Very responsive - called in morning the Tech arrived in afternoon, had part on truck. Cautious and attentive about moving refrigerator on my wood floor.

Will continue to gamble without service contracts on appliances (too costly) and use JS for repairs - my only gripe is the manufacturer warranties the part for just 90 days (GE). Hopefully I can get more life out of this motherboard.

This story is a little long, so bear with me. Bottom line - JS Appliance came to the house 6 times attempting to fix the two freezer problems. The ice maker problem was fixed after visit 5 at a higher price than was specified. The second problem was never fixed. We gave up hope that JS could fix the freezer without significant additional costs and time and bought a new refrigerator.
A little more detail. We called JS in for an estimate to fix the 2 freezer problems. JS stated the problem with the ice maker was that the input line filling the ice maker was misaligned. The stated cause for the frost in the freezer was that the door wasn’t sealing properly due to bad door tracks, which would need to be replaced. Estimated price for the repair - $550.
After the JS repairman (Jeff) left, my wife and I discussed our options. We could either fix our current 7 year old refrigerator for $550 or buy a new, equivalent one for about $1300. Although a close call, we had been happy with our refrigerator and decided to get it fixed. But first, I asked Jeff for an assurance that the problems would indeed be addressed for the stated repair price. I didn’t want him to come back later and say that it would cost additional money to fix these problems. He said that he was not offering any kind of warranty on the refrigerator (which I wasn’t looking for), but that the two existing problems would be fixed for that price. So, we went ahead with the repair.
The freezer door tracks were replaced and the ice maker alignment issue addressed. After a day, it was clear that neither problem was fixed. We still did not have a working ice maker and we still had frost in the freezer even after a full defrosting. Jeff and his helper came back, realigned the door tracks and unfroze the ice maker line. A few ice cubes got made, but then the same two issues. We called them back again, but after they left, we continued to have the same two problems.
The 5th time in, Jeff said that the cause of the ice maker problem must be a leaking valve and that the valve would have to be replaced. And he said that he would install it for free, but that we would have to pay for the valve (about $60). At that point, I reminded him that I had asked him if the problems would be addressed for the estimated price and that he had agreed that they would. He said that he could not have been expected to foresee additional problems that were not obvious to him at the time of the diagnosis. As an engineer myself, I have some sympathy for the difficulties in diagnosing problems. But that is exactly the reason I asked him for the guarantee. If we thought there might be additional costs, we might have decided to go with a new refrigerator and not repair the old one. I could not get Jeff to live up to his verbal guarantee on this issue. His offer remained that he could only continue on if we continued to pay for parts.
So, we reluctantly agreed to pay for the new water valve. And it did, in fact, fix the problem with the ice maker. But the second problem remained - the freezer continued to frost and the refrigerator never cycled off. Jeff came back for that one and said that we needed to replace the gasket on the freezer door. I asked him if there was any way to confirm that air was leaking in through the gasket. He said no. Cost for the gasket - $115.
With no guarantee that this new repair would fix the problem and little confidence left in Jeff’s diagnostic abilities, we gave up on repairing our refrigerator and went out and bought a new one. It works wonderfully and we are trying to forget about our missing $600 and all of the aggravation. And if the new refrigerator ever fails, we won’t be calling JS Appliance for a repair.

The tech arrived on time and knew just what to do. I found the price high but I think that my annoyance is with GE for making such a klunky piece of equipment. The good new is that GE is selling their appliance business and will focus on aircraft engines and the like. Nothing as complex as ice makers.

I call JS Appliance this morning at 8 AM this morning, explained my problem. The gentleman asked if they could come out today and I said fine. He told me he would call me back within the hour with a approx time. He called me back at 9 AM and told me someone would be out between 10 and 12. There would be a $50.00 service charge which I would not be charged if I did the repair.
The tech arrived at around 11 he was polite, professional and got right to the situation. He told me what the problem was and what he would do to fix it, he also advised adding a heater extension to the defrost drain, so this would not happen again. He quoted me a price which I thought was fair and reasonable and I told him to go ahead with the repair
He was finished in about 45 minutes...I was very pleased and happy with the out come and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and would definitely call him again.

I am super impressed by the service I got from JS Appliance and I will definitely be using them again for all my large appliance repairs in the future. My dryer broke this weekend so as soon as I woke up this morning I turned to Angie's list to find a dryer repairman. I'm so glad I chose JS! As soon as I called I spoke to a friendly person who scheduled me in for today,even though I have to go out this afternoon. He managed to work things so that he could come before I had to go out. He came, fixed my dryer quickly and with good cheer and now I have a working dryer before lunch on the same day I first called in for a repair! There is absolutely no way that service can be bettered. Lovely people, quality work and so prompt!

JS Appliance arrived to our home a few minutes before our appointment, which we liked, assessed the problem very quickly, talked to us about what we needed and then took out the "book of bad news". Which sounds like a bad thing-but it's not-it tells you the amount you will have be spending (which helps you to make the decision on whether you proceed). If you have them do the repair they waive the visit fee. He had the part we needed on the truck, did the repair and that was that. Very efficient, professional and nice person to deal with. Most importantly it was done right!

I was called back in a timely fashion and appointment was for the next day even though I was out of their local area. Mike called when he was on his way and arrived promptly. Washing machine had stopped agitating and spinning. It needed a part. Repair was done quickly and efficiently. In comparison to replacing the machine, the cost was reasonable.

Our gas oven seemed to take too long to get up to selected temp. and much to long to bake everything. JC appliance technichian came to the house, open the oven and removed the oven door and floor. He diagnosed the problem right away. He went out to his van and had the part . He installed it in less than ten minutes and than check that it operated correctly. The hole procedure took less than one hour. The oven works as it did when it was new, (the oven is over ten years old).

I couldn't be happier. From start to finish this was a flawless transaction. I called at 8 AM- was connected with a time that day for a service call and was given a time frame of 2-4 PM for an arrival time. At around 3 PM the provider ACTUALLY called to say the technician was on his way and should arrive within 45 mins... AND HE DID! The technician was very knowledgable and fixed the problem quickly. The cost was reasonable as far as repair costs go. I will definitely recommend JS Appliance. They are a top notch organization.

I have leak from freezer.
Technician told me,that my problem is typical. in 15 minute he defrosted hole on the bottom freezer and leak stop.
