Northside Company

Working with Marshall, project manager, was excellent.  The initial crew came in with a poor attitude which Marshall and Sal corrected.  All-in-all the final project ended on a positive note with excellent workmanship, and clean-up.  The gutter crew was
excellent as well.  Fast, clean, and excellent workmanship.  My score for professionalism should reflect an  A for Marshall and
D for initial crew.  My understanding is this crew was removed from the organization.

They did a good job. He was attentive to our issues, he came right out and took care of it right away. They are little bit more expensive than the other company.

The service was very good. They were timely, thorough and they gave us a fair price. It was an entirely positive experience. They were very good.

We obtained estimates from 5 companies, and ultimately narrowed it down to 2. While we made the very difficult decision to go with the other company. I am sure his company would have done a great job, too.

I can tell that the guy who came out was very great, very professional, nice but just looking at other companies, he was a little more on the pricier price. I think, I found him $1500 more expensive than some else but he was very nice and the only reason we didn't go with him was that he was a little more expensive.

It went great. He told me I had plenty of life left in my roof and saw no need to replace it at this time. I appreciated his honesty so much that when it does come time for a roof. He will be my guy.

They were fabulous. They were very fair priced and did a very complete job. When something didn't go just right, they immediately came back and completely remedied the situation. They were a very quality company.

I had a very good experience with them. They were prompt, efficient and professional. I got a lot of estimates for my roof and they were slightly more expensive but it was very much worth the money.

It went good except for the RAIN.   Ist day they took shingles off the back of the house and garage.   They had to work around 7 skylights which took a while.   The got the back side covered and half shingled.   I was told the GAF material was waterproof.  Next day it rained and rained probably 2 inches.   I was gone in the morning got home and noticed small drips on the floor.  I looked in the attic and some wet spots on the bottom of the roof deck on the back side.   I called Sal and he was over right away.    His crew was there in about a half an hour.   They tarped the roof in the pouring rain.   Sal apologized he said he called GAF and they told him with enough rain the  material can saturate.   Sal said he never had this happen before .    Next day they finished the roof.   I went up the next day and found a few little issues.  Contacted Sal and he said he would be there in the AM.   Joe the foreman showed up and I showed him my concerns and he quickly fixed them.   Overall I'm very pleased with the roof.     I'm looking forward to no problems with this GAF system and warranty.   Unlike the less than 11 year old IKO shingles they just tore off which looked like they were 35 years old.

I haven't made a decision yet, but there is three of them that I am currently talking to and getting estimates. We have been negotiating all week. They are the most expensive according to the three that I've gotten. It is more than price, so I am probably going to go with them. They had to come back and estimate again for another building. I think they use better quality shingles. I just think that what they do is better quality than the other two, so I'm probably going to go with them. I wouldn’t want them to be eliminated by some people because of the expense. They have to have them come and talk to them, and find out what they are doing is different than some other people that work out of their cars. They are registered. Sometimes it's worth a little extra money as we don’t want a leaky roof.

The quality of the work is excellent.  My house has very steep pitches and numerous dormers and gables.  Northside did a wonderful job on all of the complexity.
The job took a total of five days, and more than one crew was utilized over the whole job.  But each knew what they were doing.  So no complaints there.
Only two problems arose.  My neighborhood is crowded, with each house very close to the next.  Northside did do some damage to my neighbor's yard.  But they responded the next day with replacement plants for those that they damaged.  Secondly, after the last day, some rubbish was still left in the backyard.  I mentioned this to Northside, and they sent someone over right away to take it away.
Overall, I highly recommend Northside.  Great Company.

Sal came over right on time.  He checked out my leak.  He explained my roof quality, construction and situation about the leak.  Instead of fixing it himself for a much higher cost he showed me how to fix it, saving me a lot of money.  This was the most honest experience I've ever had with a contractor and can't recommend Sal and Northside Roofing enough to my friends and family in the area.

Marshall came to the house and was right on time. He provided a lot of information and some good advice. There's no doubt that it was a sales pitch, but I felt that it was an honest sales pitch, and I don't have a problem with that.
I didn't up deciding to get the siding done this year, and even if I was doing it I wouldn't have used Northside because I felt that for the siding portion of the business they were merely sales reps for the manufacturer. The crew that would be putting up the siding wouldn't be Northside employees. Rather, they would be employees from the siding manufacturer.

Joe and Josh were the leads for the crew and did a great job.  They paid attention to detail, and made sure the rest of the crew did their work correctly. 
The only bug was a single piece of drip edge was the incorrect size, and it was in front where my neighbors could see it and comment about it.  I Called about it a number of times.  It was only when I left a message on the main number did Sal (The owner) get it and sent Joe and Josh out the following Friday and they fixed it (8/24/2013)
GAF system is pricy, but you get higher quality materials and a 50 year warranty that's transferable if you sell the house.

They were very good. They were very professional. Overall they communicate well with their customers.

I called for an estimate on storm damage repair on 4/19/13.  I left my phone and address etc and told them exactly what I needed an estimate on, fascia damaged by wind.  I never heard anything from them.  I feel that my job was too small for them to bother to return my call.

Very positive experience. I called him 2 times. The first time I just asked some questions (we are new homeowners and weren't sure what had happened.) I spoke to my husband and he requested that I call back and ask Sal to stop by the house and check it out. Sal met with my husband at our house - explained what had happened - and gave us a rough estimate. Though no work was performed we were very pleased with Sal and his professionalism and knowledge. We will probably have someone from Northside come soon for an actual estimate to have the roof fixed.

The gentlemen showed up as promised.  Removed the existing gutters and downspouts.  Installed the new gutters and downspouts, and then cleaned up after themselves.  The gutters and downspouts performed as expected, even with the heavy rains.  Color matched perfectly.  Entire job went as I had hoped; and no less than I expected.

Fast quote. Excellent work, on-time and in budget. Returned to take a look at a concern regarding chimney flashing and promptly took care of situation. Very good experience--would recommend Northside based on our project.

Marshall came to our home to go through the project and everything that Northside would be doing for the roof. He was knowledgable and covered everything he wanted to go through. We were put off that he did not have a proposal prepared at our meeting and quoted a few costs for some notes he brought with him. We asked for a formal proposal and he then emailed us a few costs that were different from what he had told us at our house. We had to ask again for a formal proposal and he then sent one that had different costs than the first 2 he gave us.
