2 guys came.  they did the above minimal services.  they said they were at my house for 4 hours which they spent time in their truck before and after?charging me for that time?which they also rounded up to the next hour.  i had been told the cost would be $100 an hour.  but worker told me it was $100 for each of them.  what they did for $900, my husband and i as amateurs could have done ourselves in maybe an hour.  the receptionist and owner were not very nice. Doorbell stopped working soon after and i called a different company to fix it.

I found the proprietor of Great Neck Electric to be thoroughly unprofessional and extremely difficult to do business with.  Although she refused to allow me to pay her staffer by check when he was here at my house, and also refused to take my credit card over the phone, both of which I offered to do, she accused me of trying to skip out on her bill.  She made this accusation about me to third parties.  I found her to be completely unreasonable. I would definitely not do business with her again and I would not recommend her.

They are extremely honest and have been taken advantage of my other electricians.  If they don't have the part they will go get it.  I even sent them a bigger check and they sent it back to me.  They are very punctual and honest people.

This company, which is located down the road from me and came highly recommended. However when I called them for an estimate on a job, I was given the run around. I was told someone would come to my house but no one ever came. Frustrated I went to there offices in person and informed them of my treatment and was finally given a name and a date. When the electrician came to my home on the scheduled date he was very nice but was kind of rushed. The job entailed reconnecting a walkway light that had been accidentally severed by our landscaper. The electrician located several wires that were connected to the pole but couldn't locate the disconnect. A half an hour into the the visit the electrician received a call from a colleague who needed his help for another job. After about another 10 minutes another Great Neck Electric work van showed up and it was quite evident that this was the fellow electrician who had just called. The long and short of it the original electrician apologized that he couldn't locate the problem but that he would have to leave for another job and that he would have to bill me for the time he spent at my house. He suggested that I call the office back and speak to his manager, who will have full knowledge of the situation based on his field report. When I called several days later and spoke to the manager, he was less than enthusiastic  to hear from me because finding the disconnect was comparable to finding needle in a haystack. Thinking outside the box, I came up w/ a suggestion of attaching a photocell to my existing lamp post , I was told that it was possible and that the manager himself would stop by and price out the job for me. After several weeks had gone by and I didn't hear from I wrote Great Neck Electric off for good.

The company sent someone down to diagnose an attic exhaust fan which was not working. After five minutes, he told me I needed a new thermostat, and that it would be ordered. After ten days, and no word from them, I called, and was told they had the part and would send someone the next day. I was to pay $45 for the thermostat and $99 for the first man hour of labor. The woman I spoke to added that I probably only needed one man! I then found a message on my phone mail that I had not paid for the initial visit, and stating that I had to pay the $99.00 twice. I told them to forget it, that if I got a bill for the first visit, I would obviously have to pay it, but I was not going to compound that travesty by paying twice, and paying $250.00 for a thermostat. I then called in someone else who got the fan to start with a slight tap. There was nothing wrong with the thermostat - the guy checked it several times. In addition to being greedy, this company is dishonest.

We called for an estimate and the company representative came on the scheduled day/time. The results of the estimate were given to us the next day, so we scheduled a day for their services. The electrician was very professional, worked diligently and cleaned up any mess made. The company called before each appointment to ensure we were ready for them to come to the house.

Everything was done as promised. Only downside was something discovered a couple of days later by my air conditioning repair company which I think the electrician missed and which required a return trip.
