MANHATTAN ALIGNMENT & DIAGNOSTIC CENTER

We have a Toyota Highlander. This was the second time I had come to this place instead of the local dealer, Toyota of Manhattan. I really don't think I will ever go to the dealer again. The first time, I had taken the car into the the Toyota dealer for a tune-up. They told me about some undercarriage work that they found (in one of the "scoping for dollars" jobs that they do every time you bring the car in) needed to be done that would cost $1200. I decided to take it to Manhattan Alignment to get a second opinion. Aaron told me that the part (I forget what it was) just looked old (the car has 90k+ miles on it) but was functionally fine. Then he found that the car was under-performing because it needed new spark plugs, that the plugs were never changed. I had him do this, and the car performed with better pickup and gas mileage, and it didn't cost much. The dealer never checked the plugs over the roughly five years I had been bringing it there. This time, the left rear brake light was not working and there was a noise coming from one of the cabin vents. He fixed the brake light for $25 plus $4 for the bulb. He found debris in one of the blowers and cleaned it out. Total charge was probably about half what the dealer would have charged for this. He also let me leave the car overnight, something else the dealer would have tried to charge me for. Oh, and when I came the next morning to pick up the car, it was started and ready to go with the seat warmed up; I didn't have to wait in the lounge for them to bring it down. Aaron is a class act and I'm not going back to the dealer again. Honest service, reasonable prices, and he's near the #1 train.

My 2005 Camry had developed a bad shimmy over 60 mph that wouldn't go away...Toyota service told me "tires couldn't be balanced". Two other garages told me it was fixed...but it wasn't. I found Manhattan Alignment via a web search and boy, does it deserve the 5 star reviews! Nathan told me that I had actually managed to bend the rims, thanks to some NYC and NJ potholes. He re-balanced the tires, put the bad wheels in the back and said I should drive it and see if I could live with it this way. He also noted my brakes were close to the end of their life span but didn't need to be done just yet. As it was close to closing, I asked about payment since I wouldn't get back in time from the test drive to settle the bill. His response--"Drive it first, and if you don't want the wheels replaced you can pay me next week". After my test drive, I felt it was much better but not perfect so I decided to replace the wheels and get the brakes done. When I came to pick it up, Nathan assured me he had solved the problem. When I asked how he was so sure, he replied "Because I drove it!" Never have I had any other NYC repair shop drive my car in their attempts to fix a problem. And he was right; the car drives better than ever.! My only "complaint" is that now I find myself going 70 in a 55 zone as it drives so smoothly I don't notice how fast I'm going! And one more thing--they called today to see if I was happy with the repair. Will NEVER go anywhere else!.

Nathan @ the shop was courteous, professional and communicated really well throughout my service process. I was impressed with the service overall and the quality of work received. The car was returned to me washed, vacuumed and wiped clean. What a nice surprise!

Nothing but good things to say.
The first nice surprise was that I never expected to find an affordable auto shop here in Manhattan. At other times I've lived in the city, I've always taken the car out to Brooklyn or New Jersey to a place that specialized in Toyotas (or whatever kind of car I had at the time). However, after speaking with Aaron at Manhattan Alignment I felt confident that they would take care of the car just fine, which they absolutely did--it's driving great. And how wonderful to be able to travel less than five miles from my house without the hassle of bridges and tunnels.
But that's just part of the story. The other has to do with the excellent customer service, which was not just courteous and efficient but flat out friendly (not such a given in NYC).  I mentioned Aaron, one of the co-owners, above. He was totally flexible about when I could bring the car in and basically said yes to everything I requested. Also, George, the manager, could not have been more helpful and accommodating. I was allowed to keep the car in the shop an extra day at no charge so I could pick it up in order to be on time to snag my usual alternate-side-of-the-street parking spot.
I guess it's apparent that I was very happy and satisfied with my experience at Manhattan Alignment and I shall certainly use them in future when the occasion arises.

When it comes to fixing issues with your car, knowing that you can trust the mechanic you select is extremely important!!  After being involved in a rear end collision, I immediately went to Manhattan Alignment and Diagnostic Center to figure out what type of damage my vehicle sustained.   It was quite evident i needed a new rear bumper and my muffler was not in great condition, making odd noises and it was bent.  I arrived on a rainy Saturday morning for a diagnosis, and Aaron Gruber and George Colon immediately helped me. They assured me that my car would be fixed as soon as possible.   I felt 100% confident after my conversation with them that my car would be fixed and returned to great condition.  They promised and delivered their services in record time -- and now I have professionals I can trust with my vehicle!  I am extremely happy with the attention they provided to me.   I will definitely return for general vehicle care and maintenance and oil changes, etc.  They are extremely knowledgable, helpful and very nice people to deal with. Most importantly, they are very honest.   I will recommend Manhattan Alignment and Diagnostic Center to anyone who needs vehicle repairs and maintenance in the future.

My first thought when I walked in to Manhattan Alignment & Diagnostic was, "why haven't I always been bringing my car here?" It just had the look and feel of "the right place." And, based on the small job my car needed, this was completely correct. One of the guys drove me the few blocks to the subway so he could hear with me what the sound was, a few hours later I got a call at work telling me what the problem had been and that the car was fixed, and when I went to pick the car up at the end of the day they had only charged me for half an hour of labor. The total bill, including tax, was $53.89!
I've lost count of the car shops I've been to in the city where unprofessionalism, sleaziness and a vague aura of dishonesty pervaded the place. I am extremely gratified to have found Manhattan Alignment & Diagnostic, where they seem to really know what they're doing and, at least as important, clearly understand the importance of treating their customers right, with an eye toward repeat business. I have every intention of making them "my garage" for the future.

Oil change tune up

They were very professional and made good personal contact.
On the phone they asked me about my car and driving and were willing to give me suggestions about which tires were the best for me and my driving and which tires were made by which company, even though they did not carry the company's brand name.  I had done some research and they were able to talk about what they could supply of equal quality.  This phone conversation resulted in an estimate and job description, so that when I arrived they had my information and were ready to do the work.
So when I arrived they took me immediately and were done within the time frame they promised.
I have been driving on these tires for at least 2 weeks and they feel very solid.

I was afraid to drive my car because the all the lights on the dashboard would light up, the speed and the car temperature levels would drop, the car would become unresponsive when applying the gas.  There was no way of knowing when this would happen, but happen it did. My car dealership checked this out and found nothing, I took my car to Manhattan alignment because of the great reviews on Angie's list. It was the best decision I ever made regarding my car.  My car was okay at first, but when the lights lit up again, I called Aaron and he said bring it over. He had done some investigation on the problem with my car, he found other PT Cruiser owners that experienced the same problem and remedies they sought.  He had my ignition switch removed and replaced, and he even arranged a discount for me!  I truly appreciate what he did for my car and for not treating me like a dumb female with a car. This is my new go to place for my car. Thank You!

They are great mechanics. They very honest and do good work. They have been very dependable and reasonably priced. We couldn’t have asked for better mechanics.

They are awesome. I wouldn't go to anyone else.  They are professional and reasonably prcied. They do excellent work and I would highly recommend them.

They helped me out with the dent without any extra cost. They didn't totally fix it but the dent was sort of getting in the way of the door closing and opening and they just kind of popped it a little bit and solved the problem. They have a six-month maintenance service for the oil change and other stuff. I can get it cheaper somewhere else but they were very helpful. I think they did a good job all around and seemed to care about the car. I would go there again.
