After signing the contract, the work was scheduled for the following week. We didn't have to give any deposit. The crew showed up on time. D&S Roofing does not use day workers or freelance workers. All of the crew are employees of the company, which is a huge plus. The entire job was done in one day and the yard was left in clean condition. We were entirely satisfied with everything.

The entire experience was wonderful. Dominic arrived promptly to give me an estimate. He explained in detail what he would be doing and why. A formal proposal arrived by e-mail the same day. I called a few times with questions that were answered immediately. Once I called to set up the work, the work was done the following week. Chris arrived promptly at 8am with a great crew and they worked non stop all day until it was done. They left my property spotless, I never even found one stray nail. They were professional and I would definitely call them again if needed.

D&S was a pleasure to work with starting with the owner, Dominic and the foreman on our job, Chris. Their experience, knowledge and advice were top-rate. I had several estimates where they automatically assumed placing a ridge vent on the entire bi-level roof. Dominic explained to us why it would be best to use an attic fan on one part, and the ridge vent on the other. They were on time and professional. They took care of the cleanup outside and there was no debris left on the decking or grass. Our job was difficult given the slope of our property, yet they did an excellent job and completed on time. Their pricing was competitive with others, they worked hard and we are very happy with the results.

We called him as soon as the tree fell and he came out to my home within minutes, with his crew. I find this very impressive. They are doing a wonderful job. He is professional, sympathetic and has competitive pricing.

Dominick, the owner, explained the entire job completely. He showed us samples of all the materails.He gave us a complete six page listing of all the steps . He is a very honest , reliable professional. His decades of experience and his immense pride in his work shows through. The crew are well trained roofing professionals. The clean-up was immaculate! Ripped 3 layers of old roof, replaced 53 sheets of plywood and 4 rafters on a 95 degree day in the summer. Awesome guys! They cleaned up continuously, there were 10 guys at my house from 730 in the morning till 6 PM job was done perfectly we just had a small leak in a bay window I called them and they came the next day, it wasn't even the roof on the bay window, they found a leak in the window from but they still fixed it. If you need a roof replaced, just have these guys do it, there price is extremely competitive And they do the right job

The whole job went smoothly. It took 8 guys about 12 hours to do the job. No plywood had to be replaced except for a few square feet of planking on the older section of the house. All gutters and leaders were replaced. Tarps were used every where to contain the debris. Cleanup was good even though I did find a few nails, which considering the size of the job, it was nothing. It's been only a week since the job with no rain as of yet, but I don't anticipate any problems. The job was done right. I would recommend them to anyone needing a new roof.

D & S Roofing really impressed me today. D & S had installed a complete architectural roof ( 28 square) approx 13 years ago. The roof is very nicely done and has never caused me any problem. Recently, another contractor installed siding and, in the process, damaged the flashing of the roof. When I called D & S to repair the leak that resulted from the other contractor's error, they came ASAP and repaired the leak FREE of charge. That's the best warrantee service I ever received. As usual, D & S was prompt, courteous, and professional. Without reservation, I would give them my highest recommendation.

This process went extremely well. D& S roofing was represented by Dominick. When I checked out his license and company with the Suffolk County of Bureau of Consumer Affairs, their responses were positive: license in order and one complaint that had been immediately resolved by the company to the customer's satisfaction. A neighbor, who is an orginal homeowner, used D&S 35 years ago, and needed a new roof, and used D&S, again. Both times she was pleased with the jobs well done. Dominck came to my home on time, measured the roof, explained clearly what neede to be done and how it would be done. Within two days I received a detailed proposal of everything we discussed. I even called back to make some minor changes which he did not hesitate to put in the final contract. His materials and crew arrived on time on the day of the job. They worked the entire 8 hours it took to complete the job, except for a 30 min. lunch break. They worked like true artisans knowing exactly what needed to be done and they did it meticulously and correctly. The crew foreman worked and closely suprervised his men. Dominick showed up about 90 min. into to the job to collect the deposit and make sure that I was happy and the crew knew exactly what was expected. Dominick left and showed up again. about an hour later when he and the crew determined how much wood needed to be replaced. My wife and I were quite surprised at the amount that would need to be replaced, but Dominick forewarned us before we signed the contract, that this was the unknown factor. He worked with us on this additional cost and made it reasonable. It was the only way to do the job correctly without any future problems. Dominick left again, but returned when the job was just about completed. He got up on the roof again to inspect, made sure we were pleased, and to collect the final payment. Let me also point out that his roof work comes with a 20 year transferrable warranty which could be a tremendous selling point. As originally stated, this is a long established company, with a proven positive track record. I would not hesitate to recommend them. In the world of home improvement contractors, D&S Roofing is truly a professional company.

They arrived when they said they would. They were very professional, did what they said they would do. We are very satisifed with the job they did. There were a few minor problems that were addressed promply and professionally.

The roof appears to be fine, as far as we know - there are no issues. Three or four weeks after the new roof was installed, we had heavy rain. It appeared as though the rain was coming in through our roof, we called D & S and they told us that it had to do with the chimney flashing and that it needed pointing - but during the entire process of them reroofing our home, they never mentioned anything. He told us that it would be two months before they could come out and fix it for us. Also, during the roofing process, they knocked all sorts of dirt into our attic which took a great deal of work on our part to clean it up. They also left nails sticking out into the top of our attic which is very dangerous. The company has already been paid in full and now we have no leverage to get them to come back. They said that they would come back and repoint the chimney but that it would cost an additional $4,800.00. I feel as though this company was not up front and honest - they should have told us about the chimney issues.

Dominic gave a very professional verbal estimate shortly followed by a written estimate that detailed all work. The work was scheduled for the first "nice day" and work was completed start to finish within 9 hours. The roof looked great and the clean up exceptional. Dominic personality is one that you believe and trust. About one month after the roof was installed, Hurricane Sandy hit with winds reported at 96mph in my area. The roof held up very well with the exception of a handful of shingles which came lose. With a pending Nor' Easter soon following, Dominic guys were back at my house and repaired the shingles. Great response time. The new storm hits tomorrow so stay tuned! I do not have Don'ts with D&S, but I Do recommend them. Dominic is a quality business man and I would recommend their work.

Excellent--very pleased with the job. We got three estimates for this project and chose D+S, whose price came in a bit over the lowest estimate but the salesman, Dominick, spent considerable time at our house examining the roof and describing to us exactaly what would be done. The workers arrived on time on what turned out to be an extraordinarily hot day. Although they had to take numerous breaks to cool off, the work was completed by the end of the day as originally planned. I was impressed with the precision of the project--they are obviously very good at this--and with the attitude of the crew. Even under miserable conditions, they were smiling and truly seemed to enjoy working together. The new roof looks great and there was absolutely no damage at all to the property. At the end of the day I had a beautiful roof with no residual evidence that they had been there. I highly recommend them.

Well. They came several days after a hurricane did damage throughout the county to give me an estimate. They said they would do the work toward the end of the following week. They actually did the job several days earlier than promised despite inclement weather.

The other "roofer" had been hired to clean out gutters and their workers claimed that we need $2400 worth of work to put flasing on the edges of our roof. We called D and S because of their reputation for being straighforward and honest. They were, and told us that we needed no additional work; that our roof wa in excellent shape and properly constructed. Honest, straightforward, punctual, pleasant, and incredibly fair. If we ever need roof work in the future, we will always use D & S.

The work was excellent. Their service, promptness, workmanship and price were excellent. I would highly recommand them to anybody. The clean up was excellent. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

They did a great job and quickly. The price was good. They workers were very good. They cleaned up well and only left a few nails lying around.

D&S Roofing is around a long time and have a good reputation. They appeared to have an edge on the competition by pointing out problems and they were reflected in the overall price.Quote was the highest but chose them for the years of experience. The final result was a good professional job.Spent more than planned $15,000.00 and would like to share a few thoughts : 1. Get one quote for regular roofing,drip edge and minor replacement. 2. Get a quote for plywood sheet replacement for the entire house older houses seem to require a lot of replacement. Discovered a lot of rot after the roof was ripped off.The per sheet cost was reduced but not could have been lower if negotiated in the beginning.

They did a great job, they were very professional and they cleaned up very well. They hauled away the old shingles and did a good job getting the nails out of the yard.
