Michael's Piping, Heating, and Sewer Cleaning, Inc

I had a leak in my building. Lots of water. The main water line was shutoff for the night. Called a Michael's and they said they could be there in the morning. But they wanted $175 just to check it out. Called a few other plumbers and they were unable to come this morning. So I chose Michael's. Just got a call from the service guy there and he says there NO LEAKS and since he been there 2 hours the service charge is now $300.00 PLUS TAX. Will not use them again.

Over the last few months the water pressure in the kitchen, bathroom and backyard has steadily decreased to the point of nearly being non existent. I called several plumbers to see if the water pressure could be increased but after they arrived, one said he only dealt with outside pipes leading to the sewer and the other promised to write up an estimate and I never heard from him again. I called Michael Sperlazza and made an appointment for him to come see if he could help. He said the problem was that the galvanized pipes used when the house was built in 1910 had corroded to the point there was almost no water flow and had to be replaced. He gave me a price and made an appointment to do the work the following weekend. (Note. At the end of the first day day of work I was told there would be an additional cost for the work done in the bathroom because he had to replace some fixtures). On the appointed day Michael arrived with his son and they went right to work. At the end of the day they had replaced most of the pipes but they had more work to do so they had to come back the following weekend. They were coming back Saturday at 8am but about 7:45am their office called to cancel and reschedule for the next day. They arrived on Sunday at 8 and went right to work. By noon they were done and I had water again! An unintended consequence was an increase in water pressure in the kitchen and bathroom upstairs even though there was not a problem with it previously! I told Michael about it and he said he replaced the original 1/2 inch pipes with 3/4 inch pipes so the water flow increase also increased the water flow which benefited the entire house. The work was excellent and they were prompt and professional. They took the pipes out of the house and put them in the backyard where I tied them up and took them out with the trash later in the week. Overall I was happy with the work but the one downside is that Michael doesn't tile work. As a result, the shower wall in the bathroom has several holes in it I have to repair. Michael covered it with plastic do I can use it until I have it repaired, which I'll probably have done the first week of the new year. Despite this, I would still recommend Michael and will definitely use him again.

Assessed problem immediately and replaced a corroded pipe. Also checked a running toilet and fixed it for me at no additional charge. Michael and his son Nicholas were friendly and professional. He is now my new "go to" plumber. The cost was reasonable. Would definitely recommend this company.

When I called mike he responded right away. Without any dispatching systems. He negotiated the cost very straight forward. Then we scheduled the time next day. He and his son arrived on time. Job done. I highly recommend mikes service.

Mike is the best plumber that i have met,no doubt about it. Water had been leaking through a kitchen and bathroom ceiling for a month The problem was that the leakage was intermitent.Sometimes we went to bed and everything was fine,wake up the next morning and find a pool of water in the hallway outside the bathroom door.Look up at the ceiling above the water nothing was dripping.For the past three weeks Mike would call and have us report if we had leakage and the location of the leaks On 12/23/2014 Mike came over.The outside temperature was in the high 40s,with the thermostat set at 70 degrees the boiler had shut off. Mike reset the thermostat to 76 degrees to restart the boiler.When steam got to the radiators the ceiling started to leak. He then checked the master bathroom radiator and found the leaking valve and pipe nipple. They were both hidden up against the wall under the radiator cover in the Master Bath. When the boiler was off the leakage dissapeared. Thanks to Mike we will have a Christmas without leakage.

Although it was the first cold snap and heating priorities made it almost impossible to find someone who would come within a day, Mike was willing to fit the repair into his schedule. He came on time and immediately assessed the problem correctly. He honestly described what work was necessary and what was not, saving me the cost of unnecessary repairs. He even showed me the corroded parts. He was highly professional, well trained, and worked efficiently so the job was not prolonged. He worked neatly and cleaned up any debris when finished. His prices were reasonable and left me feeling like I got good value for the services he provided. It was one of the best experiences I've had working with a plumber and I highly recommend him. Without hesitation, I plan on using his services again.

The plumber and his son were on time, the price was good, they were very professional, and informative.

After a week of unsuccessfully trying to get our regular plumber here, I called Michael on a Monday afternoon about an undetermined leak (plaster and paint bubble filled with water in our 1st floor bathroom ceiling and wall) and he said he'd be here the next day between 9 and 10am. He called the next morning at 8am to confirm and was here by 8:30, going right to work by testing 2nd floor washing machine, bathroom and kitchen fixtures to find the leak. He found small leaks in the kitchen (faucet and drain pipe) as well as in the washing machine return hose and fixed them all by 9:40am. He was very professional, explained everything and guaranteed his labor and materials for one year.

Very on time! Honest about problem on 1st and 2nd floor. Very professional and curteous. Michael and his son came out and did the work. They snaked bathtub and kitchen which had clogs. Pipes under kitchen sink had to be replaced. They explained things, answered questions. We thought the price was resonable and he gave my mom senior discount. I was very happy with them

It went very well. He was on time for both jobs. He knew exactly what had to be done. It didn't take him long at all. I actually thought it would take longer. The clean up...he did it all. I didn't have to do anything! Thank you Michael, I will definitely recommend you to my friends.

They came in the at the cheapest price on a larger boiler. The fact that they had the job completed in one day, and stayed to make sure that everything was complete was great. Everyone else said two days. They took the extra time to make sure everything was done right.

When the person answered the phone, instead of answering in a professional manor they answered in just the word, "Hello." Then there was a 4 second awkward silence. I did not feel that the phone manor was proper for a business which turned me off.

Mr. Sperlazza arrived punctually. Was super courteous and professional. Put in a gas line as well as two water lines and even hooked up the washer (and tried to hook up the dryer, but couldn't because it's an electrician's job to do so. The dryer is only electric and not gas). I will recommend him to all of my friends!

I called Michael's plumbing based on a review on Angie's List as well as a friend. They came within the hour and diagnosed the problem immediately. Michael went on the roof and realized there was a gap near the chimney. Fantastic turnaround time and great skills

I was shocked. He took out the old sink and put in a new vanity in less than an hour. Put all the piping in. He was phenominal. Quick and professional.

He was professional and excellent. He let me know what time he would be coming and then even arrived early!

I called Michael at 9am. I also had another plumber coming over who said I needed a new toilet and had to measure it and go home depot and get it myself. Water was dripping down to my ceiling from toilet on 2nd floor. Michael came over within the hour and told me I just needed new parts and showed me the parts as he rmoved them. The cost was a total of $250 ..done quickly and he was polite and informative, Going to use him again to install new sink and cabinets in my kitchen. A guy you can trust!

He did a very neat job. He did it in a timely fashion and I was happy with his work. We were very satisfied with the price as well.

I called for a plumber in the morning and they sent someone to my apartment by 2 pm that afternoon. The dispatcher was really helpful and very pleasant. They called a half hour before to confirm that I was home and he arrived promptly. They don't take credit cards but do accept checks. I will definitely use them again!

Michael said he'd be at my apartment between 9 and 10 a.m. and showed up at 9:25. He was professional, polite and very patient with my questions. I explained that I was a little nervous because the contractors that had done my renovation several years ago were terrible and I'm trying to fix all of that now. He gave me advice on keeping the drain clear (vinegar and baking soda!) and when he wasn't able to repair a weird shower piece, he described a workaround I could easily do myself. I will hire Michael again when I save enough pennies to install a new tub.

THE WORK WAS VERY GOOD

Mike showed up and identify problem right away. I asked him what i wanted done and did not hesitate to say yes. Gave me a quote which i agreed on and came back a few hours later to perform work. Had to rip a section of the wall to access broken drain pipe but definitely knows his stuff and his work proves it. He cleaned up afterwards and let everything neat all in 3 hours. Will use again for boiler maintenance.

Michael proceeded to repair the 2 toilets first. He also told me that there was a chance that the sink pipe might crack because of it's age (original to house built in 1955) and if so, the cost involved. He said he would be careful and he was. The pipe survived the procedure! So 3 problems were fixed and I thought the cost was reasonable. I like that this business is a small operation. Michael told me the repairs would take about 1 hour and he was right on time. I have used plumbers in the past that have larger companies and they send their apprentices in to do the job but still charge me the same -- which I have found is always overpriced. I found Michael to be honest and upfront. Will definitely use his services again.

The basement toilet was leaking around the bottom seal - I suspected a bad flange. Michael came himself - quick diagnosis of a broken bolt and worn wax seal. Previous plumber had not used a plaster bed to seat the toilet. He had the necessary materials with him, made the repairs quickly and cleanly.

We live on the ground floor of a building in New York that was built in the 1860's. Needless to say the plumbing is temperamental, antiquated and often failing. I called this company and they had someone over the same day. He came in got straight to work in the basement on replacing piping and did a fantastic job of cleaning up the huge mess that was made in the process. And you can't beat the price. This is not your typical plumbing company.
