I have been using Greenfield for years. I stoped using them a few years back because of how rude the owner is. I gave them another chance. They came to fix my water sprinkler system in my house. They came out 3 times (charged me each time) . The sprinkler overflow system is still not working. They were scheduled to come out on Friday b/n 9-1. At 3pm they finally showed up, as I was leaving to take my daughter to a doctors appointment. The driver said “sorry for being late. I got busy”. Later that night my sink backed-up b/c it was a clogged pipe. So I called to ask for someone to come out asap. At this time I was told it would be $199 to activate the emergency service. Joe (the owner) called me back and told me it would be an additional $299 to send a plumber. I explained they were supposed to be at my house earlier in the day. Joe was extremely arrogant and just mean. Joe has a big head and is NOT professional. Use Greenfield at your own risk. Very unhappy ex-customer.

I'm here for 16 years, had this issue in the past, had called Roto-Rooter and they always cleared the blockage. RR was a little pricey, so this time, at the recommendation of a neighbor, I tried a local business. Explained the history and who we used. The technician hardly payed attention to the history I was providing. Proceeded to snake out the main with his machine. After going 53 ft, about 2/3 the way to the street, he encountered the blockage. The machine , which looked small, started to bind up. He brought the tool back with no roots attached. He indicated that it could be a broken or damaged pipe. After reminding him again what had happen in the past with roots, he changed the head to a root cutter. This time came back with a hand full of roots. He indicated that he didn't want to damage the iron piping and they should get a camera to inspect. OK, don't want to have his machine snap in the process. Called his shop for a camera and arrived in 15 mins. The camera showed roots in the pipe and at 53ft a massive amount a fine roots were blocking the way. Explained that the machine he had was to small and a larger one was needed, good, and they had one at their shop, BUT suggested I call anther company, to have the work done. Explained in the past Roto-Rooter came with the appropriate size machine and they cleared the pipe which then lasted 3-4 years. Spoke to the manager Joe who indicated that this blockage was beyond their abilities. Asked about there bigger snake machine but stuck with his referral. Bottom line is that Greenfield cleared the line but the root ball/blockage is still there. They were able to run up the camera, but not the bigger snake machine. Roto-rooter offered to come today, but an non-emergency appointment was made for tomorrow instead, so we will have the whole day to clear out the roots. Will get back to you folks and let you know the result.

Greenfield completed an extensive AC installation to our home in May 2019 with LG ductless split units. The quote provided was competitive, certainly not the cheapest but we went forward with them wanting to support a local, independent business. The work was completed on time, but unfortunately one of the main systems installed had issues from the start. For 6 months we lodged complaints with phone calls and emails with little response, and service visits that blamed LG but took little responsibility for the issue. We engaged legal counsel, and the issues were "conveniently" resolved and the unit was FINALLY replaced pursuant to the contract. If you need AC work done, please go elsewhere. This was an incredible waste of time that resulted in additional legal fees to ensure the contract was adhered to.

"Mrs. [Member Name Removed], I am quite taken aback that you would give us such a scathing review. As you stated their was an issue with one of the three systems we installed for you from the start. The issue with the system in question was a manufacturer's defect from LG, our installation work for all three system was correct. We didn't run away from the job and tell you to contact LG, quite to the contrary we have done everything we could possible do to get the issue corrected. First we trouble shot the problem with LG over the phone and they felt the problem was with the air handler. So we pumped the whole system down, changed the air handler with a new one and recharged the system. When you contacted us and told us the problem was occurring again we had LG have a representative come out and check the system. We ran tests while recording data onto a lap top for several hours and had the representative check our entire install, he felt everything was installed perfect. After LG analyzed the data, they suggested we adjust the refrigerant charge. We again recovered all the refrigerant and recharged the system to their specs. When the issue happened after this again, we began fighting with LG that we wanted them to replace the entire system under warranty, which they did not want to do. We then decided to purchase entirely new equipment for you out of our own pocket, which we still have not been reimbursed for by LG. Then completely redid your entire install at no cost to you of any kind. I completely understand your frustration and believe me we feel it too. I can't even begin to count the number of hours we have invested beyond our initial install between continued work at your home and fighting with LG and our supplier. However, the issue was from the product manufacturer and not with anything that was in our control. To give us such a review is truly unfair, we did every single thing a good company could do for a customer. Including finally replacing the entire install out of pocket to make things right."

Since I did not know the cause I called Greenfield; who had been to the house before as an authorized dealer/service provider of this brand of water heater. Although they claim they offer 24/7 service, they won’t talk to you on a weekend without a $100 credit card charged fee. A service person came out on a Sunday and I was charged in total $378 (includes the $100) to have the technician basically unplug and replug in my water heater. This “repair” lasted only three days and the same error codes returned by mid-week. This time the owner, Joey came out and indicated that a new mixing value was necessary. They would have to order the part and they could get it by Friday and install it. The cost would be nearly $485. He indicated that he would order the part. After thinking about it, I called Joey to question my overall cost since they had been to my home twice in the same week and would need to return a third time to repair it. He was quite unprofessional, claiming that I dragged his technician away from his family on a weekend and that he and his team were entitled to every dollar they were charging and more. He then unprofessionally elected to not follow through on getting and installing the part for me. I have had to spend several days tracking down the part and finding someone else to get it and install it for me for much less than Joey wanted to charge me. I had every right to question all the charges. Joey was unprofessional in how he dealt with me as now a former customer. I hope Navien reconsiders naming them one of their authorized dealer/service providers.

They saddled me with "their" contractor who overcharged me, was unresponsive to phone calls and texts, and then dragged on the work for weeks. Although Greenfield's level of work was acceptable, they absolved themselves of any responsibility for the contractor's business practices. Will definitely not use again. Extremely expensive.

I called the company in the morning of 12/12/2016 to inquire about getting my leaky bathroom faucet looked at. They informed me that someone was in town not far away, and within 30 minutes the plumber showed up at my door. He inspected the leak and informed me I should probably replace both faucet stems, since they were ceramic cartridge style and couldn't be rebuilt/repaired, and this is what was causing the leak. The plumber then left my house to go retrieve the parts required, and returned in about 30 minutes. He told me each replacement stem was $50, totaling $100 in new parts. After repairs were made, the total was $381.30 after labor and sales tax, plus a $60 "dispatch fee" that I wasn't informed about beforehand. When I called the office to ask about this, they said it was standard fee, and left it at that. Overall, I am happy with the work performed but would have liked to have been told about the $60 fee upfront. It would have been nice if they had offered a slight discount since I was unaware of this fee, but unfortunately no such offer was extended to me.

He did an excellent job. They were very through and stand by their work. They go above and beyond and guarantee their work. They are not the cheapest company and my challenge with them is the prices are very high, but the quality of work is top notch.

The guys were great, friendly, professional, but the job took longer then expected for a  two man crew and when I got the bill........I was not thrilled. I admit to having no idea what the going rate is for this type of job, but this was a very basic plumbing job and the price for the work was much higher then I expected. There were no major issues that had to be addressed that would justify the added cost.
To be fair the home office did give abit of a discount at my request and I have used them several times in the past because they do good work. But because of the high price tag on this job and the last ,I may seek another option.

This contractor charges for giving estimates.  Another time we called them to provide us with a quote on a new heating/AC system.  They said that if we purchased the system from them, they would credit the fee.  They charged us for coming to our house and providing an estimate.  We paid Greenfield and purchased our heating/AC system elsewhere.
Response from GREENFIELD PLUMBING & HEATING
"Mrs. [Member Name Removed] While I appreciate you taking the time to review us here on Angie's list I feel I must correct some of your information. We do not charge for estimates on work. In your case you contacted us for a price on a new water heater (we have never given you a quote for heating/AC work) which we are capable of doing over the phone. However, you wanted us to look at the work first since you were have a water pressure issue as well. We were more than happy to come check it but informed you that since we were sending a technician we were going to charge a service call fee of $79.99 (not $200) which would be credited to the water heater price if you decided to have us do it. You decided not to have us do the work so you were charged $79.99 plus tax. I apologize if you were unhappy with the experience but I feel we were more than fair. Also, this all took place on 3/14/2013 so I am little confused as to why you felt the need to review us so negatively almost three years after the fact. Sincerely, Joseph Clarke Jr. Greenfield Plumbing & Heating"

The plummer (Billy) came in and realized the garbage disposal he came with would not fix. He left and promising that he would research what unit would fit. By the end of the day he e-mailed me the unit that would work. I informed the co that I purchased the unit and they set up an appointment 2 days later. The unit was installed, unfortunately as Billy had already informed me there was no electricity under the  sink so I have to call a electrician. This job was painless and quick.
