Steve and his son are a joy to work with. This is the third job that he has done for me and I will use him again. He is prompt and very professional. He and his son work at a pace that is remarkable to me. I purchased 8 hours of service and they accomplished all of the above tasks in that time (4 hours with 2 of them working). They provide advice and are very collaborative in making sure that work is performed to my satisfaction. They are models for how you wish all contractors would perform.

I have used them three times recently. They are always prompt, efficient, clean and pleasant. Billing process on the spot is great. I highly recommend.

I was thoroughly impressed with Steve Nichol. I called and left a message asking for a reply ASAP indicating whether or not he would be able to help me. He called me back within a minute. As most of you know, this does not usually happen with many companies. He called as he was in route to a job. It was already almost 4 pm in the afternoon and told me he could be at my house first thing in the morning, which he was. He was upfront about his rate at the time of the call. When he came to the house, he moved quickly through the house trying to find the problem (I had a problem on a GFI breaker line). He was courteous and friendly, while also working very fast so as not to clock the time for the bill. He found the source of the problem within 5-10 minutes (a loose connection in an outlet which was first on the line from the box). He fixed it quickly and was at my house less than 30 minutes. He charged $50 for the service call and $35.00 for the half hour of labor. In my opinion, it was the best $91.00 I spent. He was professional, prompt, courteous, and I would use him again without hesitation. I agonized over whether to call a serviceman in because I felt like I should be able to find the problem myself, but it would have taken me forever to find the problem. He did it so fast, afterall, this is his profession! Money well spent!!!! I will not hesitate to call him in the future!!!!

Excellent, he and his son showed up right on time and had the job done in no time. Both men are very professional, kind, courteous and neat! They clean up all their mess after themselves.

It was fine. He did some extra things for us and it all worked out well.

Steve was a pleasure to deal with from the very first phone call. I described what I wanted done and he was able to give me a price range estimate right over the phone. The estimate was very reasonable, so we setup a date and timeframe. He was able to call me about an hour before arrival so I wouldn't have to miss too much work. The day of the work, Steve and his son arrived right on time. They brought all of their tools and materials in and after a quick review of what we wanted done, got right to work. With the snow on the ground I especially appreciated the fact that they took their shoes off every time before coming in the house. I couldn't believe how fast they were able to get the job done, and Steve only charged me the low end of the estimate. He even offered to give me a hand moving the aquarium back to its normal location. I have dealt with a lot of contractors who don't bother returning phone calls, are borderline rude, late for appointments, etc. Steve is exactly the opposite of this. He was punctual, responsive courteous and honest. I will not hesitate to call Steve for future electrical projects. As a matter of fact, I found Steve to be so nice to deal with that the next time I need a contractor for non-electrical work, I will probably contact him to see if he can give me some referrals.

I had just recently joined Angie's List. Since none of our friends could recommend an electrician, I decided to check Angie's List and take a chance. I am so glad I did! I called Steve about 10 am on the 27th of January. I explained my problem and that I was hoping to be able to only install the Ground Fault Outlet we had already purchased. I told him there was no real urgency to our problem. He indicated that he had just had a cancellation and could have someone come right over. I inquired about estimates of cost and length of time for the job as we had an appointment scheduled for later in the afternoon. He said his "guy" would be at our house in about 1/2 hour and the job would take 1/2 hour. The "guy" arrived exactly on time (turned out it was his son). Without delay, he asked where the problem was. We showed him to the room, gave him the outlet we had purchased and within the 1/2 hour (or less) he had sorted out the problem, installed the outlet, the 2 switches next to that box and replaced the face plate. I went to get my checkbook, paid the bill and went in to clean up the little bits of wire and insulation....it was ALL cleaned up! My dad was a building contractor working on his own. He always insisted on cleaning up the day's mess before he left for home each night. How I wish he was still with us so I could share with him that I found someone with the same values!

He was great and I would highly recommend him! I’m in an usual house so the standard size didn’t fit mine. Things kept interfering with construction on the house, so I do intend to have him do it. He was totally professional, courteous and helpful.

Went extremely well. Two minor issues: installed a white switch and plate on a brown wall and replaced an old outlet with a new one that's mechanically deficient. Neither issue worth complaining about or following up on.

I am extremely happy we went with this contractor. The person that did the work was the owner's son - he was fantastic, very knowledgeable, and courteous. We took advantage of a "Get $200 worth of electrical work for $99" deal, and had them replace 2 light switches, fix a third switch that was wired incorrectly, and repair an external light post and outlet that had a blown light sensor. The work was done professionally, and as we watched it being done, we were able to ask all kinds of questions about what was being done, as well as other projects we are considering. All of our questions were answered expertly - it was very clear that he knew his job, and took pride in doing it. I would absolutely use them again, and plan to in the summer when we tackle the lighting in our kitchen.

I highly recommend Nichols Electric and will definitely use them for any electrical work needed in the future. The initial assessment was done by son Steve. He showed up on time, was courteous and respectful to me and my home and answered all my questions in language that a non-electrician could understand. I received a quote via email shortly after his consultation. The day before the work appointment I received an email and was able to confirm the appointment without needing to call them. On the day of the job, father and son arrived on time, reviewed the "game" plan and proceeded to complete all work in about 2 hours. Both Steve (father) and Steve (son) were professional, efficient, and courteous. All of the electrical work was done completely to our (husband and my ) satisfaction.

Went very well. Would use Steve again. He was punctual, friendly, courteous. Did a good job. He returned my calls promptly. I find it difficult to find service providers of this caliber.

They were very friendly. They just came in and did what they said. It was a good experience. There was nothing that I didn't like.

Set up an appointment and technician arrived on time. Knew immediately what to look for after I described problem - even though it was working when he arrived. Replaced breaker in main box and then checked plugs etc on rest of circuit in case the initial problem was not the only one and did find a loose wire in a plug. He also kept me informed of what he was doing and why. All the time being very polite, friendly and professional.

Amazing. I called Steve for an estimate on a Friday afternoon and he literally arrived in under an hour in a Nichols branded van. He took notes on his tablet, and explained clearly what he would do. He conveyed expertise and instilled confidence from the start. Within a short period of time later he emailed me an itemized estimate. I also received a hard copy estimate in the mail. I scheduled an appointment for 3 weeks later. He responded to any questions I had via email ahead of time. At our appointment time, Steve arrived on time with his son and immediately began work. They worked non-stop until after lunch. They removed a rats nest of old circuit breakers (Federal brand I think) and installed a single clean new electric panel. For a small cost extra they replaced a bunch of older, crusty 2-prong outlets with new grounded 3-prong outlets. Steve answered my questions during the process, helping to educate me on the wiring of my house. They also honored an Angie's List discount. Note: Before contacting Nichols Electrical, I had called one other company offering a deal on Angie's List. That company was difficult to get a hold of and offered a set price for panel replacement. That price did not include moving the meter box, replacing the cable into the house, or any other work. By contrast, from the start Steve was clear about what he would do and what it would cost me. As a new home owner, I really appreciated this straight-forward exchange.

Fast, efficient, and knowledgeable. A pleasure to have them in the home and I will definitely use again. I needed this work done for awhile, but was unsure of whom to hire when some friends who used Nichols gave high praises. As most folks, I kept putting it off . When a special offer for his service was offered on Angie's List, it triggered me to call him and get the job done. The lights in the kitchen over the peninsula now allow me to see what I'm preparing, the hall lights now let me look into the closet, and the new outlet in the bathroom? Priceless. Plus, isolating the current bathroom GFI will eliminate shutting off all the master bedroom lights when I accidently trip the button.

Went well. Did not call before coming, but did show up. I had neglected to give him one detail, so he had to go out and purchase an additional item. Did not complain, but also was obviously annoyed. Also brought young son with him to help; not a big deal, but would have liked to know about it, just as an FYI

It went well. There is no additional cost. He did all of that in 15 minutes. He was super fast. I don't have any issues with it. It's working fine.

Steve showed up during the time window he said he would. Steve and his son were professional. They went right to work and finished the job quicker than I had expected. The install looked professional and the work area was clean when they were completed. I would use them again in the future without hesitation.

First guy they sent out said that he would have to go into the attic to install the light, and that I needed a medallion to put on the ceiling. Second guy they sent was the contractor's son. He really knew what he was doing, did not need to go into attic to install light. (He was adorable, so young & cute). Love the new light.

Steve arrived at precisely on time even though he works on a 2-hour window. He works quickly. He's very personable, capable, and will pass up work if it already works—I thought I had a bad downstairs plug. Will definitely call again.

They quoted a price over the phone. The arrved EXACTLY when they said they would. The electrician communicated with me, and the price came in $35 less than previously quoted. They generated an invoice while they were on the premises and emailed it to me while I waited. Excellent price, punctuality professionalism, quality, and service!
