Northern Windows, Siding, Roofing, & Insulation

Had leaking roof replaced. Two layers stripped down to sheathing. Had ridge vent installed, snow shield, 50 yr GAF architectural shingles., drip moldings and synthetic felt paper House was protected with tarps, crew showed up along with shingle delivery. Workers removed roof and had shingles lowered on roof via crane at the same time. Crew worked like a fine oiled machine. Had old roof removed, new roof installed and yard cleaned and done by 3pm. Couldn't ask for better.

After reviewing the roofing companies in the area based on feedback from Angies list, I chose Northern for their professionalism, their technical ability to explain and defend the methodology on how they replace an existing roof. Northern is a lean, small family run operation that takes great pride in their work and want to ensure their customer is satisfied enough to be a repeat customer. Their sales person Steve went over with me all my options in great detail before I signed up. I was able to visit their showroom and look at the various choices before signing the contact. If you are a potential customer, I would highly recommend visiting their showroom to pick and choose what works best for you. On the day of the installation, their crew was punctual and did a perfect textbook style installation laying out proper type of underlayment appropriately as needed. They replaced rotten plywood as needed and finished the job within a day. There were some minor snags during installation which got resolved. During install I had to make sure that vents for the baths on the second floor were being exhausted out properly. Since the crew did't have the aluminum vent (less than $15), I had to make a trip to home depot to buy them. I did not mind as these are minor things. Given the professionalism and the quality, I would hire them again. These guys did a fantabulous job and kept me up to date every instance along the way.

All of the work was done with the integrity and skill. Northern has stood by all of their workmanship and warranties. They were neat and made every effort to keep the work sites clean. They took the time to explain why they choose the materials they used, and how they would apply them. Their staff is knowledgeable of the industry and current best practices. Our home is over 100 yrs old and they came prepared to handle whatever might crop up. We strongly recommend Northern.

The job went very well. Ted arrived on time, both days. His work is professional, neat and clean. He swept up outside, used dropcloths inside and vacuumed. I normally am skeptical of the lowest priced contractor but they gave me a list of all the addresses in Homestead Village where they replaced windows. I went to several homes and checked out their work and was impressed so I gave them the job. I have two storm door and an entry door that need replacing and plan to hire Northern again.

The work was done exactly the way and in the time frame that I was quoted. The workers were very professional and always supervised. The house is much warmer and more energy efficient. Would highly recommend Northern for Insulation and Roofing Work.

Job was performed to perfection from start to finish. Weather cooperated and men were on the job every day until completed. Contractors were professional, polite and ready to please. Consulted my husband daily to make sure we were happy with the work. Great communication which is so important with a job of this size. Expensive but high quality..you get what you pay for. Would highly recommend.

Limited selection, high price,long lead time, one day install with good crew

It was a positive experience. They were very good and excellent.

Removed one layer of old roof, installed underlayment and ice shield, installed ridge vent including having to saw opening.  install architectural shingles. Seal all roof openings, pipes, chimneys.  Job was done in two days.  It was the hottest two days so far this season.  The men arrived early and worked most of one day and all of the second.  Even though I had agreed to having the plywood base replaced if needed, when Kevin inspected the roof after removing the old roof he informed me it wouldn't be necessary, saving me over $1300.  We are very happy with our new roof, looks great!

The team arrived on time.  They were very neat given the messy nature of the job.  They had to first remove all of the old insulation, air seal all gaps, then blow in the cellulose insulation.  the job took four days.  In that time the crew did their best to work around our schedules and respect our home.  We noticed almost immediately a difference, no drafts.  Based on the weatherization test before and after, we reduced by almost 45% the number of air exchanges.  We should see a significant reduction in this old house's oil consumption this winter.  
We have used them for our siding, windows, and roof.  All the work they have done has been excellent in quality.  They have always delivered at least what they promise and go the extra distance to make sure all is right. No high pressure sales and no selling what we don't need.
Lastly they honor their warranties, no questions asked.  It is always a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them.

We contacted several other contractors and were very pleased when we met Steve from Northern Windows who came to our home to discuss what his family's company does.  He was concise, thorough, and answered all our questions.  He didn't high pressure us or confuse us with many details, as one company did.  We felt the price was fair.  Their crew came on the scheduled day.  They completed the job in the time frame we were told and the windows were represented correctly.  There were no hidden surprises or costs.  We would highly recommend Northern Windows.  They were very professional and the quality of the work of their crew was exceptional.

• Northern Window's is a reliable and competent company.  They did exactly as was contracted to do within the time frame as promised.  The installer was great and completed the installation of the door and window making adjustments as necessary.  He was on time and took away all debris and cleaned up after the job was completed.  I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
