Bakur Painting

Steve was great.  He showed up when he said he would.  He began the work on schedule and kept at it on consecutive days until it was finished.  He helped us choose colors and had good ideas.   He provided the paint and all supplies and had no trouble giving our coop managing agent the needed insurance information.  Steve's work is impeccable.  He really cares about quality.  He works efficiently but takes the time to do an excellent job.  There were no problems with messiness;  he kept all the areas very clean.  The two bathrooms required lots of scraping down and all the work was done well.   After Steve finished, we had carpeting installed in the bedroom and Steve was terrific about coming back and doing some touch up work around the baseboards (at no extra charge) for the extremely minor damage to the paint job caused by the carpet installation.  We will definitely be hiring Steve again in the near future to paint our living room and hallways.

From start to finish Steven was a pleasure to work with.  He communicated quickly both via phone and email.  He came over a few weeks before the job to do a walk-through and was very professional and honest.  I felt like the price was decent relative to the amount of detail we were asking him to do.
Ultimately we chose Steven because we felt comfortable with him and also trusted that he'd do the job to our standards.  He worked for two days and did an very good job overall.  After day 1 we asked for a few areas to be touched up and he followed up on them so that the job was totally done at the agreed upon time.
If we ever had to paint again in NYC we would certainly chose Steven and also recommend his services to friends.

Steven was a pleasure to work with during our project. We were redoing all our floors at the same time, so painting of the apartment had to be done in two shifts. Steven was able to accommodate us which we truly appreciated, and was also happy to redo certain areas or do touch-ups which were needed along the way. No arguments, no resistance, and no issue with any areas which we felt needed special care or more attention.
 

We are very happy with Steven's work on our bathroom.  Our bathroom was a mess - we had about 5 layers of peeling paint and he came in, scraped the paint down, plastered the ceiling over and painted. 
His pricing was also very reasonable for the quality of the work - we had three estimates and wound up going with Steven.  
I would use certainly use him again.

 He consulted on color and did a nice paint  job. If I called his attention to

some part of the job  that I thought  might need further attention. he was receptive.

  Based on my experience, I would use Steven again as my painter and highly

recommend him.

Steve was incredibly easy to deal with. Excellent communications. He was right on time for an estimate as well as when he came to do the job. He worked quickly and carefully. He was able to accommodate some last minute changes without any issued whatsoever. Overall he did an terrific job and is highly recommended.

Prior to moving into our new apartment, we brought Steve in to help with a paint job.  We wanted an interior painting professional that was a smaller operation and did not want three levels of separation between us and the person doing the work.  Steve won our business because he was professional, highly communicative, and quickly understood our needs.  Steve worked with us to choose paint colors to match existing wood accents and to "open up the space".  He was on time, finished ahead of schedule and was on budget.  I would highly recommend Steve's services.

It went SO WELL! Steven was absolutely fantastic to work with ? I contacted him to paint the apartment and since we didn't have a lot of furniture we requested he start ASAP - and he did! Steve is a great painter--one man operation. Only caveat is he cannot supply the documentation some strict coop boards might require.

Steve exceeded expectations. Initially, we were pleased with his reasonable estimate and gentlemanly demeanor. After he painted the first floor, we were thrilled. Steve is a true craftsman and it shows in his work. Every molding, doorway and ceiling received the same meticulous attention to detail. What impressed us the most was how he put his heart and soul into his work. He painted our home as if it were his home. He and his assistant were clean, polite and very nice, especially to our curious three year old grandson. He showed up when he said he would and the work was done when he said it would be done. As a bonus, we were also refinishing our floors and Steve recommended someone who was equally wonderful and reasonably priced, so we could coordinate the work. This was a big job and we were dreading it but it turned out to be amazing. Thank you, Steve, we are so grateful for our beautiful home.

The job started out as a simple job:Paint a few ceilings and touch up a wall. Upon further viewing and discussion we decided to paint the whole apartment. The Job was done in a professional and timely manner, but more importantly, Mr. Bakur's help in suggesting colors and contrasting color schemes was invaluable. The colors decided on for the Master Bedroom, with the two tone ceiling is spectacular. It is a shame pictures cannot be uploaded. The kitchen proved to be difficult as we wanted a specific tone to the ceiling, but Mr. Bakur was kind enough to put up with our fussiness, even though the ceiling had to be painted 3 times. However, the end result was worth it.
There was a minor amount of plastering work to be done, and it was flawlessly handled.
I strongly recommend this individual for painting work, and hope to be able to use him for one of our children's apartments.
Don't be afraid to ask him for an opinion or assistance in choosing a color. He was invaluable to us in that regard.

Steven adapted to my narrow window of opportunity between tenants (with some waffling from the tenants about timing and paint color).   He and his crew painted and patched in one day and we love the result.   I'll hire him for my next job too.

Steve is very nice to work with across the board, so we had a very good experience. He was very responsive when the initial contact was made; he came to do the estimate quickly thereafter; he gave a fair price; and did the work soon thereafter finishing before the end of the week. I hired Steve to re-paint my 1700 sq/ft apartment.  Steve is both professional and courteous.  He started and finished on-time and quality of his job was exceeding my expectation.

I am not well and well and Steven worked around my schedule.  He painted the apartment in three sections.  It is a typical Manhattan apartment - too many things and too little space.  All five bookcases are double stacked and heavy.  Moving anything in the apartment is a problem because there is just so many places that are available.  But, Steve made the job effortless.  There is not a drop of paint on anything and my apartment looks three times bigger.  A paint job is never pleasant because your life is turned upside down.  But, Steve made this paint job an easy task. 

He did a superb job, very detailed - no paint ran over and I was happy with their work.

Steve came to our apartment to give a quote at the time we wanted and provided a quote on the spot. We had just closed on a co-op so we wanted to paint before we moved in. Steve managed the co-op insurance process well and met with building requirements for work hours and other conditions. The job was completed on time and we were happy with the finish. I would recommend Steve.

He was a cool guy and it could not have gone better, and totally trustworthy.
