We shopped around at local stores for mattresses and narrowed it down to the approximate model we liked (traditional spring firm mattress). We knew approx what it should cost, but various sellers had slightly different models, some included free delivery, some included free boxspring but charged for delivery, etc. Our previous experience buying a mattress about a decade ago left a bad taste in our mouths and we were sure we would be ripped off again. We walked into the Raymour and Flanigan to see what they had. We had only a bit of time as I had a dr appt to get to. Our saleswoman Fern was helpful without being at all pushy. She didn't try to upsell us. We knew which mattress we preferred and her price was in line with what we knew it should cost. She worked with us to quickly make it happen and even got us delivery 2 days later. The delivery process was also extremely organized and smooth. In fact, we originally ordered a bedframe from R&F but when it came and we took our old boxspring off we realized that our existing boxspring was perfectly good so we "refused delivery" on the new frame. This was easy to do, and Fern called the next day to say that they processed our refund. We have only had our mattress for a few weeks now so I can't comment on how well it wears but the ordering process was painless.
Description of Work: Provider sold me a mattress and boxspring, delivered them, and carted away old bedding.

It was good. They had to do a repair and they were good about that. We purchased a warranty but one of the cushions was defected when we got it and they replaced promptly. The price was fair.

I went to the Raymour and Flannigan location in Garden City NY in the summer of 2012. I had just purchased my first home and was moving to NJ. I went into the store to purchase a whole house full of furniture. I left there after spending $5,000 on sofas, a bedroom set and a dining room table set. I set up delivery the day after the moving truck moved me to NJ so that I could unpack my clothes into my new dressers and I would have a place to sit and eat dinner or watch TV. Well, to my utter dissapointment the dining room table delivered was a different color than the chairs. (Table was black..chairs were dark wood and cream which is what I ordered). My sofas, which were ordered with custom fabric, came with the wrong pillows, and my bedroom dresser was badly damaged. The kind of damage that happens at factory level. It was not something that they delivery men did. So now I was left in my new home with no dresser to unpack my clothes in and no table to eat on. I had to wait 6 more weeks for the custom table. The dresser ended up taking so long, that I asked them to please come take back the balance of the bedroom furniture and refund me. I was so upset that the store offered me $300 in gift cards as compensation. As you can imagine, I was in no rush to go back there and spend more money, so I just put them aside. Here I am a year and a half later, and I notice that the Rand F website is showing the exact bed I've been looking for, white iron. So I go down to my local store in Watchung NJ, I place my order and when I go to pay with my gift cards, I'm told that they expired. Not only did they expire but one of them expired 4 months after my and quot;bad incidentand quot; and the other expired 6 months after. The store never told they they were going to expire and I honestly cannot imagine how someone puts a time frame on compensation for their mistakes. Needless to say, the NJ store could not help me so I went back to the long island store, where the store manager basically said I was SOL. She basically admitted that the git cards were a means to appease me NOT bring me back for business. When I called customer service, I was told they could not help me either. I myself work for a major retailer and I cannot understand how a company can treat customers this way. They finally had me back in the store after a horrendous enough experience that would cause most people to never go back, and they proceed to turn me away again. They'd prefer to lose a customer for life, then own up to their errors and honor a gift card that they gave me. Needless to say, I am now done with Rand F and will never be going back there. I am appalled at they way they treat customers and how they handle their mistakes. Shame on them!

It went well. The agent asked me what I was going to do with the mattress. I said: and quot; You were supposed to take it.and quot; Then they took it out. This surprised me because that was the plan when we purchased the bed.
Description of Work: Brought a new bed and box spring and put it together. They also took out my old mattress.

Very professional and courteous. Delivery came on time. About 18 months later, I noticed that one of the chairs was wobbly. We don't use the set hardly at all, so this should not be the case. I looked at the chair and thought that one of the legs was cracked. Also, the bolts were loose all around. I then tightened the bolts on all the chairs. I called customer service for repair. I have the Platinum coverage. They called me and set up an appointment, then called back to re-schedule the appointment for a time after the parts came in (makes perfect sense). Their available times to come and do repairs is very generous. The repairman came, after about 6 weeks of waiting for parts. He took one look at the chair and told me the leg was fine, but the frame was cracked. He asked if anyone had come to look at the chair first, or had they asked me to submit a photo of the damage. I said "No". He went ahead and called customer service and updated the claim for me. I am now waiting almost 6 weeks for the next part to come in and then I will schedule another visit from the repairman. While everyone has been very pleasant and professional throughout all this, they should not have taken my word for it when I told them the leg seemed broken. This wasted a lot of time. Since I don't use the set much, it is not the worst thing to have to wait. But I also don't think the frame should not have broken so quickly.

We were waited on almost as soon as we entered the store. The saleswoman was very professional. She described the various models, the differences in construction, and let us try out several, as many as we wanted. We also looked at several brands. When we were ready to make a decision, we were able to complete the transaction without difficulty. The mattress was delivered when promised, again with no problem.
Description of Work: Allowed us plenty of time to try out various mattresses. Explained the different types available.

Very Happy with this store and staff. I purchased a mattress and underwent an exchange with no problems. I was so pleased with the service. I have a back problem and buying a mattress is a very big deal and the staff were so understanding and helpful. They want their customers to be satisfied. The sales staff, Kishore and Howie, and Karen and the managers Andy and Al were all just Great!!! The customer service staff were also wonderful. Don't buy a mattress anywhere else!!! Raymour and Flanigan is now my new favorite store!!

Bed and chair delivered to our West Hurley house as promised. Sofa was a special order so it was to be delivered later. They gave us a delivery date of 12/11/09. They called several times over several days to reconfirm delivery date and time. On that day we waited all day and they did not come. Several calls and hours later they finally informed us that it had been sent to the wrong warehouse and was on Long Island in error. They apologized and said that they would refund my delivery charges once it was correctly delivered. Though it was inconvenient they eventually offered me 12/23/09. I reluctantly agreed as it meant taking another day off from work to drive 2 hours to wait at the house. I had preferred a day that I was already going to be there but they said they only deliver on Wed and Fridays in that area. I took the day off, drive 2 hours and once again waited all day and again it did not come. An initial call at 2 pm brought a confirmation that they would in fact be there. By 3:30 I was told that there was damage on it so they could not deliver it. They claimed to have left a message for me that morning but no such message was ever left. No one had made any attempt to let me know. I wasted another whole day for nothing. Again I got apologies and a promise to call me back but they did not do so. I had to go to the store on 12/29 and talk with the store manager to canceled the order and get a refund for the sofa and the delivery charge but nothing for the second inconvenience and expenses (gas and tolls for the 2 hour trip plus a day off from work). They lied about telling me that they had left a message that they weren't coming. They said they'd call me back but all contact with them has been initiated by me. I would never order another item from them. They are completely unreliable.
