Excellent job, done quickly and correctly as always. Elm air is an exceptional company that does the job right the first time. While I wish they had emergency service available after hours and on weekends even for an extra fee, their service work over the decades has been outstanding. I have recommended the company numerous times over the years to friends, families, collegues and neighbors. This is the only company I would trust with my AC units.

Absolutely Fantastic. I first met with Scott. He came to my home to give me an estimate. It was my second estimate I had gotten for this rather large job. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. He did not try to up sell the job and had a price in a few days. We worked out the details and we decided to go with Elm A/C. Erik and his crew, about 5 other guys, did an amazing job. They showed up when they said they would and cleaned up before they left. I was very impressed with everything they did. Erik took time to explain everything to me after he was done. I would HIGHLY recommend this company for all you A/C needs.

They beat everybody else's price in town. He was clean while climbing through.

You can add my house to the other reviewers who had their ceilings ruined by Elm. Long story short, they improperly installed the air handler for the central a/c in the attic. Three cracked primary pans and two ruined ceilings later, we are now having their air handler removed after only nine years of service and replaced by a new one from another company. And Elm can't blame anyone but themselves for this. They installed it and up until this year, they maintained it. At least, that's what we paid them to do. We fired them at the end of last summer. Oh, and the people who complained are spot on about how rude this company is. One of their managers got very nasty with my wife last summer when we complained that they had ruined our ceiling a second time. And here's a real topper. We filed an insurance claim to recoup some of what we spent. When our insurance company contacted Elm to see about getting our deductible reimbursed, Elm claimed to them that they don't have insurance. What??? How is that even permitted. If that's true, they should never be allowed to operate anywhere. Please spare yourselves and your house from this company. If Angie's List when we were looking to install our central a/c and we saw these reviews, we would never have hired them.

They are the worst! It was a nightmare. salesman never mentioned extensive outside piping which ran all around the house... covered in black foam insulation tubing. When I said I was never told of this, response was something to the tune of "what did I expect?" When I said that there must be some cosmetic fix, they said I could have aluminum gutters placed over some of the tubing and black foam could be painted to match house! In fact, other installers cover the piping with a PVC covering that can be painted. Elm just wanted more money for themselves. And the installers placed one of the units on top of an inground sprinkler head! UGH.

They were the middle price of the quotes that we received. They installed the unit when scheduled and it does a great job, works for our whole downstairs. There was no change to the price after our initial estimate. When they gave us the quote the salesperson was knowledgeable and explained to us for the upstairs of our house window units would probably work best. Had we not got any rebates or tax credits for the unit it would still be worth it. The day it was installed was a scorcher and it cooled the house down quickly, we were perfectly comfortable. The first years tune up was included in the installation price.

They were nasty. In October of 2004 they told me that the condenser coil had been recalled and would change it at no charge. They promised us that if it did not work in the spring, they would again fix it at no charge. It did not work in the spring and when we called to tell them they did not stand by their word.

I was very pleased with entire process.

They are the worst that you could ever want to find. I have used them for years and I did not realize that they were sold. They send you a technician and they tell you that they have many complaints about him. The technician could not fix the problem and he made a mess of flood in my house. He was a very nice guy but he did not know what he was doing. He even admitted that he used the wrong pieces. They also had the nerve to use my credit card that they were not authorized to use. I have been using them for 30 years but they changed owners and they did not respond to seven emails that I sent them as well as to my phone calls. The guy did nothing and created a massive damage to my ceiling. They also told me that he was coming at 1:00 to redo the damage that he did but he showed up at 8:00 at night.

Called Elm about a month ago because our A/C wasn't as cold as it had been in the past. Technician told us it was working properly. 2 weeks later, the Condenser unit outside begins making grinding noises and blowing warm air. Second technician comes and says that everything is still working properly and that because of the heat wave we were experiencing, the air might not feel as cold. He said, "You can only expect a 20 degree variance from the outside temperature", which was in the upper 90's. As for the condenser, he gave be a rudimentary lesson on the proper functioning of a condenser unit, speaking to me as if I were a child, "The condenser unit cycles on and off throughout the day..." I explained to him that I understand how the unit works, this was stammering and stuttering and grinding to a halt. As if the electric motor that turns the fan on the outside unit was having trouble doing its job. Since I was at work, I was talking to the technician over the phone. I asked him to wait about 10 minutes to see that the unit begins to work then stammers and stops. According to my neighbor who let him in, the technician left immediately after our conversation. The very next day, the unit stops working again. I called into their after hours service, and received no return call the next day. When I called them during business hours, both of my phone calls were put on permanent hold, then eventually dropped. When I finally got in touch with them after the weekend they told me it would be 3 days until they can book me into another appointment! And I was greeted with attitude on the other end of the phone when I finally did speak with someone. I am fed up with their incompetence and joined Angie's list just to post this. Now I can see there are other complaints very similar to mine. I wish I had signed on for Angie's list sooner

They were great. We have a two family house so they had to install air conditioning units for both floors. And downstairs, the place was damaged and flooded, they had problems with getting the service back to work properly and they had to actually replace the wiring and it took them a few extra hours of their time to get the problem solved and they were willing to stick around and figure it out, and they got it working perfectly. So I thought that just for that reason alone they were fantastic.

Very unhappy with this compay

Very satisfied with service from start to finish. They delivered on what they promised to do. Price was average given all the estimates I received from about five or six companies.

Young technician came. Checked out the A/C. Changed the filter and that's it. i told him the house was pretty warm and that I thought I needed a charge of freon. He said no, the level was fine. He was onlt here about 15 - 20 minutes, which i thought was odd but he told me everything was good to go. I bought into it because I guess that is what I wanted to hear. Anyway- of course a month later the A/C completely stopped working! I called another company who told me that the drain pans were full and that caused the system to shut down. I wonder if the Elm tech even looked for that. Also, I needed a freon charge. Now, my A/C is working and blowing cold air as opposed to the warm it it was blowing and i complained about to Elm. I would not use them again.
