Brooms Over Broome is great! A team of 3 women showed up at my house, were professional, friendly and efficient! They did a great job and I would definitely recommend them to others!

I arrived home to find something stuck to the floor in front of the kitchen garbage. While cleaning it up, I moved the garbage can. To my dismay, the garbage can had not been moved during cleaning. It was filthy behind the can. After taking a look around, I was disappointed to see that all my bathroom vanities had a film on them, the living room waste can had not been emptied and I could see dust on the back of the leather sofa. I swiffered the kitchen floor and was dismayed at how dirty it was. I swiffered my bedroom and was angry at the result. See the attached pictures. When I called Nicole she indicated she wanted to make it right. She stated she had just spoken with the girls who had cleaned the house and they indicated it had gone well. She stated they did "extra" things as the house was relatively clean. Nicole stated that they cleaned inside the microwave just to do a little extra. Let's just say, I cleaned inside the microwave after she pointed out that it was dirty. There is NO WAY anyone had cleaned it before me. She texted me the next day indicating that she would refund 1/2 my money or offer a free house cleaning! WHAT?! I indicated to Nicole I expected a full refund in addition to the gratuity I had left as my house was NOT clean. She told me to "work" with her. I indicated I was not willing to work with her as the work I had hired her agency to complete was not done. Needless to say, the experience was not at all what I had hoped for. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

"I am sorry that you were disappointed in our cleaning services. Per your request you did not want your floors mopped, and they did swiffer through your home. We are not sure where the dirt from you swiffers came from, we only do this once in a basic cleaning and do not move furniture. I apologize our cleaning specifications are not up to your standards. The complaints you had add up to around $15 and we were offering you half back plus the tip ($65), or a free cleaning ($90 value) which we felt was more than fair, and you were very clear that you were "NOT willing to compromise". You gave us very little chance to be able to do anything. A full refund is not justified as we did still clean your home. Our offer still stands."

After reading reviews on Angie's List, I arranged for the "thorough" cleaning service from Brooms Over Broome. A crew of three very pleasant young women just left after 3+ hours of quiet, steady work. They paid attention to details: moved furniture and knick-knacks; took care of a couple of years worth of dust (mea culpa!) on the book shelves; did inside windows; and micro, oven and fridge as expected, along with the usual vacuuming, mopping, and scrubbing, etc. After they left, I spot-checked a few places, and found two that could have used a little more love...but I'm chalking it up to experience, in that now I know what to ask for. Honestly, I can't speak to value, as I didn't do any price comparisons, but I have no complaints regarding the price I paid (I got a 10% one-time Angie's List discount). This was the first time I have ever used a cleaning service, and I would a) recommend Brooms Over Broome without hesitation, and, b) call on them again.

It went great. They were prompt - or called if they were delayed. They consulted in detail with us on selection of surface finishes - real world information about proper uses of and pros/cons of satin/eggshell/flat/gloss/semi-gloss. We adjusted our plans a bit based on their inputs. They had helpful thoughts about the pros/cons of using slightly warmed trim colors in some cases instead of glaring white - and the when's and where's the stark white is better.
They were clean and meticulous beyond belief in most cases. All gaps in wall/floor moldings were caulked (invisibly) before painting. The same care was used in caulking around window frames and door frames. They did cut some corners when painting around door hardware. Door lock plates should have been removed before painting the doors. Some hinges received an unneeded splash of paint here and there. The same care that the main rooms received was used in painting the closets.
Their prep work was generally very good. They did a good job on fixing/obscuring some ceiling cracks, minor dings and nail holes, plus some larger repairs where curtain rods had been removed, and a water damaged area of plaster was restored. These guys are not cheap, but they will not disappoint you. About $5500 for the whole job, including 13 gallons of paint and other materials.
The house was built in 1936 and had lath/plaster walls and ceilings throughout.
The work team consisted of three painters and a part-time repairs guy. They worked approx. 0930 to 1700 each day. I kept track of their hours - 180+ hours of solid work for the job. There were usually three guys working - quietly, no cursing, no smoking, no blaring radio, no grab-assing. BTW, they usually worked in their stocking feet.

Team was led by company owner's son. Was professional and polite, yet friendly and easy to talk with. Carefully consulted with us on paint colors. Offered helpful suggestions. Prepared surfaces well. Double-coated everything. Returned for touch ups, where warranted. Cleaned up impeccably. Got the job done quickly and exactly as promised. Results look great.

3 very efficient and personable women arrived at 8:30 with their own equipment. they each took an area of the house and went through a checklist. Only missed a few cobwebs on a 10' ceiling - I didn't expect her to. One lady returned the white tiled floor to almost new and another gal scoured a utility sink that was covered in dried on paint - looked great!

a team of three very professional ladies arrived with all of their own equipment at the time specified. They split up into teams and took different areas of the house using a checklist to make sure that every item was done before they moved onto another area. They worked from the ceilings down including fans, light fixtures and tops of cabinets and furniture. All glass paned interior doors and windows were cleaned and spot free. One woman cleaned a white tile bathroom floor in serious need of attention and made it look almost new. Another woman returned a utility sink in the laundry room to an acceptable condition as It was totally splattered with paint by the young man painting our house this summer. I was quite impressed. I did have to pay an extra $50 for the distance that they had to travel but I felt that it was worth it since no one in my area (Norwich New York) provides this service. I have already contracted with them for a spring cleaning. They were in and out, attended to their jobs, no unnecessary chitchat - just get the business done!

I have used this company for almost a year now. Debbie, the owner, communicates regularly with me to make sure that all is going well and that the house is cleaned, sanitized and dust removed for my elderly parents who are both disabled and can't see or bend over easily to clean at all. Her team is very prompt, friendly, professional and they work non-stop each week. I'm very pleased with their work and appreciate their extra help when needed. Debbie works with me all she can to make this weekly service possible for my family and I appreciate her flexibility, empathy and care very much. I highly recommend this cleaning service.

My windows are difficult to pop out of the frame and equally difficult to pop back in, but they persevered and eventually got the hang of it. The job probably took longer than expected, but through all this the two women were friendly . They also did a good job washing the windows.
