The representative was on time, courteous, and thorough. Offered annual service contract, included cleaning and saved me a few bucks as well. I continue to be impressed by HUB and am pleased that there are never any surprises.

Except for the price, it was a great experience. I called, the person answering the phones was great, cheerful and friendly. I got an appointment for exactly when I wanted it. The guys showed up on time, were careful not to track dirt or mud into my home, were professional and courteous. They did the work in less than 45 minutes, including the estimate and paperwork.

He was the third plumber to look at the leak and was finally the one that was able to resolve it. He was able to come out a day after I called. He was very professional and respectful of the household. Every time he was in our home he wore booties, so he would not track dirt into the house. He was very clear about everything that he was doing and gave me a price before he began the work. Overall I was very pleased.

He was very good. He came when he said he would. The service was under the estimated cost. He was very nice and polite, and he cleaned up well after himself.

This was the first time I had used their services. He got right back to me and he came out the next day and had everything with him on his truck. It took him about four or five hours to do the work. I am absolutely satisfied and he will be my plumber from now on. He even cleaned up afterward!

Great, very responsive! We plan to use them again in the future. It was one of the best experiences I have had with a plumber. He wore booties in the house. He was very knowledgeable and well versed.

Finding a great neighborhood plumber is like looking for a unicorn. In Philip George, we have found a unicorn. We phoned him at 8:45 am, he was at our door by 9:45 am and the problem (a washing machine drain pipe that was clogged and needed snaking) was solved by 10:30 am. Capable and reliable, and a nice guy to boot. Thanks to Angie's List for introducing us.

This is among the worst companies with which we have ever dealt. Our main drain collapsed, requiring investigative work to determine the location and extent of the problem, and eventually drilling, and new pipe placement. It was a horrible experience, made all the more horrible by Hub Plumbing. Hub came out originally to clean out the drain, which they did, and then utilized the camera to determine the extent of the problem. We paid $1,750 for the service they did provide, and Hub then quoted us $6,666 to drill in our driveway to determine the full extent of the problem and/or place a small stretch of pipe and then re-patch the area. They quoted another $30-40,000 for the fix if it required drilling out to the street to either repair or replace the main drain (price would depend on which). This type of work is not covered by homeowner's insurance. I was in tears, and my husband and I were in crisis mode, trying to find other quotes and/or how we would pay. Nevertheless, the completely uncouth and insensitive manager was INCREDIBLY PUSHY and PREDATORY, and kept imploring us to use them asap before we could get other quotes. Even worse, he pressured us with comments like (to me, a lawyer) "well, you can afford it, you're a law-" (stopping himself) and (to my husband, a surgeon), "it's like surgery, you know..." We didn't tell him our jobs. He had done his research, saw dollar signs, and tried to take advantage of us in a difficult time. With a $30,000-$40,000 quote, any reasonable person would understand not wanting to rush into the contract! (We eventually moved out of our house for several weeks while we sought other quotes and had the work done.) We ended up going with someone on Boston Water & Sewer's bonded contractor list and paid $3,000 for the driveway work and $15,000 for the full installation of a main drain out to the street. We had several quotes and they were all much less than Hub. Oh-- one last insult-- while they were doing the work they did, Hub Plumbing blew a fuse in our basement, & replaced it with a fuse that will not allow us to turn off the lights in our basement. We have asked them to come fix it. Our basement lights have been on for 5 months. Hub admits it blew the fuse but thus far refuses to fix what they broke. We are probably going to have to pay an electrician to fix what Hub broke. Finally, Hub's billing is sketchy. They sent me an email after the work telling me that the cost was $1,785, listing the prices each part of the work they did, plus a $149.95 1-yr. service contract. When I later pointed out that I had never agreed to such a contract, Hub sent me an invoice with only a $49.95 service charge, and much higher costs for each of the prices for the work done, such that the total price paid only went down $30. Hub touts its shiny red trucks and red uniforms. Think about the overhead they must make up for in their price, and go with a company that prides itself on service.

Philip arrived with an assistant at the designated time and work quickly and efficiently to solve the problem.

I particularly like Joe Wood, who checks in every day to see how the job is going and updates me and what they are doing and why. They are prompt and he is also very helpful. They are going above and beyond the call of duty, working over the holiday to get the work done.

Since all of the problems had not been solved, he was nice enough to help me triage the work so that it would in my budget. He also gave me lots of advice on how to maintain the plumbing to get me through the project. He told me a chemical to put in the pipes keep the roots from growing. He also put socks over his shoes in order to protect my flooring. I would recommend to people.

These guys were just fabulous. We can't stress enough how good these guys were. They did everything extremely well. I am extremely please with their work. I highly recommend them, and I would also use them for future projects.

I think that their price is about average. They always do the work quickly and it's normally done correctly. They come, find the problem, and fix it. That is why we keep hiring them time and time again. Just because they are very efficient.

They are excellent. They're a little on the expensive side, but they're very professional and on time. They accommodate my work hours and I would call them again.

I felt the person wasn't that competent to give an estimate and he felt the same way.

The old installers made a mistake on the size and the way in which the pump was installed. Philip knew exactly what was wrong with the unit, fixed it pretty fast, and then ensured it was working again. He was punctual and very neat when he cleaned up.

Ours was an emergency situation because we had no heat. They came out right away and initially fixed what was needed to give us heat. They calculated what else needed to be done and came back a few days later to complete the job. They were extremely polite, conscious of the interior of my home (wore booties over their shoes), very informative, and not "pushy". The three men that came to my home (one the first visit, two the second) were A+ in my book! Their names are Elijah, Chris, and Joe. They could be poster guys for exceptional customer service!

Hub Plumbing showed up. They then proceeded to give me an estimate of all matters related to plumbing in my house. We pared down this exorbitant estimate to encompass only the work at hand. This was still exorbitant, as well as an opportunistic sales technique. Hub hinted that the old plumbing violated code, but that they will still fix it. They also hinted at other less than perfect conditions that other such workmen routinely face. Hub plumbers spent two hours on the job, one hour of which was a lunch break, but they said the job took 3 hours. Based on the time they spent and the amount of work they did $1300.00 seemed excessive. That would make their rate $450.00-$650.00 per hour. This is beyond reason. On behalf of my brother and myself, we are VERY DIS-SATISFIED they should be TAKEN OFF Angie's List. We will notify the BBB and Channel 7-TV ''Help-Me-Hank'' about these price gougers.

Very professional, inspected the entire system and made recommendations. Stated fixed price for each service before start of work. Cleaned up very well and guaranteed work for 3 years.

The pilot light went out on my renter's gas heater/furnace. The plumber had to come after hours to re-light it, and I was charged $190. The next day, it went out again, and this time, they replaced a valve. The fellow told me the first time that a valve needed to be replaced, but he didn't have any with him, so I was charged for a second visit! What's more the part cost more than $400, which I thought was ridiculous. I complained to the boss, and he said he would refund 1/2 of my original fee (or $85.00) but he hasn't done so, yet.

Very professional and prompt, even taking care that my new cat did not get out of the condo. I supplied the valve, which the plumber commented that it was "a good valve". The funny thing was that the shower handle was installed upside down, but I liked it! They covered the wall that was opened and recommended a contractor to repair the wall & tiles.
