"I have just talked to [Member Name Removed], as I highly respect her as a fellow business owner, Neighbor, and a past customer. [Member Name Removed] wrote this review in August of 2018 and I never saw it as I was not in the habit of looking at reviews on line. In October of 2018 I met with [Member Name Removed] and her husband at her request, along with the Project Consultant and our Production Manager. From that meeting we were able to resolve her issues and take care of the nagging details that to date were not finished. I agree with her assessment that our communication was poor, clean up was not complete, and our responsiveness to the issues on the job was not acceptable. During this time period I had transitioned to a new Production Manager, who was still learning the Crown system. Compound that with a fore man that we had promoted from lead carpenter who did not make the transition successfully. (After a couple of jobs he asked to be relieved of his fore man duties and shortly there after left our company). No excuses, I told [Member Name Removed] I take full responsibility for my companies performance, and for putting a foreman on her job that did not meet our standards of communication. In talking to [Member Name Removed] today I learned that one of the entrance doors was sticking and that one of the Gutter seams had a leak in it. [Member Name Removed] and I agreed that i would send our Handy Man out to take care of these issues. After this is accomplished I believe [Member Name Removed] will say that our quality was good on this job. [Member Name Removed] did say in our conversation that " I know Crown's quality is excellent". We had previously worked on her home 5 different times with great success. We just really disappointed her with our process and lack of communication on this one. (breaking my heart of course!). Sincerely, Jeff Fredrickson, Owner, Crown Construction"
"Hi [Member Name Removed], My apologies for not reading this sooner. I looked up your appointment that you had with one of our Project Consultants. Back then I had received another call from a previous customer of mine that also complained of him using pressure tactics. He no longer works for Crown Construction. I agree there is not place for pressure tactics. We are well known to be a non pressure company on our appointments. Our company policy is to set an upfront verbal contact with people within the first 10 minutes of the appointment giving them permission to say No at any time, and also getting permission from them to have us also decline the job if we do not feel like we are the right fit for them. This should have been done for you as well, and it makes me feel very bad that you felt any pressure, or manipulation at all. So please accept my heart felt apologies for having one of my employees make you feel uncomfortable! I am glad you stood up for yourself and did not give us the work. As far as the price I am wondering if we were comparing apples to apples in your price comparisons. For 9 out of 10 roofs that we do, we provide the GAF Golden Pledge warrantee, which is a lifetime warrantee on materials and a 20 year warrantee on our labor backed up by the manufacturer.(GAF). That roof is definitely much more expensive than a standard roof. And you should have been given the option of choosing the less expensive roof as well. I hope you were satisfied with whoever did your roof and that you now feel well protected from the elements! Sincerely, Jeff Fredrickson, Owner, Crown Construction"
"Thank you, [Member Name Removed], for your kind words. It is always a pleasure reconnecting with you folks."
"[Member Name Removed]... it was a pleasure being of service to you both. Working on older homes can be a challenge, no doubt. But it's always a benefit - updating windows and doors. Those windows/doors should serve you well during this upcoming winter. Thank you for taking the time to complete this review. Will look forward to hearing from you in the future."
"I'm sorry that we were unable to help you with your roof. Hopefully all went well with the contractor you hired. If there is something we can do for you in the future, please let us know."
"Please accept our apologies for any misunderstanding between the initial phone call and the actual job. As you indicated in your review, your home did experience major ice dams. Our notes indicate your ice dam was four feet deep and several inches thick. It took our two-man crew several hours to get through the ice that had been requested to be removed and for that you did get charged accordingly. The ballpark cost initially given to you was based on what we had experienced with other roofs, which were less involved. The amount of ice build up on your roof was completely unforeseen. The disclaimer you had signed explained that there is a risk involved with these types of jobs. However, we are totally unaware of the amount of damage you described in regard to your roof. After speaking to our Roofing Superintendent, he would like to take a look at your roof once it's walkable (spring 2016) to assess any damage. Again, we are sorry for any misunderstanding."
"It is such a blessing to help our parents whenever possible. We were thankful to be a part of that with our handyman service. Thank you for sharing."
"Thank you [Member name removed] for your feedback. We have since changed our policy on the handyman services wherein we do not charge the credit card prior to completion of the job. We appreciate your input. As far as our pricing being "two times" more than the other quotes you had gotten, we are very competitive with our pricing with like companies. Of course, the independent contractor will be less due to the size of the respective company. However, Crown Construction has a team of second-to-none craftsmen that are specialized to the type of project requested. We have addressed issues many times over for customers that the original contractor is no longer in business and consequently, unable to honor any warranties. And frankly, that is why so many in the area choose Crown Construction. Thank you again for your feedback."
"We are thankful it all worked out wonderfully as well. Our handyman, Kevin, is great and very responsive to customers' needs. Thank you for the feedback."
"Thank you for taking the time to post such a glowing assessment of your project. We certainly appreciate the feedback. Each job is unique and we are thankful that you are pleased with the final results. Enjoy!"
"Please accept our apologies for the frustration you experienced with Crown Construction. We had received your initial correspondence on July 15, 2013, in which we set up an appointment for you to meet with one of our reps. However, that rep is no longer here at Crown. Email correspondence was initiated again in February, 2014, at which time we tried to schedule a time for our handyman to complete the installation. However, in reply, you had indicated that the only available time you had other than nights was on Memorial Day, Labor Day, or July 4th - our offices were closed on those particular holidays. The following day (2/18/2014) we offered the option of our handyman meeting with you some morning at 7am. And in that same email I did indicate that if you had to leave before the job was complete, our handyman would be sure to secure your home. I did not realize this was an offense to you since we had worked for you in the past and I did not receive anything to the contrary. Please accept my apologies. Quite often we are in homes without the homeowner there due to the varying work schedule(s) of all parties involved. In the next correspondence on September 29, 2014, you indicated that possibly a Friday might work. At this point, it did take me six (6) business days (October 7th) to get back to you due to trying to confirm our handyman schedule; however, it was going to be two to three weeks out to do the job. Please accept my apologies for that delay in replying to your email. It is my understanding that our handyman did leave you a message indicating that since our schedules didn't seem to be meshing, it might be to your advantage if you were able to find someone who could do that installation on a Friday sooner than we could. Our intent was never one of ill will. Customer service is important to us and certainly apologize for any misgivings that were created about Crown Construction."
"Please accept my apologies for the unprofessional response - or lack thereof - that you had gotten from Crown Construction. That definitely is not our way of doing business and am sorry that you did not hear back from us. Initially when we realized that we were unable to make the scheduled time due to a previous appointment running over, we did call at that point but apparently didn't connect. If you would be so kind as to allow us a second opportunity to meet with you, we would love to touch base with you."
After having them redo our much outdated kitchen, we had them back to redo our laundry room. I was out of town, and my husband gave the foreman our key to come and go when needed and remake our new room. When I came home, I was so pleased with their work!!! I would NEVER hire another firm to do anything in our home now. They meet all expectations and then some!!
Love, love, love them.....
"Thank you for your kind words. It certainly has been our pleasure working with you once again. We wish you absolute enjoyment in that new kitchen and laundry room."
"Thank you for your comments. Appreciate the feedback."
"Thank you for your encouraging feedback. We sure do appreciate it."
