Animal Grooming
Chris is an amazing dog groomer. We have been using her since she started her business in 2011 and she is simply the best. Not only is she a great groomer but she makes homemade all natural dog treats for her and quot;clientsand quot;, handmade bows for them and special doggy Holiday presents. She listens to the owners and does exactly what is asked of her. if she does not agree with the details she will explain her thought process about how and why she would do it differently but the final decision is always up to me. Bella ( my dog) is a little skittish when it comes to new people touching her but Chris has always managed to put Bella at ease and now Bella welcomes Chris with the joy and excited tail wags.
I recently moved to Connecticut and am so upset that Chris doesn't service this area ( we are simply too far away for it to make any sense). I am seriously considering do a and quot;doggy dateand quot; at a friends house in Chris's service area so that I can schedule Chris to groom Bella.

Let me start by saying that i have used this groomer several times for my 2 dogs and was happy with her skills. I found her to be a little abrasive and she does not always take specific direction as to how you may want to have your dog styled. I prefer to use mobile groomers, so I stuck with her even though we had several scheduling problems with her. You need to book 4-6 weeks in advance and was told clients pre book for a year. i asked to be put on a wait list in November, since she was booked for 6 weeks. After waiting 4 weeks i did not hear from her, and when i contacted her i had to refresh her memory. i guess i really wasn't on her wait list and was told she had no availability until February. I was not happy with this and she explained that she really doesn't get too many last minute openings. Why she offers a wait list makes no sense and is poor customer service. I made the appt for February but could not get a convenient time for me to be home, so my husband arranged to take a 1/2 day from work to be home. i confirmed appt that morning. She texts me 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time to say she was running late and was heading to my house. That was fine, things happen. Another text and now it is 30 minutes after appt. time. Another text and it is now going to be an hour late. We did not say a word to her and understood even though this was an inconvenience for my husband. Our next appointment was canceled the day of the appointment due to her illness. AGAIN we understood and had to reschedule to a day that was convenient for her. Our last and final appointment was made with this groomer. I had gotten a text that morning confirming appt. time and I had not remembered to to arrange to take time off from work that day and could not do so at the last minute. I tried to work something out for someone to be home that afternoon, but could not. i texted her back an apology and asked to reschedule. i can only say what took place after that was the most unprofessional treatment I have ever encountered. Her response was a one word response that did to make sense...and quot;DONEand quot;. I asked her to clarify her response and she sent the same text. I asked her to clarify again and she advised she had no available appointments. Again i needed to clarify and she said she had no appointments for and quot;MY DOGSand quot;. i then proceeded to call her because her unprofessional behavior with texting was appalling. She would not pick up and I was forced to leave a message with what I thought of her nerve to ban my dogs after being patient and understanding with her lateness and last minute cancelation. AGAIN, she did not have the courtesy to call back, but sent one more obnoxious text. I did not reply. I have waited a while to write a review because there was no forum to write one, other than her website and I am sure it would have been deleted. This is also the only negative review I have ever posted for a business. If you are thinking of using this person's service, just be aware of her unprofessionalism and her lack of understanding and courtesy. She may think she is a top groomer for the area, but there are others who can give you the full package.

Chris has been our dog's groomer for about the past year, and she does a great job -- knows how a Wheaten terrier should look, and how to handle a dog that does not love to be combed or bathed. The homemade dog treat reward after grooming is very well received!

I have a Great Pyr. He is a bossy boy that recently had knee surgery. Chris, the owner/operator of the grooming van established a re pore with him, and then spent five hours grooming him (he is a long-haired double coated, 140 pound man). She took her time, and thoughtfully ensured that he was well supported so that he would not strain his recently operated on knee. This was my first experience with Chris, but I cannot recommend her strongly enough. From the moment I contacted her, she was professional, communicative, and prompt. I rarely feel that $100 for anything is a bargain, but The Good Life Mobile Pet Grooming is just that, a bargain. Chris takes her job seriously, she cares about your pet, and she ensures that your pet is safe, in my case, bearing the weight of my moose on her shoulder, not a single cut on him, and a lovely haircut.
