"When we started this homeowners multi-leveled complex deck, with gas lines, water lines and electrical, it was supposed to be a solid stain. The homeowner changed his mind and decided to do a semitransparent stain. I told him do not do a semi-transparent stain you will not like it. We started the solid stain so to make the homeowner happy we sanded down the solid stain we put on the lower deck. After we completed the semitransparent they did not like the blotchiness. The homeowners were screaming and yelling at me and my son. After we calmed him down, I had Courtney from Sherwin Williams inspect the deck, she thought it was good. To make the homeowners happy, we sanded the deck again and restained it semitransparent again. When we were done, my son knocked on the door and called and the homeowner he did not respond, he was home. He stopped answering my calls and wouldn?t answer the door. Being a contractor for many years, we knew there was going to be a problem with this customer. 36 hours after we finished the deck, we were only communicating through text messages. He refused to pay us $2500 for the extras as agreed upon. I am a contractor who loves and cares about his business. I am all about customer service. I work 7 days a week and answer every phone call, text message and emails immediately. Unfortunately, no matter what I tried to do to make this customer happy, it was impossible."
