M & M MOVING

I have filed a complaint with the BBB and with the regulatory agency that controls them. They go by several names. Their website is www.rocklandmovers.com. They screwed me. Essentially they did not fulfill their promises in terms of pricing and the quality of the move. They were going to move our household goods from New York to Florida. They gave us a binding estimate with the cost. They said it was a flat fee and would be the total cost of the move. This included packing, transportation, and unloading in Florida. The day they showed up the driver said he was not authorized to pack or load the truck unless we agreed to pay so much additional per cubic foot beyond 1800 cubic feet of material. There was nothing in the estimate other than a flat estimate for $7700 and said they would not load us at all unless we agreed to pay $4.50 per cubic foot beyond 1800 cubic feet. We of course were ready for the move, hotel reservations and everything was set. This was not the original contract. We finally agreed because everything was all set. They also promised us a house to house move meaning they were going to load everything on the truck and everything would stay on the truck and unloaded at the house in Florida. That did not happen either. They went through several trucks and some of the stuff was put in storage for a week. They did do a good job packing but their honesty and quality was an F.
