my answering machine explained this is how they work and labor estimates were within reason. The overall encounter was very unprofessional, and no one contacted me further to work out the issues. Obviously they were not interested in my business.
