John was very proffesional and cooperative. He completed repairs quickly and efficiently and was open to discussing multiple issues in the house. I will definitely have him back to do additional work.

John and his crew did a great job. Our porch was in terrible shape. The wood was rotted with a lot of water damage. John replaced the entire porch and steps with high quality wood and composites. We are delighted with the new porch. The ceiling is made up of beautiful cedar and the deck is of a super hard wood called Ipe. We can't wait for nice weather so we can spend time on our beautiful new porch.? Because John did such an excellent job with the porch we decided to have him repair and replace the things that we have been putting off getting done. He systematically approached each task and consulted with us at every step of the way. For example, we discussed the shutters, different types of materials and their advantages and disadvantages and then we ordered the perfect shutters. They look great, match the color or our new front door, and they are made of a water proof composite material so we won't have to worry about them rotting in the future.? In addition to the porch we had a lot of water damaged wood fascia that John replaced. This wood was on all sides of the house and the garage. The house looks so much better without the rotten wood and peeling paint we used to have. Plus since the new material is waterproof and termite proof we won't have to worry about it. I worked closely with John to select the doors, locks and doorbells. We are extremely happy with them. Our front door has a Schlage lock that we unlock using a code and it has worked flawlessly. It also has a key back up just in case. John put on an additional chain lock and made sure the doors worked perfectly.? John had to find a person to build the round window for our attic since that size and type of window is not easy to come by. It looks great and it is also made of a material that is waterproof. All in all, we are happy that we were able to get all of the things repaired that we needed done. Plus John helped us find a roofer, and an electrician to do some electrical work inside and outside of the house.? It was a pleasure to have John and his guys working on our house. They were punctual, friendly and hard-working. At the end of each day, John and his crew made sure that all work areas were nice and clean. I was amazed at the skill and care John took with all of his work. He really does pay attention to detail and if something is not perfect he will do it over until he gets it just right.? I highly recommend Valeri Construction for any carpentry and related work on your home. He does beautiful work.?

John was very easy to deal with, polite, and courteous during the job scoping process. I was immediately impressed by his knowledge about carpentry, and the fact that he took his time to come up with a strategy to address all our front door entryway issues caused by cheap materials and construction on a several year old home. In fact, it was a shame he wasn't part of the original carpenters who built the house! On the day of the job he text messaged me to let me know he was on his way and arrived promptly. Him and his crew worked diligently all day to complete the job and he took pride in his work. He also took the time to explain to me what the issues were during the demo process. In my opinion this wasn't the easiest of jobs, and there were a few unforeseen issues as the job unfolded. However, John was able to overcome these and that's usually the sign of a true professional. They were also neat and cleaned up after themselves. I have some other smaller jobs in the near term to do and will definitely use John again. In fact he even said he would let me know when he was in the area, and he could stop over and take care of them. He's got a great demeanor and a good customer service attitude.

I was disappointed but the work was okay. He took five and a half hours to put the one door in with a help of a person. I had to pay a extra $250 above the "Big Deal" price. I could have gotten another company to put it in for a lot cheaper.

Two gentleman came, they leveled the fence, followed my specifications on how I wanted the fence repaired. ?They also replaced wood on other parts of fence that needed to be changed out ( I didn't ask them to do that, so that was nice). ? The contractor also nailed down pieces of wooden fencing coming up on my other fence. ?Very happy he did that as well.

He called in advance to confirm the appointment, arrived on time the day of the appointment, and completed the work very close to the amount of time he estimated it would take. He was very personable and and easy to work with. We had him give us 2 estimates for additional work we would like to have done, and his estimates seemed to be fair. Also, he has returned voice mail messages in a prompt manner. Therefore, based on the above comments we will likely use him for those jobs.

It went extremely well except for the hornets nest that was discovered on?the first day after John was stung three times. Fortunately my exterminator was able to come and remove it quickly. Sorry John! First, we agreed that I would provide the siding and doors. We preferred this as we could take?our time finding the materials and then schedule the installation once the materials were delivered to?our house and confirmed as correct. The work took three days with John and a helper for two of those days. John was a pleasure to work with as was his assistant. He was there when expected and was on site for the entire time.?Any concerns we had as the job progressed were acknowledged, discussed and?dealt with to our satisfaction. Any?debris was cleaned up as each task was completed so we were never left with a mess. Not much else to say except that we are very happy with the job and would hire John again in a heartbeat.

John was very accommodating and nice, even when I needed to cancel and reschedule the appointment several times.? His helper Jack was terrific.? They listened to what I wanted..very easy to work with. John and his helper Jack arrived on time and completed the carpeting on the basement steps, with enough time left over to repair the broken hinges on my kitchen cabinets...that was awesome! The job was done well and the clean up was complete!? Very happy with the service.?? I would hire them again to take care of all the little things that need fixing in my house..... even without the great 'Deal' price.

John and his associate arrived right on time. He asked if they should take their shoes off. That was a first! I said no, of course. But appreciated his offer. They were "fast" and accurate, extremely neat and completely professional. John's real talent is in carpentry, and based on what I observed in his work, I'd hire him without hesitation for any remodel work required.

It took forever to get an appointment to do the work (>couple of months). Then, I was told that the job is too small, so have to rescheduled (waited another month). The contractor did not take measurements, purchased the wrong size of PVC board. Had to go back and change it. The board was not properly cut and connected to the railing, as a result there is a gap. Was told the entire job will take 2 hours, ended up taking around 4 hours (due to incorrect parts). I paid for the extra hour. Still, the contractor kept complaining about not making enough money on the job -- repeatedly. I find that to be very unprofessional.

Terrific guy, respectful and responsive.? I originally booked his services under an Angie's List Promotion.? It took a long while for him to get out here, but nothing was so urgent that it couldn't wait and we kept in touch.? John originally came out by himself and did various odd jobs around the house. He was unable to fix one leaky skylight, but had told me that this was not an area of expertise for him.? I asked him to scrape and paint an area of my cedar shakes that had peeled and he agreed to come back with an assistant so that they could work together, so he left owing me a couple of hours.? We kept in touch and he came back today with a terrific helper named Jack and together they did the painting. I had also asked for a separate estimate to replace four rotting railroad tie steps and John quoted a price that was very reasonable. He did a terrific job, worked meticulously, listened to any concerns I had and accommodated them.? John and Jack worked steadily and the steps looked great when they were done.? John also fixed a riser on my composite decking in another area.? They left my home whistle clean, even blowing some of the shavings from the cedar from my driveway.

Very well. Very prompt reply and great communication. Informed me of what would be done and consulted with me as to my wishes. Informed me several times of when he could preform the work. Did an excellent job. Porch looks great now. Thanks -

John and his assistant arrived on time (actually before 8 am). John explained what he proposed to do and showed me what had caused the damage to the roof and porch. They ripped out all the damaged wood. At every step of the way John checked with me and made sure I understood what he planned on doing. They finished on time and cleaned up all of their work areas. Everything was spotless. John explained what he had done and he said that he had asked a roofer friend of his to come and check to make sure that it would drain properly. The work they did looks beautiful and I am very satisfied. I am very happy that we will not have to contend with water pouring through the porch roof and falling rotten wood.? I plan on asking John to continue working on the rest of the porch and also to do other repairs and remodeling around our home. John and his assistant are skilled and hard-working professionals and I highly recommend them.

We purchased a Big Deal with Valeri Contruction - $225 for 3 hours of carpentry work. John and his assistant, who is also named John, showed up at 8am to get to work. The walls and ceiling were already opened up so there was no need for any demo work except for the removal of the fan. They worked diligently and did a decent job replacing the hole where the fan originally existed. They finished the relocation of the bathroom exhaust vent and new vent cap within the 3 hour mark. UPDATE: On the day of that heavy rain storm in September I came home to find a giant puddle of water in my living room. I noticed water dripping from the ceiling header so I investigated. The water was coming from the vent cap of the bathroom exhaust fan and from where the cap was nailed into the roof. Water ran into the attic, along the ceiling drywall and down the header. When the weather finally got better I looked at the vent cap installation. I can only speculate as to why water was dripping from inside the vent cap, but several of the nails he used to install it had no sealant over them. Although it took a long and heavy rain storm for water to penetrate, if the job was done right this should not have happened. Thankfully the water damage did not require major repair of ceiling drywall or flooring.

UPDATE 7/2/15 -- john and his coworker john did some work at my house today. i had a big deal coupon for 3 hrs of work, so i had a list of small jobs which they quickly and professionally completed. they seemed knowledgeable and had a good attitude about being wiling to exploring some problems (i.e. electric) even tho they are not electricians) and which wes happily resolved. there was a misunderstanding on the coupon offer, it should have been 6 hrs instead of 3, so the big job i had hoped to have done will have to wait. john quoted me prices on other jobs for the future. they completed the list i had in less than the 3 hrs so he credited me an hour on future jobs. i would hire them again.

Very smoothly. Had all the right equipment and parts. Didnt charge me extra for the parts he needed. Really professional and honest.

John was professional and helpful. Did quality work!

Will need to see how the workmanship holds on the stairs. The planter could have been simpler which he made into a project probably to raise the extra hours & raise the bill too. He was polite & professional

I hired John Valeri through a coupon purchased on Angie's List. John arrived promptly as promised, worked quickly and efficiently and did absolutely beautiful first rate work. He also had very good ideas as to the way the repairs should be made, including some very modern materials, so that I would not have the rot problems reappear. He was courteous and pleasant to deal with and more than fair for his pricing for the additional time my work took. I could not have been happier. ?I intend to hire him for several other jobs that need attention.?

Went well. John was patient in putting parts of cabinets together.

Everything went very well and I am pleased with the work he performed.He clearly knows his stuff. Made good suggestions.I will definitely hire him again for more shelving work and other projects I have.

He was very courteous however he was also very busy and couldnt come for another month.
