It was a weekend call so it was considered emergency-no problem with that. When they installed the new faucet in my shower, the pressure, which was what I loved about my shower was cut in half, when brought to the techs attention, he said sorry, I should have installed a different faucet, oh well nothing I can do about it now, sorry. I now hate taking showers in that bathroom. Sorry he said, nothing I can do about it now. I thought it was important that I mention that again.
They' still missing the point in their response that none of this was brought to my attention BEFORE the installation.
As of 2/9/16 still not resolved.
When I wrote this review Mako responded with a lot of nice words however, I called after the new year, left a message to fix this issue as they stated in their response to my review that they were going to do and have never received a response.
It's become oblivious that they have no plans of trying to fix this problem.
"Glad we could resolve your situation over the weekend but we are very concerned with your disappointment with our product two years after our installation. We also feel that you may not be properly informed of what the current plumbing codes are. We want satisfied customers and have installed hundreds of Wolverine Brass shower bodies (the product that we stock that comes with a 100 year warranty). All of our “A” rated reviews pertaining to shower bodies have used this product and are very satisfied with the outcome. Therefore let me (your technician/plumber) try to be clearer in explaining why we are forced to install products that fall within water conservation codes. The three handle shower body and valve that was leaking out of control in your house is no longer allowed to be replaced directly. We as licensed plumbers are only allowed to retro-fit in single handle, pressure balanced, anti-scald shower bodies and valves. The plumbing code allows for only 2.5 gallons per minute heads and valves to be used as replacements for the old water wasting 3 handle valves and bodies and heads. We will always respond to a customer’s concerns; however we will never perform out of code procedures to make a buck or two. 30-50-75 year old 3 & 4 handle shower bodies can and have scalded and injured a huge number of people in the past and the plumbing code was re-written and re-mandated expressly to stop the dangerous and wasteful nature of your old body types that I had to change. As we recommended after changing your shower body, you can change your shower head to a low consumption head that will provide a stronger stream while still maintaining our principals of code compliance. In regards to our last conversation, you had mentioned that you did not want to deal with this until next year. Please let us know when we can get back to you, we would like to see if we can do something within our parameters to get you to enjoy your showering experiences going forward."

1) For job one, the install of the new thermostatic valve, re-plumb and various fixes: overall this has increased our water pressure throughout the home, as well as having what feels like an infinite supply of hot water. Absolutely amazing. Rick was my plumber for this job and he thoroughly explained the job and even invited me to view the project as it was on going.
2) For job two, the retro fit of two kick-space heaters: amazingly done job and outcome. I would not believe the new heaters hadn't been there the whole time (i.e., they left no signs the heaters were done after construction). Our large split which was inadequately heated, now warms with the rest of the house - which for a large opened space is amazing. The heaters themselves are small and quiet, and we have the ability to control how much heat they output which is a neat pseudo-zoning feature if ever we felt the need to reconfigure them. Ricky was also the lead master plumber on this job and, again, did an amazing job and explained fascinating hydrodynamic concepts and how he would use them to get heat to where we needed it most.
Dawn, the fabulous woman behind the phone when you call, has and remains professional and delightful through every call.
Mako is an A+ team and I would invite them all over for dinner, they're just awesome professional and people all round. If you need a group of plumbers to rely on to get your job done, and get it done right look no further.

Unfortunately we have only letter grades less than A's in the price and cost arena. We know that quality doesn't cost...It pays for itself. We really appreciate you [pointing that out to the general public. Let me say this, would you feel comfortable paying 1/2 price for a nice car-like BMW/Audi? There must be something wrong with it (car/plumbing/electrical). the only thing we feel that needs addressed is Danny @ Light Works Electric...who were also very professional and timely when it came to providing electricity to the kick space heaters. We have had nothing but good experiences with using them as our sub-contractor. Truly happy that the kickers are working well for you. We have heated many houses especially in the Long Beach area where space is very limited with kickers. In some cases we can heat the whole house with those little units. As stated before, thank you sincerely for the great review. Looking forward to meeting you again maybe socially as well as professionally."
I have used Mako plumbing a number of times and each time I have been happy with the rendered services. I , have in the past both used a national franchise and a plumber also local to Lynbrook. Mako has proven to be, in my opinion, vastly superior to both. I would not hesitate, if needed, to use them again.
