When I called Home Advisor, Anthony the owner, called me within minutes to set up a tech visit. Sean my tech was personable, professional and prompt. When he finished and left everything was back to normal, you would not have known he was here. I gave 4.5 on customer service only because I called on two different occasions during their normal business hours and got the answer service. According to the recording on the answering service their normal hours are 7:30 to 4:30, I called twice, on two different days, within these hours and got the emergency answering service recording. Yes, you can comfortably hire A. Johnson and his family with confidence.

Decided we didn't want to put the bulky window A/C units back in this year so it was time to see about a central air unit. Did all the research, and narrowed the brand to Lennox, but as Consumer Reports stated , a poor installation will negate the advantages of a top shelve unit. We got five estimates, three were Lennox certified, we decided on A.Johnson as Anthony ( Sales rep) showed on time, was very knowledable and had all the right answers to our questions, it was a "gut feeling" ,that payed off as the installers were also punctial, professional, efficient , competent and upon departing removed all packaging and other debris. We shortly found out that the A/C Unit WAS as good as advertised as within a week after installation we experienced several 80-90 degree days, and our Lennox unit performed flawlessly.You shouldn't be disappointed with A.Johnson Plumbing and Heating, I know we weren't ....." they done good"

We had our complete heating and cooling system replaced by this company at a cost of about $17,500.00 in the spring of 2015.We soon learned that most of their service technicians were not knowledgeable with the system they had installed. In December of 2016 the system started shutting down periodically,hitting the reset button turned it back on.Johnson said we needed to have our oil company change the routing of our oil lines.We did this at a cost of $403.92 .The furnace still was shutting down.To make a long story short we had another heating company come in and they took the time to get Lennox technicians on the phone and they walked them through what needed to be done.The problem is now fixed. The technician at Johnson that was supposed to be able to deal with a high tech system was not competent.Would never recommend this company.

It is my daughters house and her furnace went. I was at my daughters house for the installation. They came right out but could not do the job for 2 days being the weekend . They gave her heaters to use for free and did exactly what they said they would. They replaced her furnace and the job was done quickly and the cleanup was excellent. Definitely recommend. Prices were same or less than others we checked out.

We contacted several vendors for the replacement of a home boiler for radiator heating, and A. Johnson was not only very cost competitive but also provided a range of options to select. Their installation was professional and on time.

The estimator, James, came to do the estimate for us from A.J. Johnson. I was very impressed that he went into the attic and photographed all of the areas that needed special attention for proper air gap sealing. He also explained how that work would be done and why. He also did the Home Energy Assessment for our house. James was extremely helpful with the NYSERDA rebate process for having our attic insulated as well. He ended up doing most of the work on it for us. We were given estimates by A,J. Johnson for insulating other areas of the house. But no high pressure sales tactics were used when we said all we could afford to do right now was the attic and the cantilever, (because we have an overhang over our front door.) The installers were great to work with too. They did a great job keeping the house clean and picking up after they were done each day. The job took three days. There was 1 installer on days 1 and 3 and 2 on day 2. I asked for pictures of the "problem areas for the air gap sealing that needed special attention" after they had completed that part of the job and I got them! Just for the record, do research on the internet. The NYSERDA website is a great place to start. Get a bunch of estimates and research the company you plan to have do your insulation. Ask questions when the estimator is there. Make sure they are well trained, and I don't mean a 1 week course with no testing. It is important to me that this person has "LEGITIMATE CERTIFICATES." Don't let a low price fool you. All but 1 other company was cheaper, and it was cheaper by a lot. That should raise a red flag immediately. No one went to the lengths that James did in reviewing the insulation needs for our house. Two of the 7 companies we got estimates from went into the attic and took pictures. We only got copies from 1, A.J. Johnson. Of the 7, 6 went into the attic to take measurements and one didn't bother. When I asked why I was told "all these jobs are pretty much the same so we don't bother doing that anymore. Even though we paid more for the job than all but one of the 7 companies we got estimates from, I believe we got the best job that we could get. I have to add that the estimator, James, was fantastic to work with and that made the process go very smooth. He helped us throughout the entire procedure. He gave me his email and cell phone number when we got the estimate done. I'll bet he wished he didn't do that at least a couple times. I pestered him by cell phone and email a number of times and he always responded quickly and professionally. I would highly recommend A.J. Johnson for your insulation needs.

A long time in coming using State Program, not their fault, but once the state program gave the project the go ahead it was two days for a complete removal of the old furnace and installation of a new energy efficient furnace. At the same time they completely insulated our home. The tech's from A. Johnson were friendly, competent, and fast. Even though they ran into a problem with the piping from our 60 year plus system, it didn't faze them, they just figured it out and got the system going. Nice to have Heat for the first time since October. The owner of the company Tony, was here numerous times during the project and although the installers left, he stayed an extra hour or so to make sure the system was running right. I know this is considered part of his business but you had to have been here to realize that it was more than that. I have read some of the reviews that people thought this company was pricey, but in my opinion you get what you pay for, and comparison shopping showed not excessively high. Again you had to see what they went through to do the removal and installation. I did as I checked the progress during the project. The installers were very receptive to my doing so, and I appreciated that. I would give this company a 10 if it was possible.

Quality installers....but took longer than quoted....and on the expensive side....done in May 2015 after my old wall hung tankless boiler/water heater died....reviews of the new installed " triangle tube " boiler are shaky but so far so good. Winter time will tell....opted for 2 year service agreement to be on the safe side.

They scheduled the central AC installation within 4 days of the contract. They offered several payment options. Installation took 6 hours and the Lennox 2 ton unit works great.

This visit was for my AC unit, not heating. Very satisfied!
