Mr. Maine was very professional in his presentation as well as the installation of his product. He arrived for both the estimate and the installation dates as promised and did the installation in a timely and apparently professional manner. The performance of the gutter protection system appears to be most acceptable. About a week after the installation, when pulling into my driveway, my attention was drawn to the gutter section over my garage door. There appeared to be dark shadows along the edge of the roof where the shingles meet the gutter. The problem turned out to be the aluminum drip edge that is installed under the first course of shingles. The gutter protection product is installed just under this drip edge. In order to do so, the drip edge had to be lifted up so that the gutter protection screen could be slid under it. In so doing, the drip edge had been bent in and out along its length and the dents created distortions to the integrity of the drip edge resulting in "shadows" that are abundantly obvious from the ground. This same phenomenon is apparent in several other areas of the house as well. This type of workmanship is hard to believe if only because the damage to the drip edge could have easily been prevented by better care in the installation process. I called Mr. Maine about this and he told me he would be in the area to take care of this the week following my call. He never showed. I called on two other occasions to speak further with him and was only able to leave a message - which I did. He has yet to return my calls and that was 31/2 months ago. I also wrote him a personal letter explaining my unhappiness about this problem and, again, no further communication from him. This experience is totally counter to the manner in which he introduced his product and service as well as the installation itself - save for the damage to the drip edge. For a project that cost me $2,000, I think a small consideration of "service after the sale" is not only in order, but unexpectedly absent given my face-to-face experience with Mr. Maine.
Description of Work: The company owner, Mr. Randy Maine, sold me a gutter protection system and personally installed it. The product appeared to be of good quality and reviews from the Internet seemed to support the claims and promotion for its intended purpose. After meeting me at my home, he showed me the product, took measurements and presented a price quotation. The product is applied over the gutter to prevent leaf and other debris from entering the gutter thereby preventing gutter overflow and backup of water in the downspouts. Upon accepting the quote, I provided a down payment and Mr. Maine gave me an approximate installation date. When the product was delivered to him, he called for an installation appointment and completed the job at that time.
