"It was our mistake that this customer was given the wrong estimate. We gave her an estimate based on square footage, and not an hourly rate. It was the company's lack of communication to the employee doing the estimate. At the least, we would be more than happy to provide a new estimate based on an hourly rate. "Regarding the above statement, the coupon was for $399.00, which covered 8 hours of painting. The ceilings in the living room were 16 feet high. Cutting in, taping, covering, moving furniture, and setting up ladders, also takes time, which IS included in the 8 hours. It is mentioned above, that the Owner stated “ The BIG DEAL would only cover the living room area” Beginning the foyer, would have put us into another day of work. The customer then would have been responsible for the labor time then. As per the conversation regarding the fuel surcharge, the crew was working during this conversation, by unloading the truck and bringing in the materials that were needed. As a result of our conversation, the customer was NOT charged the fuel surcharge. As for the scheduling issue, the customer and I had a hard time coming to a start date which brought in some confusion, When we did come to a start date; it was in MY error by not scheduling it with my crew. None of these customers’ complaints constitute a refund of any sort. It is in my opinion that this customer is trying to get something for nothing. Owner stated, and customer also mentioned it in the complaint that “the BIG DEAL would only cover the living room” Owner did explain to him that it would NOT cover the foyer. As my crew finished the job that day, I had spoke with the wife, and I had asked her, “Are you happy with the job?’, and she stated, “It was good.”"

"Dear Member, I am sorry you are not satisfied with HV DECK AND Wall services. In response to your comment, I would like to explain to you and the members of Angies List the circumstances surrounding your complaint. I gave you a detailed written estimate for the services that you requested prior to us starting any services, and you agreed the estimate. At no point, did you speak to me while the work was being done and tell me not to continue. As removal was being done for the wallpaper, there were cracks in the walls that needed to be corrected. Underlying cracks in walls, plaster walls, or foundations can cause serious illnesses to anyone. Bacteria and mold can begin to grow once the cracks are exposed to flowing air. We were unaware that the walls were in the condition they were in before removing the wallpaper. As the limited square footage you spoke about, the coupon states that it is $199.99 per 160 square feet. It also states that some projects can take longer than others. I have been trying to call you and speak to you regarding this matter. If you could please contact me, so we can speak further about it, I would appreciate it. Again I am sorry for the confusion, and misunderstanding of the contract and the coupon that was advertised."
