The overall work was fine. They probably have the best windows. They supposedly claim to have the best windows on the market as far as energy efficiency and I kind of think it's true.

I have used them even before I signed up on Angie's List. I was very happy with them. I shopped around and they had what I thought was by far the best products. Their installers were polite and professional. They did a good job. The quality of their products and the quality of their job in installing stood out to me about them. When people installed windows, most likely a lot of the time, things would not be installed quite correctly from what I have heard. Either there would be a space somewhere or the window would be too easy or too hard to open and things like that but I never had any of these problems. I was quite impressed. I visited their factory and they showed me all sorts of different options. They also showed the comparison to the other company's windows. I also had been to two other window stores before that. They sent somebody to the house on my request to go over specifics with me about the pricing and some other details. They did a great job when they came back to do the installation. I could not hope for better and I was very impressed with the company. I would absolutely use their services in the future without any question. I would go straight to them without shopping around when I would get the remaining windows done.

Excellent; three separate crews worked efficiently with no problems. The siding crew in particular were very conscientious repairing old house damage during the installation. Work went fast. Transformation of house was very dramatic and pleasing. Salesperson Marc in Seaford was very helpful, explaining all points.

It was a good experience. They were very professional and they did what they promised to do. The price was competitive. It's a smaller company compared to Pella and Anderson, but the product was pretty good and I got a tax credit for the energy saving window. I would recommend them.

There are problems in any large job. We were not thrilled with the initial job. But once Tri State saw the original report on them they immediately contacted us and went out of their way to make things right. They completely rectified the situation and went above and beyond. I would highly recommend them.

Overall it was ok. I ordered the windows and doors together and was given an installation date. I took off from work the day of the installation. When the crew showed up i learned that only the windows were being installed and not the doors. Up until then i was lead to believe that both would be installed. This was annoying because it meant I would need another day off from work to babysit the installers. The window install went well overall. The guys were FAST. Everything was very professional looking at the end. However, when the guys were wrapping up, i walked through the house to check everything out and noticed that one of the kitchen windows had a huge crack from top to bottom. No way the installer didnt realize it when he put it in. He knew it was cracked and put it in anyway and didnt tell me about it. I ran outside and luckily caught the guys before they left. They put tape on it arranged to have a guy to come fix it at a later date (another half-day off work). I also noticed that one of the window screens had a hole in it. They replaced that at the same time. The door installation was a few weeks later. This went fine. The guys were pretty meticulous about it to make sure everything was lined up right. The doors look and feel great. The only complaint i have is that the front door handle is a little scratched up. I'm just going to live with it. The price was about $1800 less than every other estimate i got, which is why i went with them. Overall it went fine in the end. A few headaches along the way, but thats par for the course with any contractor. ***Update - 12/30/10: Tri-State had contacted me after posting this review and has offered to compensate me for the inconvenience of taking the extra time off work.

From start; the salesman was prompt, extremely knowledgeable and informative, as to Tri-state?s product line performance, in comparison to competitor?s product line. I?m anal and shopped 5 different Window Manufacturers/Contractor. All the salesmen, with the exception of Tri-States, blasted the Competition. Big turn off!!! In some cases the Tri-State gentleman knew more about the competitor?s product line then their salesman. Their measure guy, was actually in charge of the installation mechanics, which gave me a comfort level, knowing that he critiqued the job to the installers, before they arrived. The Installation was methodical and like surgery. They installed my windows without destroying my moldings!!!! My friends all had issues with destroyed molding! The installers; all were courteous, neat and able to communicate. There was an issue however; of a ripped screen!!! The very next day the installers showed up and replaced the screen. Couldn?t believe the service! What a pleasure! The siding I choose was the 46 Gauge (their private label) but knew it was Alside?s Charter Oak.In front they used 25 footers; so hardly any seams. Salesman also recommended an insulationboard with 6.2 R value. The installation mechanic?s were excellent, communicative and extremelyeager to please me with any changes I wanted to make. Cleaned up every night, which amazed me!!! My neighbor's had guys that left debris around for the whole time on the job. My windows are incredible, I live on a busy main street and don?t hear the traffic and no more Drafts! Siding is on straight and beautiful. My comfort level with this company is extremely high! I also have Lifetime Warranty on my Widows & Siding + Labor!!!!!! A++ Tri-State !!

I have been in my home for five years now. When I bought the house the real estate agent told me all the windows in the house had just been changed. Now coming from an older home with original windows this was a big selling point for my wife and I. However, the last few years have proven to be very expensive to heat so we began our investigation into fixing this problem at the end of last winter. After countless hours of web research and interviewing contractors we found that these newer windows in our home were of low quality and the cause of our problems. Now, we have never undertaken such a large home improvement project and were nervous about picking the wrong product or company to work with. We interviewed 7 companies and received estimates from $3,400 up to $20,800. With so many choices we learned that not all windows are the same but they all said they had the best product. The cheapest estimate looked exactly like the windows we wanted to replace and the most expensive just seemed ridiculous. We found that we did not want the lowest price but the best value for our money. We decided on the Tri State window because of the triple pane glass, foam insulation and reinforcements in the frames. After seeing demonstrations of windows made from fibrex composites and fiberglass we understood the importance of strength in the frames. The hollow windows we saw did not appear to be able to last and the composites were again ridiculous in price. The warranty on the window was very important and we felt uneasy when a contractor promised a lifetime warranty when they did'nt make the window. After visiting Tri State's factory in Deer Park we learned that the lifetime warranty even included labor and glass breakage. Having all the information we needed, we placed the order for Tri States model 4200's series window. We decided on the triple pane over double pane glass because we felt the cost of heating oil was only going to go up in the future and changing the windows again was out of the question. The windows were installed in September and we are very happy with the work done. The installation crew was neat and professional making sure they addressed our concerns. The job was completed in one day and the work was fantastic. All the windows were capped beautifully and the caulking was perfect. Now that three months had passed since they were installed we can feel a dramatic difference in the rooms. The drafts are gone and our heating bills have dropped significantly compared to last year. One other thing that occurred that no one mentioned to us is how much noise these triple pane windows block out. We had spent a long time researching before we decided on Tri State Window Factory. We are extremely happy with our choice. Our new windows are beautiful and the envy of all our friends and family. We would definitely recommend Tri State Window Factory to others.

We had three estimates on this job. We chose not to go with the cheapest or the most expensive.Tri-State offered better foam insulation thicker foam with a higher R value. The R factor is a 6.2, comparded to the competition. The best one was a 3.8 R value. The siding consists of 25 ft panel?s virtually seamless siding. I am very happy because I see a lot of seams on new siding jobs in my neighborhood. I am very happy I chose Tri -State to do the work the windows are of superior quality and the siding looks beautiful. Very nice job, good company, great service, and I would highly recommend people to use them.Tri-State is a family business and were very grateful and appreciative for my business.

I had cedar shingles and wood windows and trim on my colonial. I was spending a fortune every few years to have it painted and it only looked good for a year or two. I had Tri-State install Pelican Bay siding which looks just like shingles. The installed Tyvek wrap and foam insulation board before installing the siding. The siding looks great. They covered all of the exposed soffits, fascia, and trim with PVC-coated aluminum. They replaced my single pane wood windows with triple pane vinyl windows. The house was MUCH warmer last winter and it looks GREAT. It still looks like the job was just finished. They even threw in free gutters and leaders, which none of their competitors included in their estimates. Their workmanship is great and they were very careful of the deck and the expensive plantings around the house. When they cleaned up, you wouldn't even have known we had this big project done. We have had lots of compliments on the job and have recommended Tri-State to many people.

After the salesman came and we contracted for the work to be done, Tri-State sent a measurer. Thereafter, they sent out the siding crew, the materials were delivered, and the doors were started. The installers cleaned up after themselves.

Overall Tri-State was at my home for about a week. They ripped off the old siding and started the putting up the new insulation the first day. By the next they were starting putting up the new siding. The fine details finish a beautiful job. People slow down as they pass my house, I love it!

When calling into Tri-State customer service s very helpful. Any little glitches that came up or even questions I had were answered. If they couldn't answer them on the spot they would have a supervisor get back to me later that day. Good response time and very courteous.

Tri-State did my roof and windows. What a great job! We love it. The price, quality, and service was fantastic. My family got to meet the Tri-State Family and we felt like their family by the end of the job. John, Andreas, Andrew & Nicole made us feel so comfortable. The quality of the windows they manufacture are so superior to what else we saw out there. The factory tour of their machinery and equipment was out of this world. The installation was clean they use drop cloths and they are very careful as if they're in their own home. We are very careful as to who we have in our home. Overall this is the company you want in your home.

I checked out several windows, including Anderson and American Craftsman, and was consistently unimpressed with the quality I was seeing in the price range I was hoping to stick to. After seeing a TV ad for Tri-State, I decided to visit the showroom. I was instantly impressed with the quality of the windows on display and so I arranged for an in-home estimate. The salesman showed up on time and came in at the price I expected him to (a little higher than I had wanted, but the government tax rebate made up the difference.) The salesman was professional and not pushy (a BIG plus in my book), but he didn't need to be. Once I saw the windows in the showroom, I pretty much knew I was going to hire Tri-State. Another guy came a week or so later to measure. He was in-and-out, and seemed not to take very accurate measurements. I was a little worried. I shouldn't have been (more on that later.) The installation took place about a month later. Two guys showed up on time (another BIG plus.) They were clearly experienced and they got right to work. They banged the entire job out in about six hours. They were friendly, but not there to chat and waste time, which I appreciated. They were careful with my house and left the job clean. My only minor complaint was that one guy sealed around the living room window with un-paintable silicone, which was a mistake. I planned on painting the window trim to match the white of the windows. But it was a minor mistake. If he'd only have asked about our plans to paint, it would not have been an issue at all. As for my concerns about the measurement - the windows fit perfectly. In fact, they almost seemed a little tight. But that's good. We had a big windstorm here the other day, and there were no leaks around any of the 11 windows. Before, the windows rattled like crazy and the blinds moved quite a bit in heavy wind. Now, nothing. Dead still. The windows we purchased were the triple pane, Krypton filled model with a .18 u-factor, well below the .30 required by the government to qualify for Energy Star. I read that by 2015, the government will lower their requirement to .20. My windows will still be compliant. I am 100% pleased with Tri-State. I would have preferred that the windows cost $100 less apiece, but I do think I got what I paid for: a high quality product and great service. Plus, with Tri-State's lifetime warranty, I feel pretty well covered.
