In 2011, the oil furnace of the house I had just bought suddenly died. Scott put in a brand new propane furnace, hot water heater, and well pump. He also removed the 1,000 pound old oil furnace that had been in the house for over 50 years, a feat in itself. Scott and his workers left my basement cleaner than it was when they found it. They were courteous and friendly throughout, and Scott educated me well about all the choices I needed to make for these major purchases. That was a stressful time--I had just bought a house, was having my kitchen torn out, and suddenly needed to make another major purchase. And I was doing it all on my own. I can honestly say that meeting Scott and having him and his workers around was the most reassuring part of that whole experience. I was so pleased with his work on the furnace that when I discovered a few months later that I needed an A/C upstairs, I didn't think to call anyone else. Again, he educated me about options, and helped me select the proper split A/C unit to meet my needs. He and his workers installed it quickly and with no problems. I have had many contractors and workers in my house, having had two bathroom renovations and a total kitchen renovation. Scott is one of only a few that I would use again. He is the epitome of reliable, trustworthy, kind, and fair. I will use his business any time I need a service they can provide, and I recommend him as often as I can. He is that rare business that I trust completely. I know he will fix my problems quickly, and I know his charges will be more than fair. I could not recommend his company more highly.

Scott was knowledgeable and answered all of the many questions I had. Our old unit had black mold in it and Scott determined that it was likely due to an improper installation and lack of maintenance from the previous owner. The team that came to install the unit was friendly and efficient. A great experience all around. Would definitely recommend them.

tThe workmanship was great and the price on par with the other three estimates we got. What makes me want to give Rycor HVAC an A++ is the honesty and integrity of Scott, the owner. Of the three companies that gave us esimates, he was the only one who told us we didn't need to replace the furnace (originally we were looking to replace the heat and hot water) saving us (and costing himself) around $5,000. On top of that, when he gave us the estimate he also adjusted our furnace so we could get more hot water while we were waiting for the new system. Plus he showed me how to bleed the radiators to improve our heat! This is one of those rarest of businesses: a business that truly puts the customer first. I give Rycor HVAC my highest recommendation. GREAT! GREAT! GREAT!

It was installed well. It is a great unit. The Rycor professionals are courteous, knowledgeable and considerate. There were rebates and schedule that worked with our budget.

Never had any interaction with the technical people. Only secretary took the phone and message. They never return the call.

All too often in the home improvement market, the homeowner is plagued with non-responsive contractors or people who come to look at a job and then never follow up. For anyone who has suffered through that experience, Rycor is like a breath of fresh air! We found Rycor on Angie's List after being blown off by 3 other HVAC providers! Scott immediately responded to my call and made an appointment to come to the house. He was very thorough upon inspection of the project and gave us several options of how we could proceed. In the end, we decided to replace our entire HVAC system (which wasn't our original plan). But after a full consultation from Scott, we realized this was our best long term solution. After visiting us, Scott had a proposal in my inbox by the end of the day. He called us several times to answer additional questions and follow up. We scheduled the work within a couple of days. Scott's entire team showed up at the scheduled time and completed the work quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up after themselves and even removed shoes before working inside the house. Definitely call Rycor. You won't be disappointed.

I have a Burnham furnace with an Argo controller and a Weil-McLain indirect-fired water heater with four zone valves. The switch on my zone valve for the hot water was stuck on closed and not recognizing that the water tank needed more hot water. I changed the zone valve myself assuming that was the problem, but it didn't resolve. I couldn't figure out what else to do and started calling HVAC companies. I called several and couldn't get a return call. It took a day to get a hold of Scott but when he returned my call he got on it right away and was at my house (which is about 45 minutes from his shop) within a couple of hours. It only took him a few minutes to troubleshoot the problem and recognize that it was a loose wire on my controller, but he charged me a fair rate for his time to get out to my house and evaluate the problem. Scott apologized for having to charge me for something that only took a few minutes and said if I'd been near him he would have done it for free, but I'm in a rural area and he had to travel quite a ways, so it was fair. Also, spending $200 in the middle of a brutal winter to have an expert identify the problem and make sure we have hot water was worth the expenditure. I certainly wasn't going to figure it out on my own so I may as well spend my money with a company that knows how to treat customers and charges a fair price. Also, I will say that Scott was extremely professional, well spoken, and explained his service and my problem in simple terms that I could understand. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to friends!

He gave me the price of a new unit, looked in the atic and went outside to check out the unit. He asked if it had died and I explained it was just the wires. He told me I didn't need a new unit and that he could come back in the spring for a tune-up to get me back up and running without a new unit. I was really impressed by his honesty!

The first visit was pleasant and promising, which became just a familiarity visit. As a result, a second visit was agreed on that would be actually for doing the job - evaluation of current condition of HVAC system and repairing it, if needed. However, then while at the site the approach was changed and I was called and promised a detailed proposal for the job. It appeared that the tasks were too involved to complete them in one visit. I agreed. That was last time I heard from Scott in regard to the proposal. This was about 1.5 months ago. I followed up myself. At that call I was told that there was a tragedy in the family, which I understandably accepted and agreed to wait until he returns to his normal work schedule. However, nothing happened since then - about a month ago or more. As a potential customer I didn't feel that my needs and expected timing of doing the repair were respected. If Scott by some reason felt that the job wasn't suitable to his business preferences, he should tell it upfront and didn't mislead me.

Overall an excellent experience. Scott was very responsive, professional, and addressed all my questions honestly and without trying to up-sell. The installation was quick and professional and the units are working perfectly. They weren't the cheapest but I was willing to pay a premium based on the quality of their service and the reviews from customers. I would recommend Scott and his team and will definitely call them in the future should I need more work.

The Rycor crew were here on a very hot day, and kept at it until the job was done. I never observed any of them taking a break! They were courteous and professional, even wearing booties in the house to keep from tracking any dirt inside. I couldn't have asked for things to go any smoother. Mike, especially, was very patient with all the barking from my two dachshunds. I think he's made a friend for life of one of them, pausing to throw her toy for her from time to time. We are very happy with the workmanship, and are really enjoying our new air conditioned comfort!

I honestly never write reviews, I'm too busy... But, he did a great job, and was a pleasure to deal with, as were his associates. Refreshingly professional, extremely knowledgable and highly recommended. You really want someone who knows these systems, don't try to save a couple of hundred dollars on a low bidder who installs split systems occasionally. That said, he was somewhat of a low bidder, as he didn't try to oversize systems, he instead recommended we err on the side of less and add more system if necessary. In other words, you can't lose; he'll do an excellent job at a great price.

He was professional, punctual, and thought creatively about how to best install air conditioning in our house. He answered all our questions politely and patiently. Everything about the job was perfect.

They showed up on time. Very polite. Went through each system, tested for coolness/functionality and refilled coolant where necessary, cleaned all the filters on the mini splits. Very pleased with service, price and cleanliness. Previously used two different companies and paid the same amount for EACH system as we paid for the entire service call.

Scott and his team are awesome. He provided a ton of unbiased information in helping me make a decision about units, was always on time, polite, knowledgeable and fair. His team worked fast, left the place spotless and were easy to deal with. A first class contractor

After a few years of furnace problems I called Rycor and no issues

Went well. It was a weekend job so they had to drive a distance to procure the part from the one store open in the area that was open so charged a premium but they were a able to successfully diagnose the problem and make the repair in order to restore heat. They also provided an Angie's list discount for the work done.

No hassle easy job. Service tech showed up on time. Was friendly,knowledgeable and charged a fair price. Wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

I now have HEAT!!!!! Scott Arnold and his crew (Mike, John and Carlos) installed my new furnace and removed the old one with such professionalism and proficiency, I was amazed! They are incredibly personable and kind. Each of them introduced themselves and got straight to work. They installed the unit which is fabulous and cleaned up and removed everything. I NEVER expected such wonderful service. Their help will never be forgotten. Not only do I have heat, but I have a grateful heart. Thank you Rycor. You would be doing yourself a HUGE favor to use them. This business is not only about excellent service; they are about doing the next right thing.

He never showed up so there's no question of things going well. It is almost an emergency here and because of his complete lack of professionalism, we are left with no heat for tonight.

We first contacted Scott in early July and were amazed that he was able to order and install the unit within a couple of days, just in time for the next big heat wave. Scott and his team were expert, efficient, pleasant, and professional. Scott took care to explain everything carefully and clearly to us, which we needed since we were completely unfamiliar with this system and had never had A/C before. We have used it intermittently since then, still preferring silence and open windows. The unit has mostly lived up to its billing though it does not effectively cool the bedroom as well as the living room as promised. We were very satisfied with Scott's work and would unhesitatingly recommend RYCOR.
