"AFM did not provide any service to Mr. [Member Name Removed] N. After reducing our fee, substantially, to accommodate Mr. [Member Name Removed] N, he still did not hire us. For him to write this review that our "charge to come out and take a look at the foundation was too high" is just wrong. Professional service costs money, obviously too much for Mr. [Member Name Removed] N. to accept. There was no reason for his review, other than an attempt to defame, demean and disparage AFM's reputation. No thank you, Mr. [Member Name Removed] N.."
"This review by Ms. Pacinelo was posted immediately after, just, a 'phone call'. Homeowners, such as this member do not fully understand how professionals operate. I provide top quality engineering service (for over 30 years), and I know my costs to operate my business. I am very honest and fair with my pricing, but I am not in the business of providing discounted, or charitable services to homeowners. My time equates to money which 'runs my business'. I did not tell the member that my fee to her would be "quite" more. No additional fees were discussed, at all - only the main fee. If the member does not understand, or agree, or accept the way I operate, then the member should find a young, inexperienced, cheap, unlicensed, uninsured, local engineer, who can provide her service. I could have lied to the member and buried the travel costs into the fee, and they would never have known. The member used my honesty as a needless, vindictive malicious attempt to publicly defame, berate and disparage me on Angie's List. My honesty backfired. I will continue to provide my professional service to the members who understand and deserve my service!"
"I am sorry my service fell short of the client's, Mrs. Q's expectations. I do my absolute best to troubleshoot and find the source/cause, and resolution, of all types of problems. This is why I have a very good history of satisfying my customers. Mrs. Q is in dispute with the immediate neighbor, who she thinks, is fouling up her building. At the time of the inspection by AFM, there were no indications of such....only her word of the 'questionable' occurrences over the past 10 years...which I reported. The homeowner, Mrs. Q, reported sewage in her basement 10 years ago. At the time of this inspection, there were no indications of any water, or sewage, in the basement. As far as I know, these all 'alleged' conditions reported by the owner, that I reiterated in my report. Mrs. Q lives in a 100+ year old, poorly maintained wood framed house that has several possible locations of water seeping in (although the house was very dry at the time). I made my report, with the suspect areas where water could be coming in. There was nothing to report on 'sewage'. Mrs. Q, simply has an old, neglected house that is in need of tremendous amount of repairs and upgrades, throughout, including roofing, siding, and possibly sewer and plumbing repairs/replacement. If the house was maintained, she wouldn't have any water problems. I provided my report to her, but I cannot, will not, tell her specifically, with certainty, "it is your neighbor's fault", based on the present conditions of her house, and her alleged reports of the past 10 years. I will not lie in my document/report to support a possible, fictitious claim against the neighbor, or an insurance company. Sorry. You need to take care of your home, Mrs. Q. Good luck."
