"It was truly a privilege to care for Fatty. I always enjoyed my visits with her. I was so sad to hear the news that Fatty had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. My only regret is that her wonderful pet parents had moved and I did not get to say goodbye. But I do know that 2 new kittens will be joining the family soon and I know they will be "all loved up"."

"I appreciate the feedback the feedback from [member name removed]. When [member name removed] and I first discussed my caring for her 3 dogs and 2 cats, I indicated to her that travel time may be an issue as one of her dogs required an insulin injection 2x per day at in a specific time frame. The time frame that was needed during the afternoon was during "rush hour" and my travel time was greatly increased. After our first series of visits, I informed her that it was not going to be possible to continue to take care of her pets and provided her with information on several additonal pet sitters that were in her more in her area than I was. I gave her the names of several organizations that listed pet sitters in her area as well. There was a dangerous blizzard predicted to hit our area and I advised her to put off travel because it may be difficult or impossible for me to get to her pets. She chose to travel anyway. I convinced her (in a phone conversation, the day before the blizzard hit that she should find a place to board her dogs where it would be safe and her dog that needed the insulin shot would get it. The storm hit very quickly making travel extremely dangerous. Despite the intensity of the snow I went to her home and was able to get her 3 dogs with all of the necessary items to a kennel. I then returned to her home to make sure that her cats had enough food and water to last for several days as I knew that it would be at least a day before I could return. We received a total of 30 inches in our area. I returned to her home a day later and continued to care for her cats until she returned. Prior to the storm I had asked that she make arrangements to have her walk shovelled. She did not. I shovelled my way into her home which took about 45 minutes. I informed her after this incident that I could no longer care for her pets. Pet sitting is a cooperative relationship between owner and pet sitter. When it does not work, it is best to disolve the relationship. I have an excellent reputation in my business and feel that this response was necessary as I feel I acted in a professional manner, dispite the danger to myself during the storm.
