We never heard back from the company regarding the delays that were taking place until we contacted them. Every time we called their number, it was disconnected. We later found out the company had changed names and websites, without any notice. Every email was not returned until we finally spoke with the manager at the store, Gigi. Just to clarify what had happened so far: 1.) The original citibank credit card deposit is being challenged by Citibank fraud dept. 2.) The final payment was credited by Chase Bank already Because: 3.) The furniture was ordered back in January and no communication was provided to us until the week of March 12, when I spoke to Joe M regarding this. 4.) The furniture was supposed to be shipped May 15, and it was rescheduled due to the fact that it was not on the delivery list in time. 5.) The furniture came damaged and my wife refused delivery 6.) Joe M claimed we would be sent a replacement part May 22 7.) I called multiple times to ask to speak with a supervisor since Joe had not called me with the status. I am still waiting for John to call me. 8.) I left a message with Chi Chi to call me regarding Joe's incompetence as a salesman. I still do not have my furniture
Description of Work: I purchased a table and chairs from Your Home Furniture of Long Island in January. I even added on more items because the sales person Christine offered us the ability to add onto the order after the original purchase over the phone.

Ordered a leather sofa and oveseat in-store at The Place on 6/30/2013 with a delivery date of 12 to 14 weeks with a cash deposit of two thousand dollars. After never being contacted about delivery or any problems, I contacted the store in November. All you get is voicemail and after 2 weeks of unreturned calls to customer service, I called the saleswoman's cell phone. She called about 2 days later saying she had no idea that we had never received the furniture & she'd get back to us in a day or two. Another week passed with no call. After calling again, she said someone would call. This went on about another week & finally, I said we didn't want the furniture. She offered to cut the $270 delivery charge in half & said someone would call the next day. The next day, the elusive customer service person, Tyresia, called & said we should get the furniture in mid January.....almost 7 months after placing the order. When I told my husband, he said to tell them we want our money back. I called the saleswoman & told her I'd be in on the Friday, 12/13, for the refund. On 12/13, I went to the store & was told because we paid cash, they'd have to issue a refund check & that would take 7 to 10 business days. I said that's ridiculous & I'd be back the following Friday for the check. The following Friday, they said no check was available & would not be until 10 business days passed & they'd mail it to me. I said NO MAIL. I wanted the check in the store & didn't want to hear the old "check is in the mail" story. Today, 12/27/13, almost 6 months after the order was placed, we went to the store & received the refund.......ran right to the bank to cash! Fortunately, there was money in their account. I would NEVER recommend anyone buying from these people. I was so sorry I didn't research them beforehand. The BBB has rated them F, there are dozens of complaints on-line, a Facebook page "The Place Furniture Galleries Fraud Victims." I don't care what they change their name to......it's the SAME STORE. When we placed the order, the signs outside said The Place, the saleswoman's card said The Place, but the sales receipt said Your Home Furniture of Long Island. BEFORE you become a victim, please Google them.
