Job was to take 5 day, took almost at month. There were to be 3 men working only saw one. Work was done, but after 2 months porch started to leak to the first floor and the railing started to rust again. Where the tiles were replaced, the metal around the porch was exposed and was rusting. He said held come look said he did what he was hired to do. I didn't hire him to cause more rust and leakage. He was to come back and never did. Had to rehire another company to tear the work he did down and re-do the job. Job cost me an additional $2,500.

Yes, it can be a bit of a wait for work to start. But there's a good reason - positive word of mouth. In our case, Edmond D'Avanzo was upfront that it would take a month or two to get our driveway and curb repaving done. But once the work was started, everything went without a hitch. The work was professional, and the driveway and curb are perfect. All workers were courteous and hard working and the site was completely cleaned of any debris after the work was done. Outdoor work in NYC has a limited season - so take that into account when scheduling your project with them and you will not be disappointed.

Work was done, called emailed him 2 months later to let him know that the leaks was still there and that I have rust on the top landing where it wasn't before. The job was to take 3-4 days, it took about 3 weeks.I emailed him several times and finally he came out and said the job was done the way I wanted him to do it. It cost me and additional $2,500 to get the job done correctly and remove all the tiles, waterproof and cover the beams that he left exposed and they started to rust. The contractor that fixed his mistakes couldn't understand whey he'd leave steel beams uncovered. D'Avanzo always had an excuse as to why he couldn't get the see the poor job or why the work took so long to do. He was to come and repaint the railings, but they never showed up. When they did paint them the first time, they just painted over the old rust. The last time I complained to him about still having the leaks, he said, well you had that problem before, Why he hell did he think I hired him for, not to make the matter worse. I have a pictures before he started the work (with the dog and beams are covered), what work he did with rust and beams showing and gaps, and the work that was done correctly. Shame as he kept telling me how he's in the neighborhood and I can contact him at any time.

The team was great! We are looking forward to working with them again soon. They have a great sense of detail.

We booked the job the last week of June 2015 with a l20% deposit and was told by Edmundo, part of firm owning family, it would be a 3 wk minimum til work would start. Edmundo was very personable and made my husband and myself confident that we had selected the right contractor for our emergency project. While we were informed that Davanzo worked on houses in the order they were booked, we never dreamed it woule take 3 months rather than the 3 weeks we were told. Edmundo did answer our emails, however, sometimes 2 to 3 days after they were sent. For 3 months Edmundo was unablevto give us a start date. As this was our first project over $3000.00 we had attempted, we stressed out about whether we had chosen wisely in going with Davanzo and had nightmare about having to go to small claims court to recoup our deposit. Three quarters of the way through September when we were at our wits end when we received a call from Edmundo on Friday nforming us that work would begin on MONSAY.
Thankfully the crew of 3 (minus Edmundo) showed up on the Monday. The crew arrived between 7 & 8a.m. everyday for the next 9 days, leaving @ 3-4p.m. The men were excellent, non obstrusive workers. They went above and beyond on every detail of the job. It was our pleasure) to treat them to pizza a couple times as well as tip them a small amount ($40. each) to show our appreciaton.
All well that ended well and barring the lengthy wait, we are 100% satisfied with services rendered by Davanzo & company. I would reccomend them providing you have the patience to wait as they are, with good reason, in hifh demand. The only thing I would suggest to Davanzo is that more contsct with clients, even if its just to allay fears, would go a long way.

I hired D'Avanzo and Sons to renovate two apartments in a building I own in Brooklyn. The owner overseeing the job, Edmond D'Avazno, is a friendly trustworthy guy who was always fair and responsive. During both renovations, we made small adjustments to the plans, and Edmond was very accommodating, offering good suggestions and working with us to stay within budget. The prices were very competitive-- less than some bids, and while more than other bids, his team's professionalism made it worth the extra money. All of the guys on his crew are very nice, hard-working and competent and it was always a pleasure to interact with them. In the end, they did a great job-- the apartments looks great, we stayed largely within budget, and working with contractors that you like and trust made the experience far less stressful than it could have been. I would highly recommend hiring D'Avanzo and Sons.

I continue to use D'Avanzo & Sons Construction Corp. for my projects.  They make the stressful home renovation projects that much easier for me.  I know while they are working on my house I have no worries.  A+++ work.  
The owner Edmond provided me with great tile samples to choose from.  He also gave me great ideas on how to make the bathroom look bigger.  I am now utilizing more space which is always helpful.  I absolutely love the work they've done.  I wish I had more money because I would never let this company leave my house.  Lol   It's really great seeing an old home get remodeled little-by-little.

When I saw the lovely job they did to my bathroom I had them do my backyard.  I've seen their masonry work from neighbors and it intrigued me to do my yard.  They installed cambridge pavers, a beautiful garden area, and new stoop with granite steps.  All set for BBQ'in and having guests over.  I never wanted to invite people over because I was embarrassed of my home.  Not anymore!  :-)  
I am currently on their schedule to do some more projects on my home.  I am looking forward to it.  Home renovation projects can be so stressful at times, not when it comes to working with D'Avanzo & Sons Construction Corp.

We are in the final stages of the job and are looking forward to moving into our beautiful house.

My husband and I hired D'Avanzo & Sons Construction Corp. (Owner/General Contractor: Edmond D'Avanzo) to do an almost complete gut renovation of our newly purchased house. It was more of a destruction than a construction. We unfortunately found out they are highly under qualified for the job and lie about having licensed workers installing major plumbing and electrical for the house.The renovation included gut renovating and installing a brand new bathroom, install new plumbing, light fixtures, toilet, bathtub, etc. The tiles and grout had to be redone four times and even after that was left a complete mess with tiles uneven, grout missing, silicone caulking unable to stick to the wall because so much has to be used because of the huge gaps. I found out after my bathroom was installed that he did NOT have a licensed plumber working on my bathroom, which resulted in suds from doing the laundry coming out of my toilet and bathtub. In addition, they chipped our new bathtub and scratched our new toilet and hung fixtures uneven. They walked out the job without fixing any of this. I now have to hire someone to redo my bathroom.I paid almost in full to have my kitchen installed and D'Avanzo & Sons Construction Corp. abandoned the job without installing kitchen cabinets, backsplash, appliances, etc. I now paid another contractor to finish the job....costing me an additional thousands of dollars.I found out that D'Avanzo & Sons Construction Corp. did not have a licensed electrician to install all my electrical units, including high hats, outlets, etc. Lights flicker throughout the house when I just turn the toaster oven on. In addition, they installed an outside waterproof outlet incorrectly. It was a vertical outlet with a horizontal cover, allowing water to go directly into the outlet. They installed an outlet without a metal gang box. Instead he framed the electrical outlet in a wooden frame that his team constructed. One spark and it can catch fire.They were to install new vinyl siding outside where they patched up two doors. Instead there were holes in the siding allowing water to directly hit the side of the house eventually resulting in water damage. I wa told to hire my painter to pain the house because the work would be completed. I hired the painter and D'Avanzo & Sons Construction Corp. then spackled over parts of my brand new painted walls and ceiling.  Leaving us to have to redo the walls.I spent a lot of money for professional work and had was left with a disaster.
