I called Soundview because the pilot light of the furnace in an apartment I own would not stay lit. Soundview was very friendly and accommodating, and they were able to get a service person to the apartment the same day. They informed me that the unit had to be replaced, and told me that they expected the total cost to be between $4500 and $5000. When they called me later, they informed me that due to the structural changes that would be needed, and the fact that it is not possible to get a unit that doesn't also have AC capability, the cost would be between $4800 and $5000. I was charged $96.68 for the estimate.
Considering that the other company I called was able to get a unit without AC capability, and their price was less than half the price that Soundview gave me, I did not have Soundview install a new unit. Even after paying for an estimate - which the other company did not charge me for - I came out way ahead by NOT using Soundview.

"We were just released information regarding our reviews. The $96.68 was a Diagnostic Fee. Before all technicans are dispatched out to the home, the customer knows before hand what the diagnostic fee is. All ESTIMATES ARE FREE!!!! This call was a service call, not an estimate."

On 12/28/12 I woke up to no heat . I called Slomins since I have a service contract with them . They told me it would be a week before someone would be able to come out .the woman also stated the fact that I had a small child in the house did not make it a emergency . I then called soundview heating and was told someone would be out between 1 and 4 pm. At 4pm the guy showed up and told me the problem was the pump and it needed to be replaced. By 430 I had heat again. Everyone was professional and courteous and I would use the again

I had four estimates which resulted in a wide range of prices. It was not a straight forward choice due to the wide range of seer ratings (efficiency ratings) and system types available. The best combination of price and features were offered by Soundview Heating and Air Conditioning. They arrived on time, were professional and cleaned up after the installation. The new system works well. Good job.

After arranging the initial service call, the tech showed up RIGHT ON TIME...and was totally professional. He explained exactly what needed to be done. A part had to be ordered and a follow-up visit was arranged. Again, the techs showed up on time and they were very professional. They completed the repair...CLEANED UP after themselves. I was very impressed.

The job went very smoothly and very well. We were very pleased. My only complaint was that I cleaned the attic out because they ran all the stuff up there. We had taken estimates from 4 different companies. We would recommend them. It is a family run company. They were very personable and extremely professional. We were glad that we selected them. They cleaned everything so nicely when they finished. They were drilling ceiling, and I was left with nothing on the floors, so they were very nice.

A++++ experience. The team worked professionally and were friendly and courteous. They were in our home for at least 8 hours, yet it didn't feel as if they were in our way at all. The house was kept clean, and they made sure to leave our home as if they were never even there. The electrician's work too a little longer than expected...so Soundview came back to our house in the evening hours when the electrician finished just to turn the CAC on. We really loved our experience with Soundview from the day we received our free estimate to the completed installation. They were responsive and friendly through email and phone calls to the office. We couldn't be happier.

I called and was advised $135 to show up. If any services performed the $135 will go toward the service. from that point until he left after performing the work was less than 2 hours and this was on a saturday.

I paid around $244 which included taxes and so it was $225 without taxes. They were fine and came on time. They were cordial and did a professional job. I was totally satisfied with their work. The price that they charged was fair. I would use their services in the future too.

Tech methodically went over system, made the corrections described in a friendly manner. Did not, in my opinion, analyze what I suspect is diminished airflow which results in slower cooling than previously experienced. Suggested that poorer performance is due to the age of the system.

This is an on-going service. Other than changing a thermostat and some filters, they haven't neeeded to do any major work. We are entirely satisfied with our association with Soundview.

The estimate included several options for units of varying quality and efficiency. This was well laid out, and helped greatly in making the decision of which to choose. The installers worked efficiently and clearly worked together frequently. They took care to keep the work areas and walking paths clean on completion. They clearly went through our options for locations of vents, and let us choose the specific locations based upon their information. They also did extra work to allow the outdoor unit to be placed in a more desirable location. Upon completion, they programmed the thermostat, and walked us through the method of programming it. I was very pleased with the installers, they freely answered questions and were very respectful of us and the property. Note the price did not include the cost of the electrician for high voltage wiring from the breaker box to the units. This was an additional $600 paid directly to the electrician. You can choose your own electrician, although I decided to go with the one they recommended, who did a quality job.

They came over right away. They ripped me off to the max. They charged me twice the amount. Afterwards, other service providers told me that they charged double the amount. I had to find people to loan me the money. They insisted on payment up front. They didn't even give me a chance. The bottom line is I would never use them again. He explained to me that the part was outdated and this was reason for the high charges. He stated he they do make the control board any longer, but he had one readily available out in his truck. It seemed strange and I think he was lying to me.

It could not have gone better. It was easier dealing with them as a small local company than the large gas company I was dealing with before. They were very responsive every step of the way, very flexible appointments, followed up right away, and called to confirm times of when they would be there. The employees seemed to be very experienced. I would absolutely recommend them to others.

Had duct cleaning done badly and grotesquely dishonestly BY ANOTHER COMPANY. Called Soundview in. Their head man explained that the previous clowns had misidentified simple dirt on my AC coils as mold, and had urged me to have an expensive retreatment. **Again, this is the previous evil jerks.** Soundview head guy John calmed down my fears of mold and actually urged, casually, against sanitizing treatment that would have cost me another couple of hundred bucks. I am always impressed when someone who stands to make money from me advises against an unnecessary expense. He also explained a very simple, near-zero-cost measure for minimizing humidity in our basement. I was still so rattled from our basement stinking to high heaven of mold and mildew that I had Soundview do the sanitizing on my AC anyway. One has not much to do with the other, but I was paranoid, Soundview impressed me, and I had the money. Can't be too careful in a house with two family members who have asthma, I figured. I would use these guys again. Imparted a real feeling of assurance that was NOT a snow job like the previous evil jerks.
