Storage
$500
You see them everywhere. We had stored our furniture there for 10 years, and when we put it there, it was in mint condition. When we took it out, the unit apparently had a leak somewhere, everything was damaged. Our furniture was professionally wrapped prior to storing, and by the time we got to the middle of the storage unit, you could see 5-10 inches of water lines. We could also see where the leak was, and everything has mold. We haven't had very great cooperation from them. People should be forewarned that before they take their furniture in there, they should take pictures. We paid thousands of Dollars, and when the kids wanted to put it in their homes, it is damaged. As it ended, we were paying close to $500 a month, and it was my mother's furnishing. It has never been moved. The damage was extensive. They gave us the name of our insurance company, and there is a clause that we have to have our claim immediately within 24-48 hours, and if you don't there isn't anything you can do. We would have had a better result keeping it in my garage. We paid for the largest unit, and it was supposed to be temperature controlled. We were always prompt with our payments, and one time I went and the employee had closed the office and she wasn't there, so I wasn't able to pay until the following day, and they immediately wanted to charge me a penalty. I had to plead with them, and it was not my fault. The staff was very polite, and they were helpful, as far as getting copies about my contract, but once they were questioned about what they saw about the damage, they said they couldn't remember. They were not cooperative when it came to the damage. I would never go back to them. They said they would email me, when I put in the claim, and they didn't email me, and when I called them, they said that they had sent the email, and it would take 7-10 days.
