Maher Van Lines

The movers were very professional and extremely nice. They packed a 4-room apartment and loaded it on the truck in one day. Everything arrived safely and in good condition. They also transported my car at the same time. The unpack went smoothly as well. Shelves were set up and TV was reassembled. I would definitely recommend Maher Van Lines and would use them again. When looking for a mover I encountered some less than nice people. Tommy Maher is great and all his help is as nice as he is. Really appreciated everything they did for me.

Tommy and his men could not have been more helpful and professional. They arrived right on time and everything was handled beautifully. I alerted them in advance that some of the furniture had glass tops, and they brought boxes and packed those separately. Some items had to be moved to storage in a separate location, and that was handled efficiently. We had a floor plan for the new apartment with locations of furniture noted, and all was done exactly as we desired. We couldn't
have been more pleased, and we would definitely recommend them.

Christmas tree was missing. When we moved in they put everything in the garage. Several items missing (laptop, video camera).

They were absolutely wonderful. They did a great job of getting my things from one place to the other and they even gave me their cell phone number so I could be informed where my things were at all times during the transfer.

We packed and boxed most items. Maher disassembled tables and wrapped furniture in blankets. They supplied, at no cost, garment boxes.

I hired Maher Van Lines to move my house items which were moved to storage a few months earlier, to my new home. Again, I was very pleased with the professionalism, price and service that I received from this company. I will also share a near disaster that Tommy Maher made right. The morning of the move, I met Tommy and his team at my storage unit. The weather that morning was freezing and when we went to open the lock to my container the key snapped off in the lock. Tom produced bolt cutters to get my lock off and didn't even begin to charge me until the lock was removed. Throughout the day, his team were very careful of my belongings and of my new construction home. I can say that in two moves with Maher Van Lines, there was no damage to any item. Thanks again.

When I called Tommy Maher for a quote, he was very personable and was able to give me packing and savings recommendations for my move. His original quote was higher than the actual move day, because I used his information to make things more efficient for his movers. After getting several quotes from other companies on Long Island, I realized that Maher is the most fair. They charge only for time. Tom even said that packing materials such as plastic and padding were part of his costs for doing business (I don't mean boxes, those you need to provide). Every other company charged for those materials. On moving day the guys did a great job and were courteous. You have to include Maher Van Lines in your quotes. The only downside is that Maher is a smaller company and their schedule gets booked up quickly, but all his employees are known and reliable. They are not people picked up off the street. In doing business with Maher Van Lines, I felt that I was supporting a local business. Well done! Thanks again Tommy! I will be using this company again for my move from storage to my new home.

He was really good. When the time came, the quote was lower than expected. The guys were very good and did a great job. They were very easy to work with. There were no scratches and nothing was broken. I had absolutely no reservations about using their service from the time I called to when my things were delivered.

I moved from Wantagh New York to saint Johns Florida.The Guys that moved me and drove the truck were the best movers that you can find.The only con was that it took a long time to find out when the truck was to be in Florida, other then that you can not wrong with this company.

They were excellent. The drive and his assistant were very courteous.

Maher Moving Company moved us into our new house. They put our furniture in storage because of delays with the people selling the house to us. Tommy and his crews did a wonderful job. They were kind, concientious and easy to work with. They pickup up our furniture when they said they would and took great care to make sure there would be no damage. There wasn't any. They kept our furniture in their warehouse for just over a month. It all arrived at the new house in the condition it went out of my old house. Maher moving's price was approximately 1/3 less than the 3 other movers I checked out. We were extremely pleased with the job they did.

Tommy Mahre over Promises and totally under delivers. We had an entire house packed in long island and moved to Florida. To start, about 20 of our boxes were mislabled, so if you want your VCR and dumbells along with wall decorations in the same box, oh yeah they weren't in a box they were in a gym bag, then I guess it's OK. We still can't find our coffee carafe, and if hall closet linens are supposed to have crushed decorative flags and a 50 cup coffee urn in the box, then I guess it's OK. Those pictures of how he wraps the wall and puts down runners to protect your house is also bogus. NEVER HAPPENED. HIs Driver. RUDE AND INCONSIDERATE. He actually went into our refrigerator, stuck his filthy hands into a box of fried chicken and proceeded to walk out of the living room where we had to clean crumbs out of the rug. DUSTY.. FILTHY.. BOXES and a mattress unwrapped on the floor of the truck that is now filthy. When we called Tommy Mahre to discuss the dissatisfaction, he called the driver to apologize to us, all we got was an employee being defense and hung up on us when we tried to speak. WELL we know where that comes from, because when Tommy MAhre called us back and we tried to speak he also hung up in us..TWICE.. So, if you are dissatisfied you will get no where. If you want dirty, dusty, mislabled boxes, rude drivers and an owner who don't care this is the guy to go to. We gave a generous tip to both drivers before leaving New York, as I wanted a good delivery once they got there, but I guess once one of the drivers got his money he figured what the heck, he just didn't care.So my advice, don't tip until done. Verity was our 2nd choice. Sorry we didn't go to him.

THE MOVE WENT JUST AS PLANNED AND WITHOUT INCIDENT

Couldn't have asked for a better experience and each of my siblings agrees. Tommy Maher was an absolute pleasure to deal with and his guys Rob and Dan were just superb. Not one second of time was wasted from the moment they arrived to the moment they departed each destination. They took great care with our mom's stuff, which wasn't terribly valuable in the monetary sense, but priceless in the sentimental sense. They wrapped everything carefully, logged every single item and made zero mistakes in delivering to the proper recipient. Extremely polite, personable and professional. Almost too good to be true! I have absolutely no reservation recommending them.

He was prompt and everything was fine. Nothing was broken.

Maher Van Lines was extremely professional from start to finish. The owner, Tommy Maher, came to the house initially to give me an estimate and was there on the day that his men started the move. He was also very helpful in giving us tips on how to prepare for the move. He was in constant contact with me before and during the move to give me the latest updates. Everything came off without a hitch. Two of the men who packed up the goods were also there to unpack it, so they were familiar with the furniture, and re-assembling it was not a problem. I would highly recommend this company to anyone planning a future move.

Everyone I spoke to, at every step of the way, from Tommy the owner to the driver Rob and his helper Dan, were extremely personable and easy to work with. Tommy was very patient with me as I worked through the logistics of getting my belongings delivered from Florida without having to spend the money to fly down there and supervise the process myself. My things are not monetarily valuable, but Rob and Dan were sensitive to the value they meant to me. I was always treated with the utmost respect. My things were well taken care of, including a large houseplant that made the trip with no damage at all!

I was a little afraid to use Maher because they were half the price (estimate) of all others I called. They specialize in moves from NY to FL. I couldn't afford the others, so I thought I'd take a shot. I moved 11 boxes and 4 antique pieces of furniture, including a 100 lb. Victrola and a glass front China cabinet. They came on time, the estimate was exact, they delivered it in FL in 4 days, they were polite, professional and did a great job. There was not a scratch on any of the furniture, the boxes are intact (I have not opened all of them but those not opened show no wear). The only extra cost was $25 for tolls I was not told about.
